>theyre bringing back POTF2 proportions on darth vader Welcome back 1995!
>>11642152
>>11642152Refusing to cut out the sprue is the laziest shit ive ever seen. They turned an action figure into a model kit
>>11642156Theyve had sprues for action figure accessories since the 80s. It makes them have more accessories then they would without the sprue but i kinda agree it is lazy but i still think its cool. I like the buildable mouse droid vader includes with him.
>>11642156>>11642160It has a star wars and imperial logo on it. It is very obviously meant to be a gimmick, not laziness....
>>11642168Yeah i think its cool also i said the mouse droid is cool in the other post. I genuinely want this
>>11642168I'll forgive it,only since the main figure looks fun and is complete.Unfortanately it will likely be 10$. I'll probably pick up the whole line when it goes on clearance for 6$
>>11642180The whole action verse line is what im excite for the most currently. Not much of a 6 inch collector as much as others on this board are (even if i still get a few now and then), the 4 inch kids line are more fun for me
>>11642200Yea but the price gas to be right
Hell yeah. Can't wait for a new monkeyface Leia.
>>11642212These are $10 ea. The Spiderman ones already have Amazon pages.
>>11642156Guess you have never bought any TMNT figures before huh?
>>11642361jewnigger leia lawl
>>11642152>>11642153These look like really fun little toys for $10, and I love the little weapon tree he comes with, especially the mouse droid, that's such a cool little accessory. But I can't help but be disappointed at the rebrand. I don't mind the POTF2 style buff proportions, that's cool, but the line was really going in the right direction with the last few waves. Pic related was a nicely sculpted Vader with a cool new style of Lightsaber and improved articulation for $8. These were cool little toys to play around with, fudge into hanging around your other Star Wars toys, and army build on the cheap. Like a budget line in place of VC and something reminiscent of toys from the 2000's or so. I'm still gonna get these because I love fun and cheap toys, but it kinda sucks they're rebranding something that was already just starting to get good.
That's way worse. Another ugly kid toy.
>>11642508Those figures failed to sell well for all the brands. That's why all the brands are getting this new rebrand with the new look. I think these may appeal to younger kids than those other ones from the last 2 years
>>11642508Im mad they never got to cad bane with the epic world of action series or the epic hero series. I am excited for these new action verse figures tho because of the bulky 90s-esque sculpting and proportions>>11642522>I think these may appeal to younger kids than those other ones from the last 2 yearsDo you? I imagine they might since theyre now more cartoony and eye catching and include more accessories thanks to the sprue
>>11642532>theyre now more cartoony Not necessarily more cartoony, but the limbs are closer in size to those Playskool Jedi Force or Rescue Heroes figures rather than normal 3.75" figs. Or like those Hero Mashers that were popular for many years
>>11642539To me thats cartoony because of cartoonish proportions but thats just my perception
>>11642549oh yeah I can see that. I figured you meant more cartoony sculpting but proportions of the body yeah I understand.
>>11642508Man I 'm glas I'm not the only one here that liked this line. I had fun picking up that Vader, Yoda, and Anakin. Also grabbed the Rex and Stormtrooper with the mechs because why the fuck not? They're fun and my kids love them. And that Phase I Rex isn't something I've got in TVC l, so it's a solid stand in with a cool blast effect on his pistol that adds some fun dynamics to make up for the lack of TVC articulation. Also why I love those new sabers since they're like the effects you could apply to the blade in TFU. Oh and the Epic Darktrooper is a much better toy and representation of what we got olin the show. Unlike the short, gummy, weak ankled POS I paid $25 for in TVC. I'm real sad it's not going to continue because of this new line. Was really hoping we'd get more vehicles and shit that would be fun toys and could easily work with TVC too.
>>11642152If I wanted that I'd just go to any vintage toy store in the US and buy the original for the same price, or cheaper.
>>11642152>>11642153I think this looks nice, I like the design
>>11643842Im excited to see what other characters are in the first wave along with darth.
>>11643932This is what's known so far
>>11642152I have a feeling that they're holding back their best shit for 2027's 50th anniversary celebration.
>>11643984Is that why TVC hasnt done the imperial dignitary yet?
>>11642575>picrellol yeah they really overproduced potf2. There’s a hobby/game shop that just opened in my town: they have a wall just like that with every line from potf2 to present. Owner told me it’s stupid easy to find factory-sealed boxes of old Star Wars toys.
>>11642152I like it but why make a different style from epic hero series? What if this line gets canned too? Atleast old 5poa line had lots of releases
>>11644113From what i understand they make weird and arbitrary differences for toylines to make them more marketable for retailers so they pick the lines up more
>>11644113It's weird too because Epic was tied to Marvel too for several waves. It seemed like it was doing alright. It's stupid that they ended it for this new thing instead of just building out that world even more, especially when they called it Epic WORLD of Action
>>11644327This
>>11642575yeah, but the point is that approach works, $20 3 3/4" figures are only going to work for a minority of collectors, yokels like me want to get something cheap that isn't insultingly bad, the problem is both of them end up at Ollie's
>>11644713I know this is a hot take but i genuinely think TVC 3.75 figures are over articulated these days. The epic world of action/actionverse figures are a happy middle ground between 5POA and TVC levels of articulation>olliesThey only end up their because no one wants toys from slop like andor or the acolyte or the sequel trilogy
>>11644738They're not necessarily over articulated but they are definitely poorly designed. Most of the newer ones I've bought, which admittedly aren't many, can barely fucking stand. You can't just 3D sculpt something and put it through one round of okay prototypes and hope for the best, which is definitely what the retards do. Literally 90% of the toys or more from 2009-2012 were better engineered than what's coming out today, they just had less detailed/accurate sculpts. Pretty much every Acid Rain and Planet Green Valley figure shows off how modern SA 1/18 figures should be made.
>>11643998I am hoping and expecting a shitload of vintage reissues. It would be a wasted opportunity if they went for new shit people aren't asking for. Unfortunately Hasbro has that tendency to do exactly that. One good idea is a reissue of the 2001 figure-sized TIE Bomber, but in classic white in a vintage-style box. Make it solid white without any paint jobs to add needless details. Include vintage-style paper stickers. Make it an authentic vintage experience. I'm still amazed that they haven't done that yet.And I am hoping for more vintage reissue figures like the Hoth Snowtrooper and Luke Hoth which they haven't done yet. A team of X-wing pilots using the same body but with different helments would be cool too.
>>11644836>Literally 90% of the toys or more from 2009-2012 were better engineered than what's coming out todayAgreed, hell i even think sculpts were better sometimes back then compared to now>>11644848Im excited for the new retro collection 4 pack that will include graindan and CZ-3
>>11644865Personally I want reissues of stuff that's been priced out of the market for their original versions. We've gotten a few figures like that, and I wish they'd do the same with vehicles and playsets.
>>11644113>I like it but why make a different style from epic hero series? What if this line gets canned too? Becasue the Epic figs weren't selling well. All those Marvel ones are still siting around at every retailer. Those Avengers ones in yellow packages are rotting on shelves everywhere. If this new line fails, they'll have another gimmick in a year or two. They're just trying to find the next branding/design thing that'll be successful for a couple years. The last time they had a company wide success in the boys aisle may have been way back when they had those Mashers come out the first time. The Marvel, Star Wars, TF, and even Jurassic ones were selling well for several years
>>11642361>>Return to Monke
>>11644882Im more interested in figures but i do hope some vehicles get remade, specifically the minirigs
>>11644902>Honestly if this like fails they can always try again, and if that fails they can always try again, and if that fails they can always try again, and if that fails they can always try again, and if that fails they can always try again, and if that fails they can always try againHow many times does a brand need to fail to get completely removed
>>11644902I hated those mashers things. Is interchangeable crap really that popular?
>>11645341Better than the boring old people likeness 3D printed face tech the black series is known for.
>>11645343Blacked series isnt my forte either even if i own several of them. I prefer 3.75 or 4-5 inch to 1:12 scale stuff. Its insane just how much 1:12 has taken over the hobby now tho
>>11645345It's taken over because of social media types hyping it up as the definite collector scale
>>11645352I wouldnt be surprised. Also i admit alot of people genuinely prefer it as a scale but i just feel left out. Most figure's i buy now are from legit kids lines. Also some of the series i get toys for only have kids toys available like digital circus
>>11643956We are getting playsets?
>>11642361Chyna as Leia
>>11642377Playmates is ahead of the curve on laziness. They're pioneers in that field.
>>11645366Supposedly. No clue what it would be though. I'm hoping it's something generic Imperial themed that would work with TVC scaled stuff as well
>>11642152This looks fun
>>11645604Wasnt her clit like fucking huge in that she hulk porno where she was (badly) painted green?
>>11645665I'm happy to say that I have not seen that, but steroids definitely do create creepy clit dicks.
>>11644848I really think we should just be 3D printing our own ships nowadays, they were always too expensive for what they were and the shapes are perfect to come out of a printer without any problems.
>>11646533Yes, because you can definitely model, 3d print, clean up/sand, and paint a ship that'll look at least as good as the official ones and do it for less time money and /or time
>>11642575>>11644103That's also due to having lots and lots of collectors hording them up back then too. Loads of guys bought up whole waves of those things assuming they would eventually become millionaires off their collections.
>>11646685One of the saddest sights is this large estate sale store in my town, it's basically a store filled with loads of old antique merch and furniture from everyone's dead elderly relatives. And every so often there will be a huge haul of perfect in box figures coming in. I realize each time it's some collector died and the family sold off their stuff to these guys. Lots of late 90s Star Trek, Power of the Force, Episode 1, and Hotwheels.
>>11646695>I realize each time it's some collector died and the family sold off their stuff to these guys.I actually have it in my will that anything my friends and family don't want from my collection is to be sold to my favourite collector shop (which will also probably lead to them re-buying a lot of stuff they sold me). Because I can't stand the thought of my collection ending up in a landfill or just some thrift store where it will be bought by kids who will destroy the things I hold dear. At least if it goes to a store that sells to collectors it will most likely be bought up by people who appreciate my figures as much as I do.
>>11642200>ToesModern marvel is such shit
>>11642152When are we getting more reveals?
>>11645345>Be Hasbro>Item cost is 3$, tooling 1300>This is regardless of scale>Can't sell 1/18 scale stuff for 20$ each>Switch to bigger toy because people will pay more>Takes two cases produced to profit>tfw
