(Note the following came from the various two packs that Walmart had on sale for $15 a piece on Black Friday that I loaded up on; as the bulk of them were figures I never saw at regular single figure releases)

Dead End has a cool robot mode but his vehicle mode is kind of shit in that the back end of his car mode doesn't tab together unfortunately. Which is crappy, as I don't have this issue with the other Stunticons

Wildride is a cool looking Decepticon that sadly doesn't get much love but his new figure is well worth the wait. The only problem is the fact that he comes with the same guns as Dead End.

Having resigned myself to never getting a regular Breakdown (due to him going for nearly a hundred bucks due to shitty distribution issues), I eagerly got the two-pack with G2 Breakdown; the only G2 Stunticon I have of this set. The colors are a bit garrish and it's annoying as fuck that the spoiler is detachable and the "axe" combo mode with his gun is utterly laughably ugly. And my figure's hip joints are tight as fuck. Still, at least I have him since in this day and age, I find it harder and harder to justify paying high end rape dollar prices for TF figures, especially given the shitty distribution they have and Hasbro's own garbage greed causing them to yank up the prices of the figures while decreasing the quality and shoving down peoples throats garbage no one fucking wanted or asked for (Rock Monster dogshit, Fossilizers, and the 13 Primes)

Probably my favorite of the lot: Armada Wheeljack is a cool figure and along with the Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream, the only from the Armada figure of the modern lines I own. A shame though we don't have his fucking minicon though.

And then we have this dud. His "spear" weapon is dogshit and he lacks all of the cool shit his RED figure had accessory-wise. When the RED figure is better than the mainline figure, you know shit is bad.

Another mort who I got stuck with in the two pack format. Robot mode is tiny as fuck and smaller than the other minibot deluxes and has a lot of dangling parts on his legs and pointless accessories (the energy rods and rocket pack). The only redeeming thing is his vehicle mode being a moderately cute UFO craft but without a flight stand it's kind of crappy.

Finally we have this fucker, which was packed with one of the Stunticons. I hate the fucking decision to waste line space on the Primes, let alone the 13 Prime concept. That said, even though Solus's vehicle mode is dogshit, her robot mode is shockingly good with god level articulation. I'm tempted to go full Downshaft with her and repurpose her as Nautica from MTMTE since her robot mode is shockingly similar to Nautica's, minus the underwater fan engine kibble

Why did you pay that much money on Transformers back issues when you could just buy the fucking compendiums?

What a retarded take. This isn't anything new, that's why being late to the party sucks but everyone should already know that. That's how collecting works, and in this case they're doing reissues and recolors so it isn't that bad.

This guy too.

I was thinking of making a small display for followers of Unicron too but is Tarantulas actually related to Unicron? Or was that some weird headcanon based on a joke. I honestly can't remember.
>>
>>11660258
>Or was that some weird headcanon based on a joke.
Mostly headcanon, ends up being real in some stories
>>
>>11660258
Tarantulas being the spawn of Unicron was intended to be an insult not literal. it's the equivalent of calling someone the spawn of satan.
>>
>>11660205
Siren was initially supposed to be an update/homage to Red Alert, aka Sideswipe's repaint. But decided to make him grey and blue instead once they decided to create a proper firetruck Headmaster.
>>
Tried watching bumblebee and it's genuinely terrible slop, did it at least spawn any good toys? All I can remember is a not-phantom with straight wings and bee
>>
>>11660406
bbm studio series Optimus is beloved, I think one of the two main decepticons had a majorly good toy, and all of the cybertronian mode toys are relatively good. Cybertronian Brawn has a toilet mode. BBM concept Megatron didn't appear in the movie but is one of the best Megatron toys released (although ss86 is better since it has an actual fucking alt mode that looks like something)
>>
>>11660378
Pretty much, there was that bit that brought up they had different origins, but they never elaborated what that was in the show. Was he made by the Quintessons like the og animal combiners? Those kabuki guys? G2 Cybertronians? Who knows?

how many trans and gay formers are there in these comics compared to IDW
>>
>>11660460
a lot
it's definitely not for incels
>>
>>11660460
I think Omega Supreme is called a they. I legitimately thought that the comic was referring to multiple guardians at first. I fucking hate this retarded degradation of communication. The new OC might also be a they, but I guess you could give the writers the benefit of the doubt and say that they is used because gender can genuinely be ambiguous before clarification with transformers these days.
>>
>>11660460
Barely any thank God.

Only borderline case is a guy who's been recreated from multiple different individuals, who refers to themselves as a "they". But it's handled pretty well.
>>
>>11660460
No gays yet but they've started recycling a lot of the shitty parts of IDW including Thundercracker as a good guy and repeating the exact same rape of MASK as begire
>>
>>11659288
So what's next year's Haslab going to be?

I wouldn't mind seeing them finally make an all Seeker retool of Superion.
>>
>>11660728

>>
>>11660562
Isn't the new guy multiple sparks merged together? So maybe he is literally multiple bots in one or something.

>>11660730
Hopefully they ditch for a made to order model and with a longer time window. But imma say Landcross. And it will be $500 lol
>>
>>11660753
It would be super shitty if they made the next Haslab be freaking Metroplex quite frankly
>>
>>11660941
Is there a reason they haven't done that yet,? Seems like a no brainer
>>
>>11661124
No clue. Hell, Hasbro refused to make a repaint of Metroplex as Metrotitan when the IDW comic suddenly made Metrotitan relevant.
>>
>>11661133
I remember how they brought up to repaint t30 metro as metrotitan for sdcc and were shot down. They were really against doing full blown Titan repaints, for some reason.
>>
>>11661136
but they did 3
Black Zarak, Gudardian Robot and Grand Maximus
>>
>>11661133
I think Hasbro knows they fucked up Metroplex but don't want to put in the time and money redoing him from scratch either out of spite or dislike of the character
>>
>>11661156
I think the bigger issue is Metroplex is a flat character whereas Omega Supreme, Scorponok, Fort Max, even Trypticon have more personality than Metroplex. Also, IIRC, Omega and Scorponok had low production runs and sold out immediately (necessitating a new production run justified by the retool/repaint versions) while Metroplex was had the largest production run of all of the Titans and sold better than Fort Max or Trypticon, both of which went straight to Ollies
>>
>>11661179
I don't think Hasbro worries about the character where it's a big toy that sells well.
Given that Metroplex did sell so well, makes it surprising that they didn't do a recolor, but given that he was the first titan, they might have been nervous about pressing their luck with a repaint of such an expensive toy, especially since the G2 box sets of the combiner wars guys didn't do so well
>>
>>11661156
Yes, many years later.
>>
>>11661208
no, they cranked them out pretty quick after the initial release.
and why does it matter when they put them out?
>>
>>11660730
I'm feeling a giant rail-racer
>>
>>11661213
I'll be more specific, those repaints did come out pretty fast, yes, but the policy of releasing the repaint a short while later didn't start until after Scorponok was released. Titans between Metroplex and Predaking didn't get a full blown repaint, and Omega didn't get his until after Black Zarak came out.

Grand Maximus doesn't factor into this since it's a Takara product and it was notable because they had to crowdfund it.
>>
>>11661221
That reminds me; was there ever talk about doing Titans for the OG Legends line? They did an Ark playset and even Shockwaves worm mount from TF3 but never the cityformers
>>
So are any of the Prime figures wotth a damn?

>>11661303

Star Convoy deserves some recognition for almost replicating tbe original toy, but with modern engineering and slightly better proportions. Had they used more paint, I'd be perfect. I've only fiddled with the rest (don't own them) but here's my opinions:

Onyx: he sucks, he has several transformations, but they're all garbage, his colors needed something else to break up all the bronze, and he has rubbery parts that weren't even necessary.
-Solus: Sucks, unpleasant to handle, weak transformation, a joyless experience.
-Alchemist: He's ok, but his glasses accesories is garbage, and the back of his car mode was poorly planned out.
-Prima: As car as voyagers go, he's alright, but his sword should be bigger.
-Megatronus: Avoid, the rubbery parts are bad enough, but they thigh transformation joint and mushroom peg are both poorly designed and will break without mods.
-Trion: Didn't like the proportions and I felt like the chest could have been better. Didn't feel that wowed by it.
-Micronus: The Apex armor is great, smile Micronus feels like a time bomb. After modding my friends Megatronus, he told me to check Micronus. On his copy, the ball joints were very tight. I sanded them down with various grits until they were slightly loose, but could still hold posses just fine.
>>

>Isn't the new guy multiple sparks merged together? So maybe he is literally multiple bots in one or something
Yeah, it's a Frankenstein's monster situation.
It's like the borg
>>
>>11661363
okay but theyd better use proper plurals then, consistently
>>
>>11661310
If he's talking about TF Prime, I'd recommend the Cyberverse stuff. Especially Abominus who's the best version of a legend scale conbiner
>>
>>11661355
Solus works if you keep her in robot form and the fact that she's a perfect stand in for Nautica from MTMTE.
>>
>>11661355

>>
>>11661379
Haven't had a chance to mess with it, don't intend to get one from what I've seen of it. My friends getting Alchemist soon, and I really want to see thag one in-person since I've liked what I've seen so far, but I'm not paying 45 for one.
>>
>>11661363

>>
>>11661303
lol, no
>>
>>11661355
>Star Convoy deserves some recognition for almost replicating tbe original toy, but with modern engineering and slightly better proportions. Had they used more paint, I'd be perfect

Complete disagree. They botched every single thing that made the base mode fun. Microtrailer too big to fit through the back doors, vehicles can't roll inside due to big square pegs on the floor, Hot Rod too big to interact with the command room, Zodiac wasting space in the middle of that room instead of being placed in the "shelf" of the back wall, arm that can't be posed correctly, Roller that doesn't stay perfectly flat after opening it and attaches in a way that makes the arm and rotating turret collide...
It's extremely frustrating how they managed to fuck up things that are extremely simple to get right. And to top it off, the hand transformation is designed in a way that shaves the small tabs on each side of the rotating piece every time you do it.

I like how it looks, but there's way too much obviously bad decisions and disappointing things that makes me think they rushed the design.
>>
>>11661419

You have to like the Animated Optimus aesthetic. If that doesn't do anything for you, I don't think Motormaster is going to do much since there's not a lot of G1 MM there.
>>
>>11661777
It's decent. Way more affordable than Legacy G1 Motormaster and the fact that he has an actual personality (basically Macho Man Randy Savage as a Decepticon) helps

I really wanted quickstrike as i liked him for years after watching some of beast wars but i missed that era of beast wars toys so he never had a figure available during my younger years besides the OG figure which is expensive now. I always wanted this character and am so glad i picked him up. Actually he was in the back too, they had sureshot and a few quintessa prime figures out on shelves and the junkion but i only really wanted quickstrike so i had a target guy scan sureshot and go into the back and find quickstrike and i decided to get sureshot as well because i wanted him to fight quickstrike and im a sucker for minicons and he comes with a targetmaster mini trasnformer too.

Hasbro? complete a team?
>>
>>11664686
We only got Scoop because IDW killed off one of the Constructicons and came up with a BS storyline of him being drafted to replace him.

The Autobot double Targetmasters always sucked whereas the Decepticon ones were cool looking and had a way more prominent role as Thunderwing's henchmen. But yeah, it's shitty that Hasbro has been inconsistent as fuck with the Targetmaster partners, especially when you factor in that they did a box set reissue of Spinister with G1 style targetmaster partners while the box set version of Sludgeslinger (one of the two Decepticon Targetmasters who were impossible to get at retail and go for insane money on the secondary market) doesn't have his Titan Returns style Targetmaster partner or any Targetmaster partner period.
>>
>>11665141
The Generations toy came out first. It wasn't til later that IDW made him Scrapper's replacement, because they had to push Combiner Wars.
>>
>>11665141

Scoop was chosen in T30 because the designer Joe Kyde wanted a construction vehicle that could be done within the budget of a deluxe, and the color was appealing.

Only 2 guys left for 2026 age of primes reveals.
Nexus & liege
Nexus is a wildcard, being at the voyager price point.
Either he'll be 4 minicons that join on a deluxe bit frame (lame)
Or he'll be 2 bots with weapons, and you buy 2 to complete the 5 bot team, one being a weaponizer.
Or, he'll just be a voyager sized frame that the 4 deluxe primes somehow plug into. (Least likely)

And liege... Is gonna be a big mofo.

Probably some form of toy figure of the Unicron cultists from TF #74, who wore Unicron masks and were the same size as Powermaster Optimus Prime and Scorponok
>>
>>11666012
They're going to use a Leader price point on that?
The only way I would interested is if it's just a Leader Class Unicron and they're just calling it a "Soldier" because it's so small

I can imagine Ask Vector Prime retconning them into those flying symbols from the cartoon intro
>>
>>11666119
Ya know, they say the symbols are based off (if loosely) Prowl and Soundwave's faces. Wonder if they'll turn into them.

Leaders are only the size of Voyagers when they're more complex than usual like a triple changer, or have a bunch of engineering. Big Convoy is not on the same level as Lio Convoy or Primal in terms of complexity. And the Dinobots, as larger Leaders aren't as complex as those smaller Leaders like Big Convoy.

Japan doesn't give a shit about G2.

I know this is not the exact place to post this

But the old mask thread disappeared and they are transforming vehicles so please indulge me a bit

I saw these last Friday in stores
I thought I supposed to be limited release in United States through bbts?

And like, is mask still a thing?
>>
>>11666436
Well it's a thing in the Skybound comics rn
>>
>>11666436
MASK is currently in a fate worse than death hell these days. The Sitterson/Kirkman clique despise the franchise and keep trying to force a full on rape of the franchise, most notably demanding Matt Trakker be black, Sly Rax a clean shaved Kpop idol, and Gloria a dark skinned Hispanic while in the same breathe refusing point blank to use ANY of the actual minority characters from the franchise. They also insist on Miles Mayhem being the co-OG GI Joe along with John Coltrane and writing Cliff Dagger and Vanessa utterly out of character (Cliff isn't a dumb muscle thug but a secret genius who became a crook due to growing up poor, Vanessa is a literal do nuttin' who represents the woke mafia's idea that any time a woman is called a BPD psycho, it's because an incel chud hates string independent women and that being called a BPD psycho can ruin a woman's life and force her to turn to crime).

Kirkman, who pretty much despises Hasbro fans for getting Sitterson (his BFF) blackballed from working in comics (and banned from working in Kirkman's Hasbro books) has been stealth restoring the infamous IDW status quo for MASK VIA nigger Trakker and IDW explicitly tying Miles to GI Joe and MASK vehicles being reversed engineered TF tech

>Star Convoy
I was a bit underwhelmed but I also got him sub $80 so can't complain really
I know a few touch ups will really improve him

>Onyx
Couldn't be more wrong honestly on exception of the softer material wings that really do hurt it and mine are curving a little
He's been one of my top 3's so far
He's got a bunch of fan modes that I feel so much more favorable of

>Solus
Also wild to say that
Her transformation can be annoying with the shoulder parts but she's great. Feels good, looks great and is fun with 3P stuff like the Anvil out there

>Alchemist
The fists in the back of the Vehicle does suck but they're neatly folded in so it kinda blends
It's a pretty solid Vehicle mode feeling wise, Tho yea the Glasses Accessory sucks

>Prime
One of my top 3 and I can kinda see complaints but I also have the older Dr Wu Sword so he's 9/10 for me there. A nicer head would be cool tho so i'll prob hunt that

>Megatronus
The rubbery Accessory is obnoxious and I haven't -yet- gotten stressing but I'd have to see what the real issue is and how to fix and apply it. He's mostly stayed in Robot honestly

>Trion
He looked underwhelming to me so he's not high on priority currently so I have yet to get him
I like aspects of him but he needs a nicer head

>Micronus
I think Armor could have been better and yea I have very faint white signs on the Knee Ball Joints of mine
He's still firm and good but still. I may get a second and go straight to trying to smooth it somehow

>>11661379
I got him recently and honestly I do like him but I fear for the clear plastic lower half. So far no complaints but really wish he had Prima style hands
>>
Are the G1 Seekers any good? Local comic shop has several of the reissue Seekers (Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp) on sale for like $30 a piece. Worth picking them up?
>>
>>11667051
Do you collect G1 toys? Do you genuinely find them fun? Don't buy them if the answer to either of those questions is no.
>>
>>11667051
If you can get pass the partsforming and lack of articulation the area tolerable.
>>
>>11667051
The "new" G1 reissues are considerably worse in every way
Unironically hunt down an older one or go KO/Reproduction off Aliexpress. Tho are atleast close to the Die Cast

Forgive me in advance for being a retarded newfag asking a question that's been asked a million times, but I've been getting into Transformers more and more over the course of the past year. Mainly been watching the shows and I'm starting to read the comics.
Now I'm at a point where I'd like to grab a few figures. What's the best place to start, as far as a good balance between quality and price?
>>
>>11667101
I won't lie to you Anon. Thanks to Hasbro's greed and tariffs, you're fucked on price no matter what you pick. So be ready.

This is a bad time for the mainline, there was just yet another price hike that makes everything only palatable on sales and clearance. But really ,the question is, what figures do you want? Are there any particular characters and designs you want, or do you just want any Transformer? Anything from years ago, or anything modern?
>>
>>11667101
It heavily depends
My personal picks for getting into a line or formers in general
Universe
>Hound

Armada
>Thrust
>Deluxe Optimus
>Blurr

Generations
>Bumblebee/Goldbug (The nice one with a comic)
>Skids/Crossout
>Dreadwing [I personally like Last Knight TRU Megatron]
>Scourge

Reveal the Shield
>Rodimus/Cyclonus set
>Jazz
>Optimus
>Seaspray
>Lugnut [Good luck]

Bayverse
>TF1 Landmine
>TF1 Wreackage
>ROTF Breakaway
>ROTF Ransack
>AOE Evasion Optimus
>TLK Voyager Megatron
>TLK Voyager Hound
>Rise of the Beasts Mainline Voyager and Studio Series Optimus

This is not counting Studio Series or recent Siege/Legacy/Age of the Primes lines
That's a whole different list
>>
>>11667117
I'm anticipating some dogshit prices. I might just get one figure and then wait to see how things pan out.
>>11667120
Honestly, I'm okay with a pretty wide variety of characters. So far, I've gotten through G1, Beast Wars and Beast Machines, 2001 RiD, and now I'm in the Unicron Trilogy with Armada. As I said, also trying to start reading the comics, starting with Skybound and the OG comics.
I'd like to get some stuff from a lot of the shows, but if I had to choose right now, I'd say G1 or Armada. Beast Wars stuff would also be nice, though.
>Anything from years ago, or anything modern?
I've got no clue what the market for older stuff looks like, but I'm willing to swing for old or new. I just want figures that look nice, I'm not really concerned with true collectortism right now.
>>11667136
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look.
>>
>>11667101
>good balance between quality and price?
Studio series 86 fits the bill
Studio series USED to cost 10-15% more but they gave up on that.
Aside from that... 2026 is kind of a dead year for transformers. The Age of the Primes line has a couple good ones coming this year, but there's no movie to have tie ins to, and the earthspark show got cancelled. The cyber world toys are for 5 year olds.
So yeah, studio series 86 is probably the way for you. We're getting soundwave, shockwave, megatron should still be on shelves, thundercracker and starscream will probably hit first thing 2027 or maybe even Christmas this year.
>>
>>11666614
Probably can't get or afford the trademark for 'Switchblade'.
>>
>>11667280
For almost any of them
Rhino is now like... Mobile command center or something.
>>
>>11667295
>>11667280
Yeah, I guess that's better than changing the name altogether. Blastblade or something stupid
>>
>>11667295
>>11667327

Why not just call it MASK Rhino like Hasbro does with Autobot Jazz? Is Rhino actually trademarked?
>>
>>11667337
Because Mask is also a common place word
Autobot jazz works cause it's combining the common word with a specialized one.
Putting periods between the letters don't count since you wouldn't say "Em aye ess kay rhino"
>>
>>11667360
Or they could just use the full name of M.A.S.K., its an acronym, after all. Mobile Armored Strike Kommand Rhino, anyone?

>These toys are a complete disaster

Idk
From what I got from both the English and ESL and Chinese reviews
The maker of the new line seems to be not able to decide on whether the line should be a reproduction or "remaster"

Most of the fitting issues seem to be they are using the existing figures trying to reverse engineer the design rather than using the old toys as a starting point to redraw the CAD and redo the old design.

It is kind of disappointing when not in motion the vehicle looks great but things start to fall apart when moving

Then again not like I will getting any of them at those price over here

Anyway

Have a robosen picture at local TRU
>>
>>11667384
I mean, sure, but that's also a lot more text than Mobile Defense Unit.
Not to mention in databases it would cut off, every item would look the same
>>
>>11667295
>>11667795

>They didn't rename the Rhino as Mobile Kommand Unit or Mobile Kommand Base

What a missed opportunity.
>>
>>11667187
sounds like you wanna basically look up your favorite characters, get the best one of them, and be content and wait until things blow over. or more realistically, collapse.

man so there's upgrade kits for razorclaw but they do not include the helmet..
>>

So monster jam is undoubtedly a hotwheels crossover
Cemetery is probably a universal monster mummy
