I dont get why so many people are saying they want City to win the title instead of Arsenal?

We cant have it both ways: either you're against City's cheating or you're not. If you really oppose cheating, then you shouldnt want them winning anything, no matter who the alternative is!

If you're rooting for City just because you dont want Arsenal fans to mock you, you need to grow up and stop being so insecure.

>John Terry reveals story of how he led Chelsea mutiny and threatened to refuse to fly for a game in Malaysia because young players were sat in first class instead of him under manager's demand
Really the headline doesn't do it justice, Terry's bragging while telling this story when he once demanded he was moved on a flight or he, Lampard and Drogba (who he didn't even consult at the time) would all leave the plane.
He comes across so poorly in it and it just underlines how players at Chelsea have always been more powerful than the manager.

Being 2nd place sucks. Being 2nd place to someone who cheated is not as bad (since you are basically in 1st).

There is only one winner in the PL. The rest are losers (2nd place). If the winner is someone you can't possibly compare yourself to (due to cheating) then most will prefer the cheating one to win because that means you are just as good as your real non-cheating rivals (ending 2nd).

Liverpool fans are seething again. This time it’s because Luke Littler expressed “2-0” to the fans in the Liverpool arena and he then won the match. Of course though the Liverpool fans have kicked off because he took some money from The Sun newspaper now.

Everton have also joined in with the 2-0 joke. Liverpool fans now calling Luke and Everton FC scum for mocking a team that suffered the Hillsborough disaster 35 years ago and all of Everton’s gestures since then have been fake.

Luke is 17 yrs old from Warrington to add. Him taking money from The Sun is fair game. Everton praising the lad for winding up an arena of Liverpool fans is also fair game

>>
>>140384938
I think it's inevitable. Arsenal and Spurs have the best back 4s in the league and Spurs have the best goalkeeper in the league, that's already +1 to Spurs. Then you have to remember that Arsenal have no capable attack if the refs aren't helping them while Spurs have one of the best attacking trios in the league, and Richarlison is back.
Just like how Everton stopped Liverpool (their biggest rival) from winning the title mere days ago, Spurs are going to do the same to their biggest rival. There's something poetic about it and in both cases it's deserved.

I also think Arsenal will put off buying a striker but not because of Havertz form. It’s because they still don’t think there’s a player out there worth the money being demanded. Osimhen 120m, Gyokeres 80m, Toney 50m. Watkins/ Isak not for sale/120m.
They might be better off signing a winger/wide forward depth there is weak in the squad.

Good points but surely Toney for 50m is not a bad shout? He turned 28 last month which is about the only thing going against him (other than his personality, which I think Arsenal will judge heavier than any other issue) but that's not like terribly old. He's probably got a good 2-3 years in him.

https://theathletic.com/5450014/2024/04/26/premier-league-national-league-competition/

>The National League and Premier League are in talks about the creation of a new cup competition between the top 16 teams in English football’s fifth tier and 16 under-21 sides from the top division.

>The proposed competition would involve four groups of eight teams, comprised of four teams from each division, arranged on a regional basis, with each National League side playing each Premier League U21 team at home. The National League teams would not play each other in the group stage.

>The host National League club would get all of the gate receipts and half of the prize money, with the other half going into a central pot to be split between the 56 non-participating clubs in the National League and sixth-tier National League North and National League South. The Premier League, therefore, would be heavily subsidising the competition.

>The participating National League teams would be the top 16 sides in the previous season’s table, with the two teams relegated from League Two replacing the two promoted sides.

>Final details are still being ironed out but it is likely that the top two from each group would progress to a knockout round, which would no longer be regional. There is even a possibility that the final could be staged at Wembley, much like the final of the competition this idea is based on, the EFL Trophy.

Ah, so this is why the National League is wanting FA Cup replays scrapped.

But it is objectively the fault of the referee today, against City, against Arsenal and against Spurs. That is objective fact. It is not up for debate. Liverpool have lost plenty of matches this season without matchfixing from officials. But officials have rigged multiple title deciding matches against them. Like today.

I think we all know that Liverpool haven't actually been good this season. They've had a lot of luck and a lot of refball. Nowhere near good enough to be challenging for the title which massively flattered them. That kind of luck doesn't last a whole season and now we're seeing that.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.
