I kind of hate how Power Rangers handled Goldar's wings in general. He has them in episode 1, then they disappear (save for Trini's dream) until Lord Zedd restores them in season 2. I prefer the idea of them just retracting when not needed. It also seems like it would be really cumbersome walking around with those big wide things all the time, and I have to imagine they were difficult to work with on set knocking into things, so I'm surprised the MMPR production staff commited to having them be a permanent fixture.

So I recently found a couple of old Bandai PR figures (MMPR Bee Monster and Sky and Bridge from SPD). The only other pre-Lightning Series Ranger figures I own are the original Tommy/Green Ranger suto Morpher, a MMPR spider mobster, and an eight inch Goo Fish monster filed away somewhere else.Been thinking about picking up some more OG Bandai figures, especially for the seasons that got crappy representation on the Lightning Series (Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force). As well as monster/villain figures. What are the best Time Force and Lightspeed Rescue figures and what are some good "name" season big bad figures one can get in the five inch scale? And what are some of the pricier figures I will need to pay big bucks for?

>>11709380The Lightspeed Rescue figures were pretty awful. Roided to an absurd degree even by Bandai America standards. Also only had swivel shoulders and no head articulation. The Time Force figures had similar articulation issues, but had an added issue in which despite the hips being ball joints, the legs could only move forward. Body sculpts were better than Lightspeed, but still pretty roidy. I really wouldn't recommend either. If you'd be content with just reds and sixths, Bandai's 2014 action heroes were overall better figures than anything pre-SPD, and they're consistent with each other.

By the time they reached Lightspeed, they dropped the extra toy-only weapons so you have most of their actual arsenal in the package and the larger weapons are even painted. As for main villains, Ecliptor, Captain Mutiny, Barbarax, Diabolico, Frax, Ransik, Master Org and Jindrax all have figures. Most of them are pricey if you're looking for one with all their parts. Otherwise if you don't mind missing weapons and a hand or foot missing you could find them pretty cheap. The priciest old Bandai figures i usually see are any of the canon Battlized Rangers. They usually released battlizers for all rhe male rangers, but since Red was usually the only one to get one on screen those are usually the hardest and priciest to find complete. I've been hunting a Battlized Andros for ages and the lowest complete listing I've seen in recent years was around 180 bucks.
