I've been having fun with alt wincons recently so I want to build a deck for Coalition Victory. I can't decide between either Ramos or Karn for my commander. Karn is probably slightly better because he's card draw rather than ramp on top of being all colors, but Ramos has obvious synergy with proliferate/counters so I could also run Simic Ascendancy in his deck.

Feeling like this deck is cursed. Every FNM I go and find myself in some godawful pod. Was going alright this time, greedily Mana Drain'd an 8-mana Sauron on a reanimator strategy so I got to untap and take a very explosive turn. Unfortunately my friend who I go to the store with was in the game, and while he's easily one of the best players at the LGS, we've been playing together for a decade+. He has this tendency to warp games we're in, over-estimating my decks and not others. After a counter-war with the Sauron player I had two Thief's Knives and a Hexplate Wallbreaker, along with a Stolen Identity under one of the equipped Thief Knives hero tokens; all flying/haste with my commander out. Professional Facebreaker probably would've had me at draw 4 and get 4 treasures. Naturally I get blown the fuck out by my friend on Swords to Plowshares, hitting my Thief's Knife hero token with Stolen Identity under it. This also puts his hand count down by 1 meaning my wallbreaker can no longer attack under his Ensnaring Bridge.But this leaves ALL of us tapped out. So when I pass, the Tiamat player resolves March of the Ents with a Fist of Suns effect in play and he hits Morophon names dragon and just instawins. I was a bit snide with my friend and said he should've held the removal, which was a mistake because he's a rager. Went ballistic and made the entire table uncomfortable.Luckily the night was salvaged when one of the guys busted out his fucking vintage cube. It's been so long since I played 60-card, it was like a healing salve for my soul.
