I knew that Shard would return.
What's going on in your chains, anons?>play Fall From Heaven 2 Ashes of Erebus to refresh my memory of the setting and decide what to do there in a side chain>multiple drawback enemies die offscreen fighting the AI civs somewhere and two more pretty much can't do anything because they're sea-only>build Mercurian Gate to summon the Angels and switch to them>capital gets flooded with free angels because some good aligned bots are fighting wars and their dead units are reborn as angels within our borders>before the game starts getting unavoidable crashes from too many units, complete the final Altar of the Luonnotar and win as our entire civilization ascends to heaven to hang out with The OneAnd that's the plan. Aside from the meme DLC this jump isn't nearly as difficult as I remember from early Jumpchain.
>>98683001Considering how much attention I canget from the incarna as the ringbearer.
>>98683001Main chain: My jumper bought a company that was NotUmbrella. It turned out they had some monsters that escaped a secret complex under a warehouse. My Jumper bend over backwards to try and help the cops clean up the mess. People were starting to burn her in effigy in the press but then the cops actually came out and told people to chill because my Jumper looked innocent.Side chain: Jumper is in NotRavenloft trying to find the reason the Japanese horror domain is slowly dissolving away in constant rain. She was just attacked in a hotel room by an Oni looking thing that turned it to black mist when it was killed. Is it just me or does Capcha here make posting a pain in the ass?
>>98683001i've been feeding my chains along with their jumpdocs to llms and for thematic analysis, occasionally they even notice something useful or fun
I wonder what's next, Immortal Handbook or Legend of the Five Rings?
>>98683001Jumper is due to get a visit from the local gods to figure out what his deal is.
>>98686912L5R, but goddamn is there a lot of required reading to do before I can even feel comfortable starting unless people are comfortable with not having the opportunity to be Anti-Skaven or Naga or Shadowlands beings.>>98683001The succbox escape plan is going well, despite what naysayers may say. I am immutable and inevitable, it is the succs who are out of touch.
>>98685890Consider yourself lucky if captcha is all that hinders your posting. I can hardly post without fake range blocks "preventing abuse" that demand email verification, and getting randomly imagebanned also adds to my enjoyment of this site.
>>98687215This. Someone on the mod team or possibly the CIA really hates my chinese mobile provider.
>>98687122Shadowland being sounds very interesting. What are they? Also, what's the power level/range of Legend of the Five Rings? DnD-like or more like Exalted?
>>98687262>Also, what's the power level/range of Legend of the Five Rings? DnD-like or more like Exalted? Both are too high. Somewhere between ASoIaF and AtLA.
>>98687262Oh, they're way less interesting than they sound. Like, imagine the most basic ideas of youkai. Oni, big ogre. Evil hags (not human, actual creepy old woman-shaped things). Kappa. Now imagine they're all tainted with some sorta generically corruptive spiritual miasma that corrupts land irrevocably, turns spirits into evil bloodthirsty monsters, turns people into soulless rampaging husks...but the symptoms can be staved off by a special monk-brewed tea, and there's a type of rat people in the setting utterly immune to the corruption because they run on different metaphysics to humans (it's vague but their essence is tied to a name rather than the Asian idea of Void. Which is more like all the elements in harmony to a divine state, like in Avatar, than some eldritch thing). It's the most underwhelming sort of corruption that is technically irrevocable by in-universe means I've ever seen.>power levelUncharitably I could call shugenja and everything they're capable of somewhere between thaumaturgy and the low end of Celestial Circle Sorcery, with more limited uses per day in exchange for being faster on the draw. There are various fighting techniques that verge on anime physics at high mastery and are just...being kind of touch at low mastery. There is also monk stuff. The Dim Mak require hitting someone in 3 points and isn't technically a sure kill. It's like, Jade Empire level maybe? Mortal Kombat based SOLELY on what you see on screen before MK10, less the realm-mergers or the Titans? There is some legitimate mysticism going on, but it's all comparatively restrained. Most spirit magic is just bothering nature spirits (kami) for favours anyway. (as opposed to kido, monk techniques, which are legitimately you channeling harmony with the universe in VERY limited ways). The inter-clan politics are more interesting, really.
>>98687292Yeah, this is accurate by the way. I think ASoIaF is a /little/ too low but it's been too long since I've read the books to be sure if they're as underwhelming as the show, so I could be forgetting some stuff. I think someone mentioned a stairway of fire once? That is sorta on the level, but shugenda generally train for combat-practical spells.
>>98687322That sounds really underwhelming after all these jumps with fallen angels able to smite humans by the hundreds.
>>98687426Doesn't it just? Even the gods are extremely disappointing; apparently falling to the mortal realm severely nerfed them all. Still a cool setting. Still something I'm willing to slog through a bunch more books to put together. Like I said on the bunker, it's uncharitable but having jumpmade for a lot of places with corruption the taint really ain't shit by comparison, people in L5R just really don't have great options for purifying it's like. But yeah, it's kind of a lull before the big one.
>>98687506After The Avengers Doomsday, will you update your MCU jump? Also, does you Mutant+Blade perk include powers from the Sony movies like Venom's symbiote?
>>98687648I don't think so, MCU part 3 was always intended to stop at Riri Gaiden. Everything else is notionally someone else's problem. Notionally. I neither expect nor recommend anyone make a new MCU jump, nobody deserves that suffering.>Mutant+BladeSure, why not? Everything. The filmmakers are just throwing fucking everything at the wall in desperation. Go ahead and morb out if you want.
>>98687648>>98687725>I don't think so...although I will say, since if leaks are to be believed they will be ADDRESSING Loki's world tree state and using it as the Beyonder powerup stand-in to justify Doom getting all-powerful.And since Loki doing that DID happen under my watch. No promises, but. I'll keep an eye on the situation. I don't THINK the MCU in its current state is ambitious enough to do anything to warrant a retroactive fucky-wucky, but. I'll be watching.
>>98687725Instead of sticking you hand back in the pile of crap that is modern MCU are there any properties that are loosely connected enough yet good enough to get your attention for a jump. Like Deadpool it's technically MCU now and I think that would be a cool jump. Other possible MCU based jumps might be.... or ... well deadpool was awesome.
I did get the impression legend of five rings could be fantasy peak human. I do know their some stuff about Killing gods in the lore.
>>98687322I though their was a Oni that somehow become uncorrupted when adventuring far from the shadow land? And their is a magic ritual to remove corruption (granted it just transfers the corruption to the caster)
>>98687725Wait you made the mcu jump than complaining about the woke for half the length. I personally found it a little bit cringe. While I am cringe, I would like a jump that not just purely Doylist hating of the setting.Through yeah mcu did fall down after endgame. Through I did like the Spiderman movies, Shang Chi and fantastic four. I generally found most of the movies fun to watch in a dumb block buster kind of way. Did not see the marvels through, and eternals was way too slow.
>>98687725You lead me to learning something new when I decided to look up how marvel movies are received.Phase 3 was the phase between infinity war and endgame. And was mostly well liked asides from marvel.https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/all-marvel-cinematic-universe-movies-ranked/Acutely checking rotten tomato. It curios to see what the movies were lowest rank. Hulk and Ironman 2 are at the bottom along with love and thunder, and eternals. The issues with the last two were not the woke but cringe comedy and awful pacing
>>98687322I do feel the jump can use a perk to give some kind of corruption protection even if it not cheap or limited in strength.Ideally both perks. A 100 to 200 cp to protect you from randomly getting corrupted while touching the wrong rock or fighting a Oni and getting scratched just once. And a 600 cp that pretty high level and would let you do stupid things It also might be nice to have a perk to get away socially with using strange magic. Because a lot of jumpers are going to find it annoying how casting a DnD spell would lead to a crab and Phoenix teaming up to put your head on a pike. However the perk does not fit canon enough to be cheap.
Insomnia is a cunt. I hate the Spider. Not ORT, ORT is awesome. The Spider Clan and everyone who rises to the top of it for continuously shitting on every single nomic assumption of Rokugan for no better reason than L5R was once a competitive community activity. That is all>>98687965No.The MCU's increasing desire to Jumpchainify itself is killing whatever interest I had in any possible interest I could ever have in anything tangential to itself. The audacity to teleport Eddie Brock to the MCU for literally no reason only to have him sent back again was really something.>>98688231Who?>magic ritualWell, the jump is for 4e and so far I've mostly just found rituals that mitigate or halt it rather than purify it.>>98688244>you made the complaining jumpNo one else would, so yes.>mcu did fallThe MCU doing everything in its power to destroy all that made itself fun fuelled my hate for it, at the time. Now, it is simply dead to me.>Did not see the marvelsI did. >>98688279>Ironman 2 Deserved. The middle of that really does lull even if it was before the really enshittified era.>The issuesIt was both for Love and Thunder. Eternals was just badly written though because the director had no fucking experience with capeshit, yeah.>>98688298>some kindThe Advantages section has kind of provided ample general perk material, I vaguely remember that somewhere. Canonically Amaterasu can just bless places to halt the creep of taint. Why she doesn't do this to everywhere isn't clear, but may be related to the fact that Jigoku has to exist as a cosmic balance to Tengoku (heaven). We'll see. But it'll likely have to be steep...for humans. Nezumi are flat out immune to taint because of their metaphysical name glitch. In 4e, at least.>sociallySpider Clan. Spider Clan. Fucking Spider Clan. Daigotsu got promoted to being Literally Satan and got his homies and baby mama to ascend as the Asian Dark Muses too.
>>98689055I cannot help but think all the clan perks trees are going to be awesome. The five rings clan are rich with flavor, and you are the kind of author who can somehow improve on that.Jrpg traitor questions. What the heck is the diffence between beastman and Demihuman. Also what is the power level. How much would a level 20 DnD wizard matter in setting. Or a shonen jumper who can destory a small island in a single blow and break the sound barrier on a dime.As for love and thunder. I do not remember that well, but I vaguely recall the only really woke thing was giving Jane the hammer. They proceed to kill her off at the end (did Thor really need more trauma at this point). But I do not think she was the worst part of the movie.
Is it wrong to say that since DDAnon hasn't been back in a while, I hope he never returns? Maybe he gave up on the hobby or got hit by a truck. If he got Isekaied I don't think I would mind. Hell I would buy Truck-kun lunch.
>>98690190No, that's a pretty common sentiment. Lots of people hate him, and it's not even worth arguing with him since he'll reply to every post with a long pissy refutation about how he's actually right about everything and super cool and totally dangerous, and then reply to his own post, and then reply to that post soon after. Usually while taking up images with AI duck pictures, not that we ever hit the limit anymore.Anyway, I hope he's dead. If previous disappearances are any indication he'll probably just disappear for eight years and then come back like we all missed him for a few weeks while we remember why we didn't.He'll probably be at least forty, then.
>>98690190>hasn't been back in a while,Nigga, it's been two days. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
Shard, if you did another Warhammer Fantasy jump, how likely is it that you would do a jump about Nagash/Undeads?Because you made 5 Warhammer jumps (mostly about elves), and with the new DLC in for TWW3...
>>98689674I got like 900 pages to read before I'm fully satisfied I've squeezed the clans dry for all their worth and goddamn, will it suck. But I'm confidant to get cracking once I finished Enemies of the Empire at least.>differenceBeastmen are born from the River of Silence, Demihumans are as far as I can tell literal animals that evolved so hard they became people.>power levelIf this was a videogame, both would be the third or fourth boss you fight. >I do not remember that wellIt was a godsend compared to the comics. But there is a bit where Jane gets all pissy about being called Lady Thor and insists she's Dr. Jane Foster. Still, her relationship with Thor is way better than over there.>>98691251>ifNo. No if. I don't want to make jumps after all of this. After needing to read 900 fucking pages of fictional asian politics. And even if I were, Tomb Kings exists. That's all you need to be Nagash. And all undead are Nagash's bitches.>5 Warhammer jumpsMore than enough to completely disillusion me on Warhammer Fantasy and GW's handling of it, thank you very much.
>>98690190DDanon frequently skips posting for days only to come back and act like an attention whore. Pretty sure he also recently went over to the bunker to attention whore over there. I wouldn't be surprised if he is already 40 considering he says he's been on 4chan since the beginning and that was 22 years ago. If he was 20 back then he would be 42 now.
>>98691592You could try to make a jump for something that isn't fueled by spite and autism. Then again, I don't know what that would look like, so maybe best not mess with a winning formula.
