Even if you can defeat Empedocles somehow, you aren't the strongest. Creation and Reason are still stronger than her. Checkmate.
>>93157567Escapism is a lie, there is no escape.
I like "wish fulfillment" and "power fantasy" as much as the next guy, but I don't need every CYOA to have everything I want, and I also enjoy scenarios with difficulties, dangers, and tough decisions

>>93156912THis one doesn't appeal much to me, but I like the slickness of its layout and overall graphical design.
>>93157391I think you should make a familiar advantage, rate it maybe 1-3 (or maybe 1-5, maybe with the highest ranks exclusively for summonses.) With a menu of powers/natures a familiar can have (e.g. take human form, use powers in human form, use illusions, etc.) and a point budget that increases as you spend more points in the perk. Then an optional perk after that which lets you spend an equal number of points on a second familiar (probably restrict this to Summoners) for those who want a pair of Tailed Beasts from Naruto (that turn into Kitsune chicks). If so, make sure you balance the cosy of familiars against the cost of companions. At present a single companion point can get you a low-rank mage commoner ally or friendship with the *strongest mage in the setting*. I'd personally make normal companions cost 1 point, Archmages cost 2, and have Auctors cost more points the closer your relationship is with them:At 1: Acquaintances. Perhaps you earned the right to attend a once a year masterclass with 19 other mages, taught by the actor themselves, and as such they they stay up to date on your doings and you're prioritised over normies if you seek an audience. Maybe they knew your parents. You have tea every midsummer with them etc etc.At 2: Allies. You know them as well as one so young can. You might have to make an appointment to see them as they're so busy but you'll GET that appointment. You're likely to be actively working with them/studying under them.At 3: Besties. You're either a close personal friend who can drop in at will, a trusted ally, someone they owe big time, their child, or their spouse. Also, I have almost no idea about the personalities of most characters, they need a bit more dialogue that isn't just suspicious "oh hello cop what's up cop"
>>93158728*summoners*CostAutocorrect.
I want to make an MMO-themed cyoa where you play as a Tank, Support, or DPS character. What are some unique abilities to give the classes?
>>93158959Tank - Defend Others, CounterattackSupport - Buff, DebuffDPS - Combo, Defense Down
>>93158728>they need a bit more dialogue that isn't just suspicious "oh hello cop what's up cop"ENTER BantzLoli.
>>93141278>North>Wuxian>Fist>Beast King>Melody>Dark HeavenMelody is cute. And I am the strongest. I will just punch away my problems. Martial chads won again.
>>93157391>I see. I'll just shelve custom familiars.no, custom familiars and summons are absolutely the way to go. A page with a small bestiary of types and letting the player choose is absolutely the way to go unless you're going to make familiars fleshed out characters like evoco and the auspices. Player choice is absolutely the way to go, dont let one nigger ruin familiars for everyone else
>>93158959depends, are you going into classes of those archetypes of those classes or are you doing literally just 'tank, support, dps'. You posted Final fantasy art, so stuff like having defensive tanks with different substyles like offensive tanks, healing tanks, buffing, debuffing and healing supports, pure immobile blaster dps or fast ninja dps, summoner or hybrid wildcards who can do some or any role, etc. You have a lot of options for different classes that fit within each archetype and are distinct
>>93158999Only "fake ass mage" was good. But yes I want Bants.
>>93156912Husanon here I just wanted to say that I'm working on something. It is similar to Godly Husbandry. With a better developed power section and hopefully better characterisation for the waifus.

>>93161024Man I never posted my build. I'll pass cause the hype has probably passed, but yeah objectively people played the hell out of it. We complain about its problems because we otherwise like it. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.>>93161486I'm well aware that A: anime characters aren't real, at all, B: lots of 'adult' anime characters are obviously designed to look like children, C: lots of 'child' anime characters look, act and are treated as adults (Jojo I'm looking at you) and D: Being attracted to obviously attractive sexual traits on a cartoon character who looks like a hot 20-something isn't suddenly paedophilia because someone draws the number '17' next to their head. Stephen King wrote a bunch of realistically written 12 year old characters fucking in a sewer. THAT'S fucked up.My definition of adult in this case is basically a character who looks adult, doesn't talk like a little kid, and isn't using some "SHE LOOKS 9 BUT SHE'S TOTALLY 90000 YEARS OLD" thing. I really don't care if said character uses a picture of like, 16 year old naruto or 17 year old Rin Tohsaka, they look nothing like actually children anyway.I've met actual teenagers as an adult. They really aren't attractive. I've had child cousins. If someone had tried to do something sexual with them I'd soak them in oil and burn them.
>>93165673>Can't you I dunno wait to fuck your wife a couple years? That's literally grooming. It's fantasy, not reality, but it's a grooming fantasy. If you can't see why that's suspect to some then you're as autistic as >>93165275Not worth throwing a shitfit over but then I'm ot the one who brough it up.
>>93161959Because you're playing a Magi Investigator, so everyone treats you with suspicion. We get one, maybe two paragraphs of dialogue from each character, that never displays their normal personality because they're talking to a detective.I LIKE playing a detective. I LOVE several of the cases. But the cases are like a page. And the entire character section feels like a police line up.
>>93165917I can see that but anons regularly commit fantasy murder/genocide and no one bats an eye.I also agree that it should not be woth fighting over.

>>93166394Hag?
>>93159057>A page with a small bestiary of types and letting the player choose is absolutely the way to go.This is already the idea I had in mind with the Familiar section of the CYOA. If you take Monster Caremenship (Educated Talent) or afforded other choices (Familiar Master, Etc) you can acquire familiars. Which is a list of different mythological and OC monsters based on their types (Beast, Fairy, Demon, Artificial) featuring a description and what they can do for you.The custom part was for actual customization of companion familiars like you would see in Lamentation Comrade Add-On, but entirely different in options / presentation / materials.>>93162065Lamentations R~ is still in-development as some elements of the CYOA have been reorganized. The R~ Update will help present a better adventure especially since it fill feature main antagonists in the form of the Enigmas and Old Directorate. that you will face. Human companions will re-implemented instead of rush-cut like in 2.0. >>93165966> We get one, maybe two paragraphs of dialogue from each character, that never displays their normal personality because they're talking to a detective. This will be addressed in Redux since some wanted more personal details and activities of mages like Elspeth (Her playing fighting games) in the CYOA.>. But the cases are like a page.I thought 12 cases would be enough and assumed the hidden cases would help. I was told to remove hidden cases (Make a separate page for them in the back) and to bolster case numbers from 12 to more. I now have Primary Cases (Your Job / Magi Society Related) and Secondary Cases (Companions / Character / Clan-related Cases). Elspeth's Civil War, Mircea's War on Vampires, Aozdou Conspiracy, the Evoco Sealing Project, etc are all now Secondary Cases with their own description of events and possible outcomes.
>>93166041> Intrinsic Stars > Intrinsic Inspiration> Intrinsic Creatures> Intrinsic SpiritsSummon stuff, mind control them to work for me and make myself and them really lucky. Then spread them far and wid and hope one of them stumbles across a portal.
>>93166500The main narrator had a tutor, you get her as a companion if you help her out.
>>93166041>Intrinsic:Memory, Inspiration, Debilitation, TelepathyI'll mind control people to gather resources and find portals. I won't use the portals myself because I seek other, more beneficial, win conditions, but I'll sell their locations to others. In case I die and reincarnate, I'll take full advantage of my memory and insert extremely complex and subtle mental triggers, different for every mind slave, for easy mind control reestablishment.
>>93166510I'm this anon>>93165966And I'm happy to hear most of these changes. I'm sorry if I sound whiny considering how big magi case is and how long it took, I only gripe because I care. Now, for some advice:>12 cases would be enoughI didn't say that it wasn't. I'm saying they were one page. I spent 25 or so pages of reading to prepare for a cases that were a few paragraphs long each, and two of them weren't cases, they were Teaching and Retiring, which are fine things, but they make the list of actual cases even shorter. One thing you could do is write a first page describing a case, and second page describing its possible outcomes. Like "unlock a secret of Ford magic" was listed as a possible reward for one of them. What secret? Why do I care? Is it only usable by Materialisation mages? Also:What cocktails would Jie, Stacy, Asteris and Cynthia like? And how do they feel about guys with abs? I need workout motivation.
>>93166582Oh so hag as in witch. Thought you were one of those guys who seethe about women over 20 for a second. My bad.
>>93166669No, I meant hag as in an older woman. She was her main caretaker and tutor as a child. It's not going to be her Chun-Li is just an example hag.
>>93166510Oh, continuing from here:>>93166649More details are fantastic, but I think in general we need more dialogue from each character to help establish their actual tone. One of the things I like about Cynthia is that she comes across as prim and proper in her dialogue, and the teaching stuff she asks about gives us something I can imagine actually spending time with her talking about, and how she'd sound while talking about it.Stacy's option to be the rogue mage from her background, plus her just. Just using some slang, means she sounds distinct and there's a clear option for how to have a history with her that's easy to imagine and sets up fun interactions.Asteris is formal like most of them, but she's an archmage, that's fine. What I don't like is that the extra dialogue for if you're a mature investigator feels pointless. It's just her stating facts when it could be something like her being informal, friendly, or even vulnerable (expressing doubts about her support of her Auctor maybe?). Though again, I like her calling us 'old friend', stuff like that makes picking mature investigator actually appealing. As for Jie, I like her dialogue a lot. Especially her second paragraph. That bit there made me want to lock in for 'marry her and show her life outside rigid clan structure' route. However that brings me to another idea:I think marriageable characters should have a paragraph of dialogue set aside for 'if they're your spouse' and a bit of description somewhere of what married life with them is like.Aside from that, as I've said in the past, your magic descriptions need to use a bit less technobabble and a bit more powerscaling, and characters need a bit of info on how they like to fight, or what job they do, how they do it etc.For example: you once said Jie's fighting style would involve her drawing her sword, then everything around her being slashed apart by sword qi.That's awesome. Why isn't it in her writeup?
>>93166755Chun li is actually an older woman so OK.

I'm close to finishing Ecclesiastes CYOA. All that is left is mostly Companion profiles and Catastrophes (Main Antagonists, think Overlords from JRPG Traitor) then throwing it all into Photoshop. Though, I'm flip-flopping on companions as I have great images for near-contemporary characters and then character art with more fantasy aesthetics, and I sort of don't want to waste them but also not clash with the CYOA's presentation. The CYOA takes place in a JRPG fantasy world that progressed to near-contemporary times (it's honestly a mix-match of technology from different eras.), but has trappings of the Renaissance period and existence of nobility socially-politically-militarily, and most armies are still fielding swords/crossbows/pikes.

>>93168300>What's it about? It's a CYOA set in a near-contemporary fantasy world where the authority of nature has been overthrown by humanity and children of the gods (Beasts) are forced to wander as outcasts of the land after the Mythological War countless centuries ago. You take on the role of a Marshal Lord, an autonomous lord (Warlord) who is responsible for keeping the wandering Beast Tribes in check (Genocide / Calamity War) so they cannot revive their slain gods / re-establish dominance and is called upon as a neutral arbiter to affairs done by city-states / other Lords. The meat of the CYOA is about building yourself up as the Marshal Lords are confirmed as humanity's strongest (The only ones that can rival them are: Divinity and Heroes from the Mythological Era, both which are incapacitated and dead). Organizing your Marshal Forces / the official policies you hold, selecting the Beast Tribes that will be your Nemesis (Recurring antagonists), taking on different inquiries (Intermissions) that lead you to travel with your Subordinate Officers to distant cities / settlements / places to confront ancient / nascent evils or lords threatening the peace or taking part in transpiring events, and lastly confronting a Catastrophe that will attempt to overturn the world's order to spill doom for the era. The waifu options are either your Vice-Lord (Commander) and Subordinate Officers (Party Members). Don't know about including Divine Beasts since that's been getting negative feedback since people don't want to take an actual drawback from making a deal with divinity to gain a free waifu and conceptual power-up.

>>93167790I really like Fairy Queen, although I'd have liked to see a section on what the fairies of each element tend to be like. Not knowing is making me hesitant to pick certain elemental options, since (you) will be surrounded by them for the rest of (your) life.Oh, and if (you) really want to build an empire, and fully live up to the "queen" title, pick "Twinned Element" twice. I don't expect dealing with him will be too difficult though. With my rich parents, I can get myself a silenced weapon and track down where the troublesome teacher lives. It won't be hard to eliminate him after that.As for the bullies, I don't know if every little girl student is immortal or just me, but if they're immortal too they're gonna wish they weren't. I'll stalk the bullies, find the easiest target, learn her schedule, and eventually make my move. While disguised, I'll capture her, torture and mutilate her, and make sure she gets the memo to tell her bully friends to quit or I'll come for them next and I'll be even more brutal then. That should stop them, but it's possible they'll need one more example. After that, I'm sure bullying will never be an issue again.I'm sure the goddess won't have a problem with this. After all, she created this bully scenario, and even proposed having children be abducted or the pleasant city being invaded by soldiers. Honestly she's the real monster. >>93176541Serious response, although I'm really only saying this purely because I'm tired of seeing that point tossed around as some supposed catch-all anti-proof of divine love. The "point" of evil is choice. If you have no choice but to be good, then there is no meaning to choosing it. If you cannot even conceive of evil at all, there is no meaning to conceiving of good. Similarly, actions must have consequences for them to be meaningful. Therefore, for the good/evil dichotomy to have meaning whatsoever, there must necessarily exist evil actions that warrant punitive consequences. Whether eternal suffering is a worthy consequence for anything less than perfect good is a different argument entirely, but the basic state of humanity in an imperfect world serves some purpose in a philosophical sense that's not merely "for the lolz," and there are certainly people who choose to be evil in a way that renders them culpable for their actions. This isn't really any form of proselytization; I'm just saying there are more nuanced ways to think about it (and any other religion, whether real-life or fantasy-based) than the typical braindead take of "evil exists therefore a God who allows it to cannot be good" that the modern age is so enamored with despite how it crumbles under the scrutiny of five seconds of critical thinking.>>93176568Unironically you can identify spiritual infants by overuse of that phrase. There is so much that can be known, but people don't want to fuckin READ anything these days. They park their asses in the pew, and then it goes in one ear and out the other, and then they spend six and a half days living like the rest of the world. A true shame.
>>93176952There is no choice. God created everything and knows how things will play out, God chose for everything, so choice is fake. Unless God is not omniscient, this is the logical conclusion.
>>93177062Correctly predicting the choice of another is not the same as deciding for them, anon.
>>93177086I see that God made you too retarded to see simple logic.
>>93177136>>93177148He certainly made me autistic, but that is more of a boon here than anything. Whether you believe in free will, random will, or absolute fate, there's no reason that "knowing the future/all possible futures at the moment of creation" removes choice from the actors who live within that future. They choose as they will, and it is simply known up above what that choice will be before it happens. Free will and omniscience can coexist just fine. There is no reason they cannot.
>>93177195>there's no reason that "knowing the future/all possible futures at the moment of creation" removes choice from the actors who live within that futureOh but there is. God made everything while knowing what will happen, God chose to make things the way they are, God chose everything, God chose for everything.Everything you do is dictated by your creator, God, right from the start and He chose all you will ever choose. I say this invalidates all choice, you may think otherwise, but either way, whether one has choice or not is irrelevant as you will do what God made you to do.God made us discuss this.
>>93177350Once again, that does not prevent you from also choosing and happening to make the exact same choice.Envision a box. Everything in that box is real. it is filled with people and life and a whole world full of will and choice. Then, a creator comes by when all is said and done in the box, declaring that he, indeed, created the box and all that was in it. That does not just invalidate the choices made within the box.Logically, God "choosing" whatever happened at the start (however much that is or is not true is irrelevant) does not preclude you from also having true choice and merely happening to choose whatever your creator predicted you to choose. Yes, it is astronomically unlikely... for an imperfect being to do. But anything that is capital-G God, by definition, is an apex existence. Perfect. Infinite ability. To make a very modern example out of it, imagine making a Minecraft world from a random seed, but because you know the noise algorithms in your head, you can 100% predict what each block will be as you arrive at it. You did not choose what each block is. You merely set the initial conditions and yet can know, omnisciently, with 100% accuracy, what each block will be. That does not mean you are deigning, declaring, or choosing what each block is. That is simply not how the logic flows.
>>93177411>anything that is capital-G God, by definition, is an apex existence. Perfect. What drawbacks? What power-up do we get? And what kind of waifu do we get?The drawback is that if you want to keep relying on power of the divines, you will need to fulfill their commandment which is related to their nature. For example, one divine beast represents nature Consumption (Pic Related) (The actual impulsive need/desire to eat and general overindulgence) for her Commandment, you basically need to feed her what she asks. You can't just go to the grocery store, throw a steak on the grill, and then toss it on a plate in front of her. She'll still eat it, but that's not what she wants from you. You'll have to spice-it up, if she wants something specific (Ex: Dragon), you'll have to go find a Dragon, shoot it down from the sky, rip out its wings, kill it, then cut off the Round of the beast, then prepare it and turn it into a gourmet meal with some kind of side dishes and show for her to enjoy while eating. There is also a chance she might ask for something special like preparing an innocent child's heart as a refined meal in a ritual as a sign of continued devotion to her. In return for doing her tasks, not only do you get her as a Summon you also get her power to devour anything, literally just bite it out of reality or "eat" anything in range to place them in a series of endless bottomless pocket-dimensions stomachs that can store anything without any form degradation.

>>93176952Firstly, there are already plenty of evil acts we can't choose to do, so by this logic being good already has no meaning.Secondly, this doesn't solve the problem of natural evil. There are plenty of bad things in this world that don't happen as a result of human choice.Thirdly, God already has to pick and choose which humans he's going to create, and he already knows exactly how each of them is going to turn out. He could very easily just create more Gandhi's and less Hitlers for instance. Finally, God already mind controlled a dude to do evil in the bible. He literally admitted to creating evil.

Logically it should have free will, right?>QEDInstead of hypotheticals, let's start with examining what makes a choice a choice. And what properties in the world you think would dequalify it.
