The skill itself is not about using psy, it's about specifically theory and phenomena. It makes it sound a lot more like something they study instead. Mastery is about teaching it and recreating the implants, so at least the teaching part I can understand as social but everything else does not make much sense.

The only thing I can say is that much like how Explosives and Tactics are Combat instead of Science, it's probably more of a narrative theming rather than a direct admission that there isn't psionic academia. It's the classic Warrior - Rogue - Mage trifecta; technically speaking only Mage has ever had reason to stand on its own, but it works for the purposes of games by theme.

Absolute huge, monstrously strong and tough, but clumsy and direct. Whenever something like VR Training, Second Hand or the like shows up, presume it represents brutally effective but inefficient, high maintenance and unwieldly outdated technology across the entire range (not just 2 picks).

Пeтp technically has the capacity to use guns and probably wields things like full-scale shotguns as a sidearm. He's not a terrifically good shot though and prefers to get up close and personal with the kind of tools only someone of his size could use. Breaching axes/hammers, drills, rock saws, metal cutters and other industrial equipment that would absolutely ruin anyone's day but is usually too unwieldy for people to use in combat. Anyone with a good sense for tactics and fighting knows he'd probably do better with real weapons but it scares the shit out of most people.

As for how it's stored, since he's at least a little more advanced in real-life I presume he has an omni-applicable motor and swaps out the heads between drills, chainsaws, cutters, pneumatic hammers and the like. He carries it all in boxes, he's not going anywhere quick anyway.

Updated build to be more appropiate to my vision of it and to address different situations. I dropped athletics from mastery to just VR because I actually misread it the first time and I was sure it made you stronger when it does not. I dropped 2 gene mods because I realized that stronger muscles and stronger bones are useless if you don't have either of those, and I took Cybernetics mastery instead. I also found and edited a better picture that has the tail too. Mechanically he is pretty much the same, just better at the things he was supposed to do before. Now with 50% more mad scientist and 50% less misreadings.

TLDR: A fairly chill ninja who loves to eat, smoke and relax because there's nothing else to do in his "pacifist" home village, with a boring upbringing, having been raised by two untalented journeyman ninja who relied completely on their Kekkei Genkei. Zushi has inherited those Kekkei Genkei, but he actually has the innate talent to use them effectively. He discovers the thrill of bloody combat in the Chunin exams and it opens up a whole new side of him. He's been recruited by Inaba but has no particular moral inclination for doing so - he just wants to fight and eat and smoke and enjoy the finer things in life.

Zushi's fighting style is built around Taijutsu, using his Multi-Size and Physique Modification to fight at a range that his opponent's can't match, using stretched out limbs to hit from unusual angles. He's a counter-striker, and is starting to develop the ability to further change his physique with elemental spear to nullify opponent's blows and answer with his own. He can use Ninjutsu against long-range attackers, using Oil Style and Ash style to slow down opponents and mess with their line of sight, as well as throwing fireballs and gusts of wind. He's also developed his own unique version of grappling, which he uses to incapacitate opponents and drain their chakra.

Grok's story for left for dead + identity theft is that the assassin who eliminated his client impersonated the bodyguard to get close to his target and sent Grok far away alive so he could blame the murder on him to cover his tracks. So now Grok not only lost his connections, but he is wanted by the Empire for treason.
It's a bit more extreme than the actual drawback so I don't plan to be hunted forever to death, it's just a way to create a story for him. He'll eventually clear the misunderstanding and will try to find the real assassin to prove his innocence.
But yeah he is illiterate and bad with modern tech.

I'm writing something about the Shiketsu student body's reaction to Sandatsu's school quirking and a thought occurred to me. This isn't the first time the security measures were heightened on the campus this year, what with the foiled invasion of villains that we had to handwave over. Back then, a bunch of the nameless and faceless student NPCs transferred out and there was a PR nightmare. Now, with one of the kids murdered and it being a major news item, the families who were on the fence about it definitely put their foot down, and there's undoubtedly a lot of parents of Hero course students that are having the danger of the occupation thrown in their face in a very real way. A lot of them are going to force their kid out of the program and probably out of the school entirely out of fear that they'll end up dying young - whether in Shiketsu, which they no longer trust, or as a low-ranked pro in adulthood. No one wants to outlive their kid.

So here's the question. Who gets pulled out of the school? I have some ideas in the NPC classes already (though if anyone particularly wants So-and-So ejected, I'll write it in) but does anyone in 1-F or 1-D get removed? Is it with or without the kid's consent? Do they give up their dream or do they try to go pro without the training or do they even go full vigilante? I'll keep tinkering but I want to know other people's thoughts too.

Tough one but have you considered taking the cloak and messing with the usual consistency? Naruto's cloak is like boiling liquid to represent his anger, Lee's is more explosive energy to represent his personality. What about some kind of misty/inky energy that flows outwards or downwards instead of burning upwards? Almost like a liquid that stains the air as it drips or something.

Many of the chakra modes in the canon were just normal auras, equally as many took on animalistic characteristics like the cat or the peacock in the filler episodes about the space rock. Pretty much anything works so long as it's obvious and represents chakra leaking from the body.

They've already agreed that Rinka's angel mode is higher skill than Eiken's sage mode, so that's in R's favor. Obviously, Eiken's Taijutsu is way better than Rinka's, so that's in E's favor. Their speeds are about the same, and Rinka's fighting style is dodgy anyway.

Water chakra beats Earth chakra. That's in R's favor. The village will is boosted more in Rinka's case, so chakra juicing is in R's favor. Normally, Eiken's special skill and chakra moding would be a big benefit to his Earth jutsus, but Dark fully counters physical emanations like that, so it's in R's favor. They have comparable chakra pools so Eiken can't win on magical endurance. Eiken can't summon, so the companion animal is irrelevant. Eiken's petrification allows him to outlast in physical conflicts, so endurance and regeneration are in E's favor.

The only way Eiken can even make it an even fight is to specifically abuse Rinka's drawbacks. If there were odds being placed on the matches, Rinka would be the favorite to win, and Eiken would be the long shot that gives a better payout. It is less logical for Eiken to win the match if you objectively compare their abilities.

In case he turns up in the writeup at all (no pressure) I've considered him only being able to speak very distorted machine Russian as part of the bit so he otherwise has to communicate through action but I'm not sure yet.
