Nice one!
>>
Let us not hit the image limit with reposts from the previous thread. What are y'all building today?
>>
Can't wait for that one anon to post his egyptian temple moc
>>
>>10947560
Can’t you just post your MOCs in the LEGO general? There’s 3 LEGO generals and now 3 MOC generals on the board. It just gets a little ridiculous.
>>
>>10947574
This is the new general. All others have either reached image limit or have been made by shitposters and were DOA. This is the one and only.
>>

Please keep off-topic discussions about inter-thread-politics to a minimum (that minimum being zero).
>>
>>10947574
I started the original Lego MOC general at image limit and people started making their own threads and now I made this again at image limit.
>>
>>10947574
No we can’t, we don’t want to
Welcome to the /lg/ thread,
There are 3 /lg/s because the faggot spammer keeps making them.
As for the 3 moc threads, each one has hit image limit and will continue to do so while you bitches here in /lg/ continues to be fags
>>
>>10947587
Maybe you shouldn’t put LEGO GENERAL in the title then, it should say MOC GENERAL

>I couldn’t agree more. If I’m not mistaken you’re also the Nikos the drunken sailor guy?

Yeah that's me. But his name is Nathaniel Napsalot. He's the steadfast but sleepy sailor that always triggers his Captain's eye twitch. Be careful Captain Ironhook The Third, that's how you'll end up with an eyepatch like Gramps.

>I got the extra cannons by being nice and explaining to customer service that the kid was disappointed, which was true, so they sent them right away. Was very impressed.

Wow that's hella impressive man. That is really good customer service. I got a set a month or so back with several pieces in the wrong color, a dark tan instead of burgundy red. Perhaps I should email them and see if they would send me those few pieces in the correct color.
>>

It wasn't originally meant as MOCs only, but now I put the name on the wrong place.

Wow dude that looks slick as hell. Can we see more or from another angle

That skull wall reminds me of Volcano Island, my second favorite Lego set as a kid.

Your Island looks lush and I really miss those old tree trunks. Is that an inn or a pirate fort there?

This here is my continuing and finishing up the Admiral's Office for Eldorado Fortress. I would do it differently if I had the parts, but I'm happy with it overall. The top is super crowded though and I think I will replace one of the big cannons with a brick built swivel cannon when I can.
>>
>>10947595
Yeah I like you and your setup man! Just be nice and explain like a human and you should be fine. I just explained how the kid was bummed there weren’t more (again true) and they were really nice about it. I want to merge my castle and pirate landscapes but it’s been a challenge because I also don’t have unlimited funds and go slow.

Only suggestion I would have is maybe some sort of crane or grabber for picking up rocks to put in the bed. But that could easily be the job of another vehicle

I have the GWP set, but even after using all my gray pieces to mode it, I didn't have enough and was unhappy with it. I tried filling out the back abd moving the fireplace to one side when it split in half, but I didn't have enough gray.

I moved the fireplace all to one side when it is split. I also loaded his treasure chest up with actual treasure. On the other side first floor I decked out his desk with a book stand, a potion bottle and lamp. I also gave him a barrel to store Mystically enchanted items.

I put a ladder to go upstairs abd added a bed to one side. The opposite side is an alchemy table with more potions and junk. I also gave Majisto a better torso and cooler stand. I used the translucent star wands as decorations on the front

Couldnt sleep cuz I kept going over the build in my head, so I stayed up way later than I should have to basically redo the entire thing for a 4th time now (feels like it's been way more than that though)

Skeleton is cleaned up so the sides just slot in with rails instead of needing to be secured with studs, also widened it to 4 studs (but in reality it's closer to 6 wide due to the SNOT thickness)

Also added a base to get an idea of placement

Am I the only one who buys lego sets purely as a starting point for mocing? I am never satisfied with how official lego designs look. Neither 18+ sets nor city play sets. I mostly buy lego sets for parts and then make my own (and in my opinion) better version of that set. I don't think I have a single un-modified set in my vast lego collection. Proof of point and thanks to the anon for the dollar tree tip. No grey but got 9 baseplates for $13. Do better Lego.
>>
>>10949578
Buying lego is like buying a t-shirt for $50. You mainly buy it for the set design, as this is their intellectual property. But what you are paying for is mostly the brand name. Lego is expensive and of shitty quality, because they can. Because they are a titan of the industry. Other companies vastly surpass TLG bricks in terms of quality. Non of the off-brand bricks can allow them self to sink as low as using stickers. Prints all the way! Lego could do that, too. Lego could have torsos that don't crack. Lego could have color consistency. But they do not. As it is against their natural self-interest as a company. Their goal is to make money. And they are doing so because suckers like you buy their garbage, despite incredible quality issues. if you are not interested in a specific design and just want bricks to moc your own stuff - then why should you pay these premium prices? That would be against your own natural self-interest, after all.

NP man. Dollar Tree is great for knockoff Lego. Grab a few of these of you can too, super cheap and work perfectly, great for supplementing your collection. I just wish I could find them in white, its always all gray and briwn when I go in. But yeah, I'll never buy an official baseplate again after finding the cheapo Dollar Tree ones. Glad other anons are getting in on it.

While I hated it at first due to the general over saturation of Minecraft, I actually find the lego sets quite comfy and ironically have a lot of soul, compared to basically everything else modern Lego is doing. Its basically the only theme doing sets that are basically just landscape scenes and houses, which is something I really miss from the classic era of lego City / Town.

I just completed this, I don't know if you call it a moc or not. But it's mostly two official sets, mashed together, with a bunch of spare parts used to blend them together. I really like how simplistic and detailed it is, and I love how it came out with the two layer look. I also managed to retain all the play features as well.

Oh no that’s what I went looking for all they had was brown and I’m so traumatized by actual Lego brown I opted for the baseplates. I’m going back I appreciate the tip. I was also looking for the molded rock pieces. You just saved me like $200 in cliff building once they restock. Much appropriated fella!

They are a great deal, but be careful as colors don't always match. I made a minute long video showing what I'm talking about. Still good for the price, but a little disappointing considering it's all from one single knockoff brand

I watched the other one too I like your style countrybro. The color difference only makes my ass twitch a lot but I’m hoping if I’m careful I can come integrate them and some dark grey and make it look natural and not like it’s a cheap alternative. I have yet to find any decent bootlego plant or landscaping pieces but so I may end up actually ordering from Lego there.
>>
>>10949840
Also I’m going to sleep i reread that and couldn’t even understand myself. Moc hard bros.
>>
>>10949724
Not to mention the only theme that still uses basic bricks in large quantities.
Even Creator, despite it's great parts selection for it's sets, leans more into using plates, slopes and tiny pieces more.
>>
>>10949688
Lego's plastic quality is bad, but I have yet to see a brand that actually reaches the quality old Lego used to have.
>>
>>10949850
This. Its honestly refreshing to have sets that are just normal bricks, not trying to show off with some fancy new SNOT trick or new weird part shapes that are way too hyper specific.
>>
>>10949706
Well I think I covered that with "sexy", but yeah. The problem is that it's a set designed to build a ship, so if you're making a MOC using a reasonable portion of the parts, it'll either be another island base or a ship, and you're not gonna build a better ship than the Barracuda.

Starting with a 2 level dock. It'll be on a couple of base plates based on the one from Dolphin Point. Unfortunately what you see here uses up most of my brown plates but I know how to BrickLink if I decide to spend money on this.

I should have plenty of gray bricks for some sort of rock structure which should help get this dock far away enough from land that it makes sense to tie up a big ship like the Barracuda next to it. We'll have to see about some sort of building or structure.

Also, y'all were right, the Barracuda is magnificent. Thanks for the ideas and such.

So the market-festival-wall build of the 3 in 1 castle was pretty underwhelming compared to the tower, but as a challenge I wanted to keep it intact outside of replacing some pieces that fulfill the same function. I built this boat out of the leftovers and very few outside parts from my collection, those being the shield, katana and the red flags, as well as an extra barrel but that's the same one already in the set. I'm pretty satisfied with this even though it has some unstable areas, as is par for the course- specifically the front end of the roof, the entire front half attachment, and various decoration elements. It also puts stress on the floor plate due to the sheer weight of the hindquarters.
The angled back window took the most work to finally stay in place and not randomly fall apart. Altogether I'm happy with it for what it is and will rebuild it in studio so I have it archived when I take it apart again. The inside shot is with the roof fully attached, the windows make a really nice lighting effect.

Dollar Tree anon back to spread the news. Stopped at a DT I had never geen to before and found loads of new stuff. They had like 20 gray City Road baseplate, I almost felt bad not buying any. I just set up and imagine roads. Baseplate are for building on, and I can imagine the roads between any buildings myself. Maybe if I had more money to burn, but not today.

They had lots of mini sets, including construction and fore/police vehicles and too tiny for minifigures mikitary vehicles. I would rather spend money on those than random baseplates i cant even really build on properly.

But in the end, I went with these 3 Zombi sets because it's kinda wild even if not exciting builds. Still, I look forward to digging into them later today after I mow the front and back yards and do weeding. I'll comment on quality of them when I dig into them later. But I was excited to find em and share with you all. At only $1.25 a piece, it was $4 flat after tax. Not bad. Let's hope quality is okay

I'm sure you heard of BURPS and LURPS. I heard people refer to those smaller ones as TURPS as in Tiny Ugly Rock Pieces, but Bricklink doesn't comply (yet).

Is it gay that I really like the Friends sets I've seen? I just saw this set at Target abd it's super cool. But I have a City Park MOC this would go great in if I moved a few things.

No. I always tell people to never discount the Friends sets. There's some great colors and unique pieces in them and sometimes just genuinely well put together sets.

In the collecting market 29 years old is not vintage, zoomer. Only pokemon card collectors argue otherwise. Legos is what most people call them. I fucking hate people that call it lego, it's so pretentious.

I'm millenial and people in the guitar pedal or game collecting market call anything over 20-25 years old vintage. I do collect 60-80s vintage instruments and effects too. Is 94 vintage enough for you?

I like using container pieces to make small part palettes to dick around with. Vidiyo boxes are my favorite and I'm sad they died because of a weirdly treated theme. I'm currently collecting the different X-pods because they have a complete different style. After that I was thinking of getting some of those Friends clamshell cases, but they're not convenient to bricklink and the colors/prints are kind of limiting. What other containers would be good for carrying pieces around?
