I really miss the Fortnite toylines. All these wacky, versatile designs and not tied down by specific lore so it was a lot easier to add them to whatever licensed thing you were already collecting

I hate Hasblow specifically for killing this line when it was better than all the shit they’ve been putting out the last few years
>>
>>11251224
I like picking them up at ROSS when they pop up. I have so many peelies. Like, a bunch of them.
>>
>>11251260
Hasbro was in a damned if you do damned if you don't position with the line. Jazzware did all of the iconic designs, meaning that Hasbro either had to redo those designs and alienate customers who didn't want to deal with having to rebuy characters they already bought or doing all new designs.

It didn't help that Hasbro went full woke and pretty much made 90% blacks and women for their line.

blacks and women werent the problem, it was their bad choice of designs and the fact that they charged gliders the same as figures, alongside those shitty over-priced promo figures like The Weeknd, Scientist and crossover Snake Eyes
>>
I find it funny that the toylines seemed to die around the time that the designs started taking a direction I would actually be interested in owning toys of.
>>
>>11251260
Line would've died regardless cause it didn't sell. Kids would rather spend $20 on the skin in-game than a toy.
>>
>>11251224
It really is too bad. There's so many iconic designs that they never got to. The fact that we still don't have a good looking normal Midas figure is insane to me.

Characters like Hope, Helsie and Ageless would have been great to see.
>>
>>11251336
I wanted a figure of her forever. I still do but it'll never happen. Gimme thick tough cuties.

It still boggles my mind that THREE different companies had the license for this franchise and all of em made top notch, really fun figures for it. Each line had their own downsides, but they had way more good about them and it would've been nice to see any of em continue with the brand. I don't give a rats ass about Fortnite as a game, but they certainly do have some toyetic as hell character designs.

>complains about the best figures in the line

The Hasbro Fortnite girls were all fantastic figures and the best girls from any of the companies making them. Joule's boobtech should be industry standard as far as I'm concerned. The only issue with Hasbro's figures were their accessories, in both quality and quantity. You had to go deluxe sets to get anything worth while, but even then they'd only match the Jazwares loadouts at best.

>>11251336
It's a damn shame she never got a figure. But iirc, she's not a multiplayer skin, but a character from the solo game no one cares about right? If so, I can see why she never had a chance.

>It still boggles my mind that THREE different companies had the license for this franchise
I think part of the blame lies on Epic. They were way too lenient with the licenses and the toy aisles were absolutely flooded with all kinds of Fortnite merch. The three very popular lines of figures plus all the Funko, chibi, statue shit and plush too. There was just way too much out all at the same time fighting for attention and as a result, all the lines underperformed eventually and died.

>>11251318
>It didn't help that Hasbro went full woke
No, it didn't help that Hasbro charged $5 more, included no extra heads/faces, absolute minimum with accessories, and sold them in those god damn windowless boxes.
>>
>>11251996
>but a character from the solo game no one cares about right?
That's what the debut was, and I wanted that mode. but I still have to pay $20. the BR mode was sadly the one that blew up for some reason
>>
>>11251224
There's so many furries now they could've made.
>>
>>11251336
The Weeknd was jazwares

>ok guys let's make modern fortnite toys!
>ok we got iron man... oh we can just reuse that from our other toylines... actually they got all of marvel so that will work... uh...
>star wars! oh we have that toyline already, okay,
>Lego- oh wait
it's all product placement at heart. Who even plays fortnite with fortnite characters anymore
>>
>>11252137
Didn't the Marvel stuff start long after Hasbro's last wave? And what happened to Gamerverse? I also have zero hope for Rivals lines
>>
>>11252155
>Gamerverse
Gamestop stepped back from carrying as many action figures and stopped carrying exclusives which essentially killed the Gamerverse legends.

Fortnite figures of other licensed brands was never going to happen. Remember the Fortnite branded Snake Eyes that was just a Classified repaint with a couple new weapons? $40+. They don't want double royalties to cut into their profit margins.
>>
>>11252173
DIdn't even know they were Gamestop exclusive. I'm also surprised their own half of their own brand contributed to a "double royalty". Maybe if it was $30, it'd be acceptable. They could've just made a gamerverse redeco without mentioning the source non-hasbro game, maybe

Everything was going great until Hasbro took over the license. McFarlane and Jazwares were making great stuff.
>>
>>11253022
This. The 6" Jazwares line was doing great and flying off the shelves for years. It was when Hasbro came in and raised the price to $25, offering much less in return that the line fizzled out.

Jazzwares stuff was so good. Hell, even the McFarlane stuff was pretty fantastic. Hasbro somehow ruined a guaranteed moneymaker almost instantly.

I like Hope just fine. Her sister is one of my main skins though.
>>
>>11251797
its a real shame nothing was done about that, I feel like there was room to sell the figure and the skin together

Some of the demon hunters from this season are genuinely pretty cool too.

Fortnite was always a better supplement toyline. All these 3P companies just making generic somethings like Roman gladiators or military soldiers
