Nah it was just a ball joint, they would get loose over time with a lot of playing. OG bionicle are still peak kino though.

The Toa Nuva came with a rudimentary method to lock one of the arms in a raised position.

G2, for all its many faults, managed to have fully articulated Toa with working gear functions that still hold their poses.
