TTRPGs are like the one place where AI art is actually ethical. Nobody was going to commission art for every single random NPC. Most players don't even have the money to commission an artist for their own PC, and that's ignoring how long it can take for an artist to make the commission. Before AI you had people ripping off random pieces of art they found online and we all know they weren't crediting the artist for "random peasant #5". The actual problem is that all of the AI image generators have gone to shit over the course of the last year because the more images they generate, the more people post those images online, and then the AI starts using its own generations as a reference and it suffers model death where now everyone has instagram cheekbones.
