The Berserk figmas actually hold up really well even today, though. Gon and Killua, much as I like them, were a bit limited right out of the gate. Aren't they just trying to make things more 1/12 accurate by taking the official height and dividing by 12? It only looks off next to other figures because the proportions don't always match the official characters heights across IPs. So you may have someone built like a midget, but the creators says he's 5ft, then you may have a lean teenager with a small head who is the same height. Both would be 127mm, but they wouldn't look in scale with each other.

Nah. For example, the recent 2b is stated to be 160mm whereas the Figuarts was 150mm and the buzzMOD 145mm
2b is 168cm at full size.
That makes the buzzMOD too tall by 5mm, the Figuarts by 10mm and the Figma by 20mm. They're absolutely scaling things up. Probably to fit with their model kit line.
It looks good, though, don't get me wrong. But the line as a whole does appear to be moving towards different sizes.

Tell me about it, Kamen Rider Saber was the start of scaling up things, average height was roughly 145mm and now the new average is 150mm. Granted that doesn't appear to apply to every other Figuarts, especially now with Shounen Jump characters being wildly varied but the height increase is noticeable. Which is annoying because the premium Shinkocchou Seihou line is still sticking with the old average 'scale' making them look like manlets compared to the stock Figuarts we get nowadays. I like the size up but I sure wish it was consistent and fully enforced.

There is more of a push for effects parts in the SHF line in general as of late, but overall, it seems like some lines have it better than others. The HxH line is being headed by the same guy working on the MHA line, and that guy obviously sees how important effects parts are, given that the three releases all have multiples of them. Kaiju No.9 also came with them, and the recent Ichigo had 2 as well (you can kind of fake a third if you want), so hopefully the "effects parts are important" mentality is spreading through the company.

I wonder what they'll do for Leorio. They said they put a lot of importance on embracing effects because Nen is important to the setting, but iirc (as someone who isn't that big into HxH admittedly) Leorio didn't have a Nen ability until way later.
So will they just make Leorio an arc-agnostic figure and give him something to represent that ability, or will they pack something else with him? (Say, Gon's backpack and fishing rod)
