And that's the plan. Aside from the meme DLC this jump isn't nearly as difficult as I remember from early Jumpchain.

Main chain: My jumper bought a company that was NotUmbrella. It turned out they had some monsters that escaped a secret complex under a warehouse. My Jumper bend over backwards to try and help the cops clean up the mess. People were starting to burn her in effigy in the press but then the cops actually came out and told people to chill because my Jumper looked innocent.

Side chain: Jumper is in NotRavenloft trying to find the reason the Japanese horror domain is slowly dissolving away in constant rain. She was just attacked in a hotel room by an Oni looking thing that turned it to black mist when it was killed.

Oh, they're way less interesting than they sound. Like, imagine the most basic ideas of youkai. Oni, big ogre. Evil hags (not human, actual creepy old woman-shaped things). Kappa.

Now imagine they're all tainted with some sorta generically corruptive spiritual miasma that corrupts land irrevocably, turns spirits into evil bloodthirsty monsters, turns people into soulless rampaging husks...but the symptoms can be staved off by a special monk-brewed tea, and there's a type of rat people in the setting utterly immune to the corruption because they run on different metaphysics to humans (it's vague but their essence is tied to a name rather than the Asian idea of Void. Which is more like all the elements in harmony to a divine state, like in Avatar, than some eldritch thing).

It's the most underwhelming sort of corruption that is technically irrevocable by in-universe means I've ever seen.

Uncharitably I could call shugenja and everything they're capable of somewhere between thaumaturgy and the low end of Celestial Circle Sorcery, with more limited uses per day in exchange for being faster on the draw. There are various fighting techniques that verge on anime physics at high mastery and are just...being kind of touch at low mastery. There is also monk stuff. The Dim Mak require hitting someone in 3 points and isn't technically a sure kill.

It's like, Jade Empire level maybe? Mortal Kombat based SOLELY on what you see on screen before MK10, less the realm-mergers or the Titans? There is some legitimate mysticism going on, but it's all comparatively restrained. Most spirit magic is just bothering nature spirits (kami) for favours anyway. (as opposed to kido, monk techniques, which are legitimately you channeling harmony with the universe in VERY limited ways). The inter-clan politics are more interesting, really.

Yeah, this is accurate by the way. I think ASoIaF is a /little/ too low but it's been too long since I've read the books to be sure if they're as underwhelming as the show, so I could be forgetting some stuff. I think someone mentioned a stairway of fire once? That is sorta on the level, but shugenda generally train for combat-practical spells.

Doesn't it just? Even the gods are extremely disappointing; apparently falling to the mortal realm severely nerfed them all. Still a cool setting. Still something I'm willing to slog through a bunch more books to put together. Like I said on the bunker, it's uncharitable but having jumpmade for a lot of places with corruption the taint really ain't shit by comparison, people in L5R just really don't have great options for purifying it's like. But yeah, it's kind of a lull before the big one.

Through yeah mcu did fall down after endgame. Through I did like the Spiderman movies, Shang Chi and fantastic four. I generally found most of the movies fun to watch in a dumb block buster kind of way. Did not see the marvels through, and eternals was way too slow.

Ideally both perks. A 100 to 200 cp to protect you from randomly getting corrupted while touching the wrong rock or fighting a Oni and getting scratched just once. And a 600 cp that pretty high level and would let you do stupid things

It also might be nice to have a perk to get away socially with using strange magic. Because a lot of jumpers are going to find it annoying how casting a DnD spell would lead to a crab and Phoenix teaming up to put your head on a pike.

However the perk does not fit canon enough to be cheap.

The Advantages section has kind of provided ample general perk material, I vaguely remember that somewhere. Canonically Amaterasu can just bless places to halt the creep of taint. Why she doesn't do this to everywhere isn't clear, but may be related to the fact that Jigoku has to exist as a cosmic balance to Tengoku (heaven). We'll see. But it'll likely have to be steep...for humans. Nezumi are flat out immune to taint because of their metaphysical name glitch. In 4e, at least.

As for love and thunder. I do not remember that well, but I vaguely recall the only really woke thing was giving Jane the hammer. They proceed to kill her off at the end (did Thor really need more trauma at this point). But I do not think she was the worst part of the movie.

Is it wrong to say that since DDAnon hasn't been back in a while, I hope he never returns? Maybe he gave up on the hobby or got hit by a truck. If he got Isekaied I don't think I would mind. Hell I would buy Truck-kun lunch.

No, that's a pretty common sentiment. Lots of people hate him, and it's not even worth arguing with him since he'll reply to every post with a long pissy refutation about how he's actually right about everything and super cool and totally dangerous, and then reply to his own post, and then reply to that post soon after.
