Genuine question from a newish shrimp. Is ADB generally disliked or attributed to something negative in the lore? Some comment from the last thread had me surprised. I've read 25 HH books and all Siege of Terra, never read a 40k book. He's one of only two authors I'd say hasn't missed for me, so far.

I'm reading Era of Ruin and some of it is good but it really fucking cheapens the muteness of the Sisters of Silence when even random fucking army corporals understand thoughtmark and can trade grim quips with them. A Sister of Silence getting to enjoy a bit of camaraderie with baseline soldiers would hit harder if they couldn't directly communicate.
