I was diving in the archives and discovered this thing that /tg/ made a long time ago. Catgirls + an underwater world. It looks like the project withered away and everyone involved left this board ten or so years ago. So, how was it? Did it ever get off the ground?
I wanted to ask, however small the odds, but does anyone have these pictures? They 404'd when clicked on in the archives. It's a bit of a shame that a good portion of the original artwork surrounding this project is now lost to time. I wonder where the artists that were involved in this project are these days.
>>97373285It did, then they killed 1d4 chan because jealousy.Welcome to the board you wanted and worked towards.
>>97373285Withered? I'm pretty sure it was done.
>>97373364Was that drawn for it?It's sad to think people would just AI this sort of thing now.
though, if making a new version, I think basing it off of Ryuutama would be sufficent.

>>97373285>and discovered this thing that /tg/ made a long time agoExtremely painful and upsetting sentence to read.
>>97373671Also all the stuff survived via 1d6chanhttps://1d6chan.miraheze.org/wiki/Setting:CATastrophe
>>97373674Some of the download links there are for 1d4chan.org and are offline. Most of the art is no where to be found but in 4chan archives with no full sized images.
>>97373285Lol, I remember writing some of the lore for this. I'm the anon that wrote the lore for The R.I.G (Rusty Iron Gizmo). It wasn't my best bit of write-faggotry but it was my first. I always like CATastrophe threads.>>97373730I've got some OG art squirreled away on my drive.>>97373674They need to just make 1d6chan the fucking wiki.
Two divers inspect pre-flood treasure.
a shame leftists and redditors invaded the board, ruining the fun, camaraderie and social cohesion of /tg/. can't really do creative stuff like this anymore with them here.
An explorer being stalked by a precursor security bot. I remember this was drawn in regards to the many under ground dungeons that could be accessed via various methods on the ocean floor, islands, and "atolls" on the surface.
>>97373777Without fail, every accusation a confession. Hard to make things when magats can't stop spamming the board about trans cock.

A catgirl with her trusty medic bag.I remember that outside of extreme circumstances, it was originally planned for it to be very hard to actually die in CATastrophe. The original feel was to be more Feel-good Saturday morning cartoon. Characters could definitely get injured but at worst that would lead to incapacitation .I remember one monster that was invented was the Disco Slug. It wasn't really harmful but was bioluminescent and had chromatophores across it's skin that caused it to light up and pulse like a lightshow at a rave or disco. Characters and NPCs that looked at it and failed the equivalent to a WILL save were hypnotized by the creature and began to dance around it. Eventually they would obviously pass out from exhaustion. This made them both good living security systems and also were great at parties. There was plans to have a kaiju sized version of the creature but I think we only got as far as writing some lore regarding it.
The consequences, both good and ill, of inspecting pre-flood artifacts. IIRC there was planned to have an artifact inspection table or chart somewhat similar to Gamma World for trying to figure out what the stuff you managed to find actually was and did.
>>97373777Rent free to be quite honest/tg/ was ruined by paranoia about content scraping and inability to trust anyone in general
I believe this was an early attempt at cover art. Maybe.
>>97373671Remember back when bro quest and engine hearts was just some random thing that popped up out of nowhere, and we'd all pitch in ideas and drawfags would do little doodles. God we're so fucking old.
Not sure if this is official CATastrophe art but there was a lot of art posted in those threads that served as inspiration for the setting.
>>97373833It's not paranoia if it was actually happening.
Ditto in regards to my last post. Though this may have more claim to being official CATastrophe artwork. I remember there was a lot of talk about how enemies such as rival treasure hunters and even pirates should be handled. Obviously one of the things that was brought up was to simply get your boat or airship stolen.
I remember one thing that was discussed early on was that the animal folk in CATastrophe were assumed to be kind of stupid. Mechanic wise I don't think we had any thing to represent this. It was left more to the spirit of the players to RP their characters as kind of airheads.
>>97373435No, but it was -- along with this picture -- one of the main inspirations for CATastrophe.
>>97373285I remember lurking the CATastrophe threads back in the day when i was new here. The project was finished, not abandoned, at least as far as i can remember.
>>97373777the board has never been more right wing and never been worse so the irony is pretty big i dare saybasically the same goes for all of 4chan
>>97373861And who cares? The board is dead because everyone's scared someone might profit from their effort so everyone's just shitposting instead
>we've lost the rules for CatastropheFuck.>>97373833When your entire board becomes fodder for youtube and twitter content, can you blame them?
>>97373945Who cares, It draws folks in and keeps the site healthy.Besides, it opens a new avenue for people to discover the board and the site aside from /pol/.People scrape /v/ and you don't see them complaining.
>>97373777Of course, you're not to blame for any of this, you've been here since 2016
