More details are leaking out about the Big XII's potential deal with a private equity fund Euronext/CVC. The fund would get two votes on conference matters, so essentially acts like two member schools. 20% of media revenues. First dibs on any facilities or infrastructure improvements or additions related to athletics at any member school.
The Big XII would receive $500 million in cash and a $500 million investment into expansion of the conference, be that through buying members from other conferences or creating new revenue streams like owning their own direct to consumer streaming service.

I hope you're not a B1G or SEC fan, considering those two whoring themselves out to Fox and the Mouse for maximum TV shekels is behind every single meme arrow in your post. Also the Big 12 added the CCG after Baylor/TCU were cucked in 2014 because a rematch might have helped the winner reach the playoff.

You mean the ACC, who killed the Big East?
>But the SEC and Arkansas
The Southwestern Conference committed suicide. The SEC had no part in making that happen, it simply gave Arkansas a place to go. South Carolina was independent when it joined the SEC. It wasn't until the ACC started raping the Big East that the realignment game took off. It will be delicious irony if the ACC gets killed by the realignment mania that it set in motion.
>>
>>141628276
Then the SEC tried to kill the big 12 while the B1G dealt a blow to the PAC the the 12 took the others. No one is fucking innocent in this

These types of PE deals almost always have some innocent sounding provision like that which turns out to be where the actual value for the investors comes from. I suspect that this is like Yormark wanting UConn because he thinks the P2 are going to wrestle control over the basketball tournament from the NCAA in the quest for unrealized value and he wants to be a part of that.
He'll get his hand slapped on the PE deal but probably will be successful in selling the conference naming rights. What's really funny is that doing so will just make the difference between the P2 and the Big XII that more apparent. Only one SEC school, Vandy, has sold the naming rights to their stadium despite it being common in the lower levels. In the Big Ten, it's programs like Maryland and Rutgers that do that kind of thing. It's basically holding up a big sign that says "We're not big time". If all of the G5 sell conference naming rights and the Big XII joins them but the other autonomy conference don't, it drives the point which group the Big XII belongs in.

If you're a prorel fag, having a European PE firm as part owner of your conference would be a good thing. It won't be often that the Big XII is a serious threat for winning a natty but if they also owned the Sun Belt and Mountain West, the storyline of who is going to get relegated for sucking and who is going to get promoted would add more drama to the season even after each team has already sealed their fate regarding the playoff that year.
Europeans aren't going to care about our traditions. They know what works for them in Europe and will want to make use of that here. The Big XII presidents are going to have to decide if the risk of falling down to a G5 conference, even if temporary, is worth the money they'll get.

It's ridiculous how many CFB media guys suck him off. He is an absolute dogshit QB that only looked good when teams rushed 3. Nearly every single time I saw him get blitzed, he crumbled.
I still don't get what the hell Arizona was trying to do against them. It was like they tried copying TCU & Nebraska gameplans even though UCLA and OSU had just raped CU by spamming blitzes. And then of course the Wazzu game showed the same.

The B12 killed the B12
>allowed unequal revenue sharing for Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska and Texas A&M from the start because they demanded it for being the most valuable teams
>destroyed the Big 8 and the OU-NU rivalry because Texas schools are in trouble due to SWC shenanigans
>destroyed SMU’s program by leaving them out for Baylor that had no national relevance (if Pedo State’s shower rapes didn’t kill them the death penalty wouldn’t have killed SMU, the conference they got pushed to killed SMU)
>eventually allowed Texas to completely run the conference, pissing off the north cash cow in Nebraska
>Nebraska is sick of not having a say in shit and getting screwed, bolted
>allowed Texas to have their own network, pissing off A&M
>A&M never wanted to be there due to Alabama skinship like in a yuri anime, bolted
The B12 itself is the problem. It never should have been a conference, it made terrible decisions from the start

Yes, that's why all of their stadiums have sold their naming rights to big corporations. Oh wait, they haven't done that despite all the money they could get. Rich coming from the people now whining about muh PE money ruining CFB. It's not the SEC taking teams that is annoying. It's the dindu attitude from their fans pretending like they are blameless and insisting the SEC's actions had absolutely nothing to do with the current state of college athletics.
>>
>>141660059
>SEC winning all the time had nothing to do with it
Maybe you shouldn’t have fired Mike Leach and you would’ve gotten Raptured instead of whoever you’re the saltiest about leaving.

No he isn’t. He always blames me for every criticism someone has of the p2. I could care less about where tech ends up I’m still rooting for them. I don’t have the constant need to bring up the conferences to feel smug

>it’s either A&M or Texas you bitch about, never Nebraska or Missouri
Happens every time. Shut the fuck up and get over it
>>
>>141660281
Because I do live in your head. Like no argument about A&M or the longhorns has happened, it was only about money and tv shit happening, you immediately start seething and crying over me when I’ve done absolutely nothing. Or start bringing up Mike Leach in order to try and make me mad. Every fucking thread anon if anyone needs to get over petty bullshit it’s you because I don’t care about everything. You’ll continue to piss yourself all over again and again and again and blame everyone else.

Pretty sure Texas Tech athletics has a website that posts the baseball team schedule, has links to follow the games and may even have social media accounts where you can follow specifically the baseball team. >>
>>141666698
The value you'll get out of ESPN+ increases with the amount of sports you follow. As somebody whose CFB, CBB, MLB and NHL teams all have games on ESPN+ I think it's great. The quality of their streams has improved significantly since it launched.

You have to realize, everyone on /sp/ is a normalfag. If it's not avaliable immediately on ESPN or their local broadcaster it's too much effort for them to watch.
That's why other football that isn't P4 or NFL bothers them, they can't watch it easily. They complain about how things are changing but would never have lived in the era where only a very select amount of national games per week were able to be viewed

Freeze is saving him for a start in the Iron Bowl. All season long ESPN is going to show him "on the road to recover" learning to walk and use the toilet on his own but then on the day of the Alabama game, it will all be revealed to have been an elaborate hoax. Having no current tape on him nor time to watch it if there were, Alabama will be powerless to stop his running attack.
That, or his family abandons him to a government nursing home.

While I had fun in college, I was a poor fag so I wasn't able to maximize partying. My degree was a path out of my white trash background, which meant if there was a conflict between coursework and fun, coursework mostly won out.
I peaked in the second year of my third job after graduation. My manager was an Indian manlet who thought his job was to engage in nonstop pointless battles with other middle managers. It was a great company with great benefits, but that manager sucked. After two years, I started to not care anymore and just coasted for the next five years, slowly dying inside. Eventually I quit, traveled the world, and changed to an adjacent career that has far less poo in it but increasingly more trannies, which matters far less when you work from home.
>>
>>141676029
In other Auburn news, they just offered the son of Chris "Kick Six" Davis a scholarship. He's going to be a high school freshman this season so it's basically a non-binding publicity thing. College football head coaching is more difficult than NFL head coaching, and not because of the difficulty of the game itself. A head football coach at a university is an important member of the community that is the university. An NFL head coach is just a coach.

thats not the midwest. Texas might as well be its own subregion, but traditionally it's part of the southwest, along with New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma. Culturally and historically, these states deal with cattle ranching and indian wars type shit, whereas the midwest has farmland and industry.
Arkansas and Louisiana are part of the South. Louisiana especially has the most french influence out of anywhere, just look at n'awlins. Arkansas is the assfuck nowhere state and I cant really think of a single good thing about it, but I did say it was a Southern state.
The Great Plains, from North Dakota to Kansas, are a bit more significantly different from the rest of the Midwest, but look at their big cities in their eastern counties and you can see that the states are more like Midwest cities in the East that are in charge of vast swaths of farmland and nature reserves to the west.
The Midwest itself extends from the Great Plains to Ohio. The Ohio and Missouri rivers are good, simple indicators for generally what the Midwest entails.
All of this is sort of a moot point, however, since college football conferences have long since given up trying to make sense. I honestly wouldnt mind a soft reset and some kind of heralding of a new era. Anything, really, just make it make sense.

In a roundabout way he's benefiting KU, or at least giving them the opportunity to benefit if they can recruit well enough. You could argue K-State's football success improved high school football in the state of Kansas by making the sport more popular and putting out more good high school coaches who played for Snyder and learned a thing or two from him.

The last few years of high school recruiting in Kansas have been amazing compared to what the state historically produces, and it's not due to a population boom. For 2025 KS has 2 5* recruits, which is unheard of, and 1 of them (TE Linkon Cure) has KU and KSU in his finalists but he's learning KSU. The state's 2025 class also has the 62nd, 102nd and 167th overall recruits.

>A Congressional committee voted Thursday to move forward with a bill that would prevent college athletes from being deemed employees of their schools, conferences or the NCAA.
>The vote in the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce represents the first tangible signs of progress the college sports industry has made in its years-long push for a federal law to help reshape college sports. It comes just weeks after the NCAA and its power conferences announced they have agreed to share significantly more revenue with athletes as part of an antitrust lawsuit settlement.
>The bill, introduced by Rep. Bob Good (R-Virginia) on the same day the antitrust settlement was announced, is in the early stages of the legislative process. It is likely to face opposition from Democrats in the Senate as well as legal challenges if it's passed.
Rep. Lori Trahan (D-Mass.) -- a former college volleyball player who has been an active participant in the Capitol Hill debate on the future of college sports -- said she will vote against Good's bill if it reaches the House floor.
>Democrats in the House and Senate have previously co-sponsored bills that would have the exact opposite effect of Good's bill -- codifying college athletes' right to unionize. Those lawmakers and other advocates say athletes need the ability to bargain collectively to make sure they can negotiate for items such as improved medical care and a fair share of the money they generate for a multibillion-dollar industry.

>The local angle to Neuheisel's opinion involves the University of Utah. In another dream-come-true similar to Utah joining the Pac-12 in 2011, the ex-head coach at Washington, Colorado and UCLA thinks the Utes will join either of the two best football conferences.
>"I will be shocked if they're not in the SEC or the Big Ten by the next go-around, by 2030, because people are going to say, 'We need that team in our league,''' Neuheisel said on his show last week.
Utah to the SEC? Will it happen? Bidding war between the B1G and SEC to get the Utes?
>>
>>141764716
SEC is not going to take Utah, they aren't leaving the Confederate states (mostly because they don't need to). I imagine the Big Ten has already talked to them privately about targets and they've worked shit out about who to take and when if needed.

Ohio State cancelled their game with UConn next year, replacing them with Grambling. This is pretty weird since neither are a conference game, Grambling will be the same day UConn would have been, and they both are single game agreements with no return trip. Ohio State is dodging UConn? Really weird. Grambling might be cheaper than UConn but they have to pay UConn a cancellation fee, so it's probably not even a money thing (and Ohio State has enough money that this is couch cushion money).

Wonder if the SEC and B1G are going to stop scheduling regular season games against each other to avoid playoff rematches. Plus by scheduling ACC and Big XII games instead of P2, there isn't a guaranteed P2 loss, making it easier for them to argue for more of their own teams getting in to the playoffs.

Ohio State will save a small amount of money. UConn was going to cost them $1.95 million and they're paying $650,000 to get out of the game. They're paying Grambling one million, netting the Buckeyes a savings of $300k. This almost certainly isn't about money and probably isn't even about any kind of worry that UConn could come into Columbus and sneak out a win. It's a virtue signal by scheduling a HBCU. Other Big Ten teams will follow suit, much like UCLA started doing a few years ago. HBCUs mean getting away with playing an FCS team for less money but no one can criticize you for doing it.

>our big facility upgrades when interest rates were low
Looks like South Florida wishes they had been able to do that.
>Fast forward to June and September 2023 and the terms of the Truist bonds are presented first to the USF Board of Trustees (June) and then to the Florida State Board of Governors (September). The recommended terms with Truist were $200 million with a 20-year term at an interest rate of 6.68% (Figure 4). The first three years during construction of the stadium are interest-only payments, and the payment after construction is estimated at $17.7 million per year (versus CSL’s pro forma at $8.7 million).
https://billfarley.substack.com/p/private-capital-stings-the-university
>USF ended up closing the loan in December 2023 at a slightly lower interest rate of 6.48%, but a higher annual payment of $19.6 million a year (versus $8.7 million per year in CSL’s pro forma which used public financing)(Figure 8). The jump in payments appears to be due to an error in the amortization table presented to the USF Board of Trustees and the Florida State Board of Governors in June and September 2023.
Looks like USF has financially crippled themselves for decades with bad funding for their stadium. They have to make almost $20 million per year just for payments on their stadium. Easy for an SEC team, not so easy for a G5. If you're a student at USF, expect those athletics fees to increase rapidly.
>>
If someday Congress or the Department of Education bans the use of student loans for paying athletics fees, most of FCS and the G5 will end up bankrupt. Even without the burden of Title IX, most of those departments can't survive without student fees.
>>
>>141785759
The b12 relegated themselves with a lot of dumbass kneejerk panic additions
>>
>>141787897
They'd be better off without the eastern flank of the conference but at the time they were fighting for survival and made a deal with the G5 devil. They had no way of knowing the PAC12 would kill itself. And since the Big XII is where ESPN put the money it had earmarked for the PAC12, it's possible that had they not stabilized the conference, that ESPN would have made a counteroffer to the PAC12 instead of walking away from the negotiation.
>>
>>141787952

>A former college football player pleaded guilty Monday in a scheme to fraudulently obtain COVID-related unemployment benefits, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
>Abdul-Malik McClain, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud for orchestrating a scheme that netted $283,063 and sought at least $1,056,092, the Justice Department said in a news release.
>McClain engineered the scheme with other football players while he was attending USC in 2020. He subsequently transferred to Jackson State, where he played one season, in 2021, at linebacker.
The Justice Department said the government authorized Bank of America to issue debit cards to the players, which they allegedly used to make cash withdrawals to fund personal expenses. In some instances, McClain "sought and obtained a cut of the fraudulently obtained benefits for helping others file fraudulent UI applications," the government said.
>McClain, who originally pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of mail fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles in December 2021, is set to be sentenced Sept. 16. He faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.

If Florida loses there will be nothing but "Burnt like Brody" and "Roasted like Rex" jokes whenever Florida loses again this coming up season.

Maybe it's just me but I think UCF has serious growth potential. They have a huge enrollment, they're in a recruiting hotbed and they've had past success. I could see them putting together something special if they go on a run.
>>
>>141815649
Yeah, serious growth potential like a wart on your dick. Just because it's bigger doesn't mean it's any nicer to play with.
>>
Is Florida sending in a right fielder to pitch? The fuck?

UCF is bascially a community college, why would you go there if you could go play sports at a real college?
>>

Embarassing, bet that one who has the Omaha police acct. is a female. I smell a lawsuit coming for these pigs and do we have a vid for this acct.

Look on the bright side, at least those two dead burnt-up kids didn't have to witness this butchery. They just had to witness their cucked dad butchering one or the other first.

Need to know the full story of this, I heard Florida Men's Baseball coach fucked the dead kids mother?
>>
>>141816068
>“You should have put your family first,” he wrote. “Now it's too late. You're so selfish. You're going to live with this the rest of your life."
>Paul Reinhart, a popular, gregarious figure across social and political circles, is suspected of killing his sons, Rex, 14, and Brody, 11, earlier this week, then starting a fire at his family’s waterfront vacation home near Suwannee before killing himself, too.
Pretty much. Killed the two kids, set the vacation waterfront home on fire, then killed himself.
>It is the story of irrational vengeance, two young boys who will never grow old, and a mother’s worst nightmare.
Mama is living her best life with the guy she was fucking without the two rugrats she probably hated in tow, she's living the dream. Motherfucker looked like Gomez Addams.

That's her husband. Ex-husband, I suppose, since he's dead. He was a booster, wife was probably one of those girls who "escort" athletes on campus to entice them to commit.
>>
>>141816237
Thanks, fucked up shit but still did the Gators Baseball coach fuck the two dead boys wife before he found out?
>>
>>141816269
Yes. That's what the two A&M fans were heckling him about, the guy went nuts when he found out she was fucking the coach.
>>

Fucking lol and it's very much deserved to be shamed and heckled for a long time. I hope those two A&M fans sue the fuck outta of the Omaha PD for stupid shit.

Look on the bright side, their dad shot them first and they're probably in Purgatory suffering for however long that's gonna take since they likely didn't die in a state of grace due to the fact their mother is a whore and their father was the product of a dysfunctional family himself.

I'm not a theologian and there's no holy text that I'm aware of that states this but it seems like if you get killed that young, your soul should be recycled and sent back for a second chance. Adults are judged by the lives they lived with full freedom of choice but children never reach the point where they have much control over their lives so why judge them on it?

Completely wrong business model. Keeping it a regional conference is what will draw student-athletes to the schools. Eventually these kids are going to get sick of traveling 4-5 hours across country and will transfer to their local regional conference when the bag disappears.

The Pac-?? should be...
Wazzu, Oregon State, Boise State, San Jose State, Fresno State, Nevada, UNLV, San Diego State.
>>
>>141816275
God damn, that is some top tier banter
>>
>>141822669
no extra money in that, you might as well have the pac go to the mountain west at that point. Travel is still mostly okay, the longest trips are 4-5 hours but the shortest are 2-3 in the air, on top of avoiding the eastern seaboard. 12 teams ensures you don't have to affiliate your non-revenue sports too often and increases your market presence. best of the rest scenario could probably net 1/3-1/2 of the big 12 and acc, which would be a big jump for the new schools.
>>
>>141818540
Not if you’re above the age of reason and didn’t take communion.
>>
>>141822669
Drop Boise and you get an all Pacific Time Zone conference. Or add Utah State, which is in Logan, not all that far from Boise (relatively speaking). This also opens the advantage of having an nine team conference: four home conference games, four away conference games. No one gets an advantage during years when they have four home games and only three away games.
At that point however, you're mostly a relabeled Mountain West, minus the eastern most teams, plus WOSU.
>>
>>141825461
>didn’t take communion.
Pretty shitty gotcha considering it's not up the kids if they end up receiving communion or not.
>>
>>141825461
I’m starting to think the concept of hell as described in the Bible is incompatible with an all-loving God.
>>
>>141826924
Purgatory isn’t hell, technically. The Catholics cooked it up because they can’t let Jesus be the only judge of people.
>>
>>141825606
That’s why it’s called the age of reasons. Catholics say that when you’re like 7 years old you’re old enough to make decisions like that and you need to confess and be allowed to take holy communion.

Seven year olds can't drive themselves to communion classes. Not sure where you're trying to go with this but it has nothing to do with college sports. Take your ideological axe somewhere else to grind it.
>>141825530
Merge the two conferences into the Pacific Mountain Conference and have open membership for any FBS school in the Pacific or Mountain time zones. Off the top of my head, I think that would only add UTEP and New Mexico State. Neither is a great add but if the conference switched to open bidding media rights and round robin selection, it wouldn't matter if some programs were less valuable than others.
FCS move ups would be far less likely than in the past due to the $5,000,000 FBS entry fee. Only the California FCS schools could come up with that dough. Weber State and Utah Tech aren't moving up at that price.

I don't have any axe to grind. It is what it is.
