Got the reissue of the playmates voltron. It’s big. Super Colossal Indoraptor for comparison.

$110. Target only had one set of the legs and arms, but four black lions for some reason. I am expecting a lot of incomplete sets.

Felt pretty good compared to the hasbro ones that just came out. Lots of ratchets and clicky joints. More like the korean combiners.

It's cool, but for $110, I'd rather spend the extra 60-80 and get the KO of the Blitzway while it's still available.
I lucked out and got it for like $180.
>>
>>10941806
That is a great adult collectible. The playmates one is a better kids toy.
>>
>>10941869
It's actually pretty playable, honestly. sturdy, no real over-complexity like a lot of modern transforming figures, pegs in solid. Try it out if you can, I only handled Playmate's Legendary Defender but it was less sturdy than the KO I'm taking about.
>>
>>10941696
I like almost everything about the Playmates. My only issue is how the shoulders work. Here's my Voltron of choice next to a Dinosaur
>>
>>10941882
I just meant it has more toy gimmicks. It talks, it has shooting missile attachments for each lion.

I wasn’t suggesting this is a good collectors figure, it was more me being happy that playmates released a giant cheap combiner in 2024 when no one is doing that right now.
>>

Musclebear Voltron is one of the best deals on a toy I've ever gotten. I can't believe it was $180, even though it's a KO. The sheer amount of diecast metal on that thing is amazing.

Also, I just assembled this guy today. It's the KO of Pose+ GaoGaiGar King of the Braves. It was $125 shipped from ShowZStore. The official version is around $600 depending on where you buy it. For $125, it's a steal. For $600, it's a ripoff. I'd be beyond pissed if I had spent full price for the official version.

Anyway, here he is next to a few of my other recent purchases.
>>
>>10942144
How does the KO feel? I seem to recall they changed some of the joints? Or at least the materials?
>>
>>10942378
I haven't handled the official version but this thing feels legit. It's loaded with diecast. The paint is very good. Nothing about it feels cheap except for the plain cardboard box but it is packed in styrofoam. I didn't have any breakage issues when transforming it and nothing felt scary like it might break. I don't have a single complaint for the price.

I want that dinosaur. Who makes it?

The paint apps are slightly less good on the KO also they removed most (all?) the ratchets.
>>
>>10941696
Wait, playmates reissued the Voltron from a few years ago?

Its big and dumb, and fell apart if you looked at it for too long. But at the time it was funl to see mcfarlane dropping weird concepts on the pegs
>>
Ah my old weakness thread.
Any good toys come out as of recent? I don't need any but I'd love to pick up some combiners that are solid.
>>
>>10943833
Do you own anything from 52Toys? Some of their BeastBOX and MegaBOX figures can combine.
>>
>>10942378
its quite good for a KO, materials and paint are a bit worse, no ratchets, but its very good all things considered, at $125 you won't find a better robot toy
>>
>>10944125
I only own the original D10 funny enough. I did hear something of them doing some combiners but kept forgetting to look into their lineup.
>>
>>10944176
They have an official Amazon page and a lot of their stuff from the last year or two is still in stock. They have a set of 4 dogs that combine into a t-rex.

For recent kids' toys...

Justice Titan from Miniforce Super Cops is apparently amazing. It's the closest to a modern Brave robot so far. However, it's currently expensive and everyone's waiting for a cheaper Chinese version.

Highlight of the new Shinkalion series is a proper 3 bullet train combiner that's rather decent aside from lanky proportions.

Previous Super Sentai's Kingohger is a good bug-themed combiner in its base form, not so much in the upgrade and ultimate forms. It's a shame that this year's Sentai returned to a gimmick brick.

Since this is the closest to a Chogokin thread we've got, it seems like the merch company Graniph is doing a sort of lottery thing where one of the prizes is this transforming Chogokin logo. I hope this'll get a full retail release, because I kinda really want one.
>>
>>10945215
Are there AmiAmi/HLJ/NNG/Anime-Export/etc. equivalent for korean products? Looks like they have some cool things for sale now.
>>
>>10947313
Gmarket but the shipping sucks balls. Another reason why people wait for the Chinese versions.

I own the toy and it is worth every penny. The attention to detail on each of the vehicles, the very clever transformation plus lights and sounds make it a great combiner! A lot of Miniforce combiners are fun and clever, (Pic related) but Titan has the most articulation out of all of them.
>>
>>10945215
Damn, Justice Titan actually looking kinda sick. Not a big guy on car/vehicle combiners, but that's cool.
>KingOhger
Nearly bought one in Japan last fall but opted for a few kits instead, considering the real estate that thing took up. May go back for it, because yeah, this year's sentai is shit.
Maybe I should finally build my GaoIcarus kit
>>

Is the V-Rangers one in the middle a brick?
>>
>>10947440
I see, thanks. By chinese version you mean KO or something official?

Officially licensed. All the big Korean robot toylines either have official Chinese Mainland runs or are co-produced with them. Miniforce in particular got so popular that it has a made-for-China toku spinoff being produced with its own toyline. Some are wondering if this spinoff will delay the Chinese run of Super Cops toys.
>>

Thank you for all the informations
>>
>>10943833
If you like model kits, the Lost Galaxy Megazord is going to drop soon.
>>
>>10947629
The 3 individual robots have decent articulation, but it becomes quite limited when they combine. You can still pull off some poses, so it's not a complete brick.
It's brick lite.
>>
>>10947449
What’s the name of the one on the right?
>>
>>10948161
Oh right! I mentioned >>10947494 I got the GaoIcarus/Isis Megazord kit last year I need to build, and I've had the Delta sitting around while I try to find the Astro as well.
Lost Galaxy's zord would be an easy buy, that thing was a beauty.

Not the person you're replying to but that's Miniforce Triga

How do you have new toys when you are clearly living in a mid 90's era?
>>
>>10948161

i love lost galaxy
>>
I've acquired a bit more since then, but since some were fragile, this is my only picture of my base collection as a group, and you if you know Sentai, you simply don't just get 1 thing, if they can combine, you get everything.
>>
>>10949010
What? Just because I have a CRT, a stack of SNES games, and lots of VHS tapes, that means I have to be a time traveller?
I've been found out.
>>
>>10954041
More power to you, but I hate how the back all looks like classy, dignified designs, and all you get to the newer ones they get chunkier and gaudier.

Skip the smaller "Classic" version, that one can't combine.
