Palladium Games and Rifts General: Pretty Demon Edition.

The world is a broken, post-apocalyptic wasteland destroyed by the eruption of inter-dimensional portals, rifts in the fabric of space-time and ley lines which crisscross the world. Demon & alien invaders have poured out of the rifts to destroy human civilization and claim the Earth. Now the wasteland has had 300 years to partially recover, and civilization has returned to the world; but not just human civilization: alien empires, monster kingdoms, lost time travellers, lands of mutants, demonic overlords and wizards have arisen from the ashes, all trying to rebuild the world in their own image!

For a game all about "demons emerging from the rifts" there is surprisingly little for how to make these demons. The RMB had some good tables for it (attached) but the RUE is missing them. Dark Conversions had a lot of MDC demons and dyvals but many of them are tied to specific settings (like Nightbane) or locales, not random.

I think the Hades and Dyval books had lots of different demons, but I haven't read those.

Better layout, chapter, indexing. Yeah, all those, obviously. But from a mechanics standpoint I'd:

>consolidate all the saves into 8 or fewer
>reduce the skills list (7 types of horse-riding, et al.)
>summarize all the different schools of magic available (without going in-depth, that's for the extra books)
>split the rules into a single main rulebook + rifts campaign setting
>have a single, clear, short combat section that includes all forms of combat: melee, ranged, magic, psionics
>add rules for hacking, computer networks, cyberspace
>add more random generation tables for encounters, demons, locations, dimensions

Not that I ever saw, although Brodkil could possibly resemble it if they did cybernetics on just one half of their body. It was always just a Rifts logo, to my knowledge, showing the mixture of magic + supertechnology.

This was the last prompt I used although I went through a bunch of variations on "graphic design", "logo art" and various artists. Did over a 100 images and got maybe 20 good ones.

Actually yes. Sometimes my party fights beefy robots or have special weapons that deliberately induce damage effect rolls. Obviously, losing life support on a robot doesn't make sense so I reroll when that happens.

Sure. There were a lot of variations as you can see with different artists, backgrounds, etc. but the main of it was:

I've been on a fallout kick lately and was wondering, what is Los Vegas like in Rifts? Does it have a Mega Rat Pack? Is the Strip some ethereal psychic Dreamland?

It's been mostly destroyed but of course it's also the secret home of Bandito Arms, at it's Area 51/Nellis Air Force Base superfactory location where it makes all its advanced hardware..

But there's no reason you can't have a MegaRat Pack (lol) in your game, alongside a Mr House or other local minor player which BA ignores and who doesn't have any influence outside of the small urban area of Las Vegas. Maybe he runs the casinos for all the lonely psi-stalkers and simvan types in the New West.

I agree, though in my western US (or south western) Rifts campaigns I tend to use a lot more humans, borgs, grackletooth, and giant monsters.

I think psistalkers and simvans would be big on gambling on snuff fights. Simvams round up monsters and wizards and psistalkers get off on their PPE hitting the ether.

Can you even ride dragons in Palladium as a whole? The sentient ones are pricks and too strong to be tamed out the gate and non sentient ones are never talked about being ridden or demotivated. Then again there is a ton of PF stuff so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a dragon rider OCC or something.

Gods and dragons book has a god riding a dragon but I didn't read anything about it.

Barely. In triax, uranium rounds for guns stop regeneration until they are removed.

Heroes unlimited has raditon sickness in its Control Radiation power snd lists it as nasuae, shiting blood and a whole lot of other things along with 3d6 sdc damage daily intil treated.

The combat penalties are halving your PE and all bonuses, skill and speed reduced by 10%, reduced melees by one, then it says that immediate treatment will mean 3d4 days to recover and an additional 3 days for every day they do not seek treatment.

I've seen other systems simplify that to just saying all your stats are halved and you suffer a damage tick until you get cured.

It was about the one major power group of the Three Galaxies missing loads of lore (not counting cosmo-knights and other super high tier shit), it was supposed to have all of the space techno-wizardry that is kind of necessary to know what power levels TW has in 3G given they keep harping on about how it's far better than the tech due to the dwarven influence but not mass-market capable, and according to the writer it had a whole section on religion within the 3G, various cults (good and bad), and how the gods that are fucking around in space factor in.

Allegedly the reason for the cancellation is because it had references to content from Rifts or Palladium Fantasy in it, and this was during that phase where Kevin was trying to separate all of the properties to better separate them for licensing deals since he thought the movie was definitely going to happen.
