goddamn it wrong board
Well... any good Samus toys while we're here?
>>11688687Yeah. Mostly imports but I think Jakks Pacific has a decent line at $10 a pop. They've done two Samus, a standard and a Dark version. They done Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, Shinobi and Golden Axel in addition to their Mario and Sonic figures. Good luck out there /VR/trooper.
>>11688677Practice bomb jumping in a safe vertical shaft. Farm energy after you open shortcuts not before bosses. Or just play Zero Mission instead.
>>11688687The dread figma is pretty good looking, can't confirm with articulation but she can do most poses I can think of
>>11688705They also did a big light up Metroid that I can't find anywhere.
Was there ever a good Super Metroid figure? I hate the look of the suit on the other games.
>>11688705The Jakks figures missing bicep swivels is practically criminal.
>>11688687I wanted those Figma or whatever they had when Other M came out. They just look really good. Settled for the squishy Metroid Amiibo
>>11688687The figmas are all good, my favorite is the Prime 3 version but you can't go wrong with any of them.>>11688729Yes but it's a super expensive garage kit that's mad expensive now.
>>11688687I saw these years ago, but never hunted them down. anybody remember M.U.S.C.L.E.? these aren't really that, but like, a cool knock-off
>>11688965>anybody remember M.U.S.C.L.E.?Yes! I have a bag full of those guys. They're great.
>>11688687>>11688791The reissues of all 3 of the older Samus Figmas are either out now of coming in the next month or so. Other M is out now, and Prime 3 and Zero Suit should be next month unless they get delayed.
>>11688729Joyride, came out in 2002.
Figma's MP3 Samus is peak, I'll post mine a bit tomorrow
Oh look at that
>>11689033>missed Dread figma for some reason>high aftermarket price>rerelease when dammit>tariffs nowlaugh at me
>>11688965The funny thing about this is that there were official Metroid keshis.
>>11688677>reach boss in Brinstar>die>have to leave area to grind health for 10 minutes>go back through Brinstar>spend 5 minutes trying to time the morph bomb jump>continue to an identical shaft>spend 5 minutes trying to time the morph ball jump AGAIN>have to go through two hallways, take a total of 80 health from enemies that spawn on top of you that you can’t dodge>finally get to room before boss, have to grind bee enemies for health for 10 minutes>boss tanks 10 missiles>die>repeat>go to Youtube>watch some guy speedrun through the whole thing effortlessly in one single try
>>11688857>Yes but it's a super expensive garage kit that's mad expensive now.Where do you even get it? I don't think I've ever seen it in stock in mandarake.
>>11688965>>11689056A few Metroid keshis scanned, maybe one day those toohttps://archive.org/details/@keshicorner?query=metroid
Bros, I'd kill Miles MacKenzie for a GoodSmile Raven Beak, Dark Samus and Sylux.
With how Lego has been targeting basedlennials, you would think they would make a set of Samus’s ship but i guess Nintendo only wants sets for the real popular stuff
>>11688729What's wrong with the Prime suit?
>>11688857>>11689008Dang.>>11690300Too lanky, lost her curves and femininity, pauldrons are too big, and both the greeble over her suit and the sharper shapes make the design appear more dated. The highlights didn't age great either.
i want a chozo doll
Some cool stuff if anyone is interested is coming out.
see picrel
>>11688985Are they re-issuing dredd? I skipped because of price at the time. What's the difference to Prime 3 and the recent Prime Samus they made?
Chogokin coming soon
>>11694240Have one pre-ordered, I know the knees are a little weird looking but the idea of owning a chogokin articulated and bigger than usual samus is too tempting, I do wish they had gone with either her standard look or one of the new suits.
>>11694240pointless scale.
>>11693880I actually beat the game yesterday but thanks.Didn't realize the Varia was at the beginning of the game, grabbing that and a few energy tanks I missed made the game a lot easier
>>11694240>Doesn't scale to anything>$400 US dollars>wHy dOn'T gAmeRs bUy ToYs?
>>11694240Even without all the scale issue, I feel like this design is one of Samus' worst armor. The purple just doesn't work with the red/orange/tan of the suit. Also, Beyond is fucking awful and is the only Metroid game I regret playing, and I played Other M day 1.
>>11694240Those knees suck so much it is unreal, doesnt help that I hate the design too.
>>11694400>$400 US dollarsIt's not even $200.00 even if you go with BBTS it doesn't reach $300.00>>11694402> Beyond is fucking awful and is the only Metroid game I regret playing, and I played Other M day 1.I saw the writing on the wall and I was still like "nononono, I have to see for myself" man I really wish I kept my money.
Beyond was literally the worst game I've ever played.
>>11694429>I saw the writing on the wall and I was still like "nononono, I have to see for myself" man I really wish I kept my money.I wasn't aware of the issues with development past the studio change back to Retro Studios, and knowing that people that previously worked at 343 touched this game makes a lot of sense when you see the game we got. It's funny too, because I remember saying to a friend when I was in the Volt Forge that the game felt like a horde mode in a generic shooter at times, before I was aware about the 343 thing. At least I'm glad that an actually good Metroid game, Dread, got figures.
>>11694490>At least I'm glad that an actually good Metroid game, Dread, got figures.I think objectively super may be the best metroid game, but dread is my favorite, I just really like the movement, I have to admit it's pretty linear for a metroid game tho.I hope we get more dread figmas but I think it's probably too late by now, that said I wasn't expecting us to get the E.M.M.I. so who knows.
>>11689033>Reissue>$100+>When the original was like $50Fuck off.
>>11690206Huh what's that Metroid in the test tube? That's really cool.
>>11688857I need this suit and color scheme but articulated, I dislike Prime's gigantic shoulders so much
Don’t know why I haven’t stopped in here since first seeing the OP, but hell yeah, Metroid thread.>>11694240This thing will die so that Figma Vi-O-La can live, I feel it in my bones. I would also accept a Sylux, which is a sick inverted Samus design even if the final boss fight sucked ass.>>11694490>>11694429Beyond felt like playing a GCN-scramble Nintendo game like Sunshine/Wind Waker: a nice looking, well-polished, barren game clearly lacking content. I say that lovingly but also critically.
>>11694744>Beyond felt like playing a GCN-scramble Nintendo game like Sunshine/Wind WakerI disagree. Beyond is such a linear game that there are only two very boring side content (the optional tanks/missiles/etc and the green energy) and both are rewards for tedious tasks instead of having the exploration and puzzles be fun like in previous titles, or Wind Waker for example. I don't hate Miles for example, but I do hate his purpose in the game, which is funneling you to the right path when the game deems it necessary and not anytime else. Both Sunshine and Wind Waker feel infinitely more polished than this turd, IMO.Also fuck Sylux and fuck Sakamoto's hard on for this nothing character (though I hope you get your figure since you enjoy the design).
>>11694814I fucking hate Beyond so much too, fellow Metroid fans.
I like MP4 and Other M.
>>11694814I think it was Tanabe who was really into Sylux. Sakamoto has very little to do with the Prime series, in fact they pivoted from Chozo after Prime 1 because they didn’t want to step on his toes/lore.
StillNeed the joyride but have the rest of the articulated ones
Cant go wrong with any of the Figma fwiw
>>11688791The Metroid is getting a reissue in Japan, so I might order one from Play Asia right now. I was hoping there would be other reissues too. I manage to get every Samus except for bike Samus, cause I don't want to pay 40 bux for an amiibo. Saw a few today, so hoping Best Buy will eventually do another discount. I just need that one, Sylux, the Metroid, and Ridley. Ridley is 64 bux on Play Asia, I'm gonna have to hold out on that price. The metallic colors of Samus's power suit look so good >>11690300I bought this after I wanted but didn't get the Samus Returns amiibo. This figure is pretty ass. I did get that amiibo for a decent price of 25 bux from Play Asia. Now it's 110 bux.
>>11697424Samus Returns Varia is such a sick design, I wish we had gotten a figure of it.
This reminds me, I need to get back to playing Zero Mission. Fun game.
>>11689033Reminder that the Other M armor is ugly looking
>>11695008I kick myself every week for waiting on dread and now it's oop. Maybe for my bday, it'll be that or lunar or dragon quest. Sorry for off topic. >>11697770I'm having fun memorizing vanilla nes. Wish I had fusion and ZM, great games and nice graphics.
>>11688857I've wanted this kit for over a decade. So damn fire.>>11689030They are doing a re-release thank goodness. I missed it the first time.>>11690206What pod is that?>>11697424Would kill for that Samus Returns suit to be made into a figure. It's so clean.
>>11698620Would upload more but this new three stage Captcha is too annoying to bother with.
>>11698621>this new three stage Captcha is too annoying to bother with.I actually prefer it to the old one. No typing required, just a few clicks and cursor drags, much faster and easier IMO. Also, for me it's only two stages for some reason, when the new captcha was originally introduced for the first few days it was three stages but then it always started giving me 2-stage ones only, and the task is always the same (pick one image that's not like the others).
>>11699459Same here. 2 stages for me. I was reading heaps of complaints on various boards about the "find 2 stars with 5/6 spikes" stage and that's the one that no longer appears for me. I hope cleaning my cache doesn't cause that stage to come back
>>11699464It will. I think.
>>11699464Fuck the stars. That one makes me not want to post at all.
>>11697469>>11698620If there's one Varia I want a figma of, it's the Dread one. It's definitely my favorite suit from that game
>>11700639I like Dread Varia, but I feel the white clashes a little too much with the orange, dread gravity is pure sex tho.
>>11700639>>11700741I think the Dread suit Figma adapted was the best choice, I like the Gravity suit but you’re barely in it over the span of the game and I personally am not a fan of the Varia suit. But if anyone were to make a Metroid suit (i.e. the one from the final sequence) it would be an instabuy from me.
>>11688965>anybody remember M.U.S.C.L.EI have a few Ultimate Muscle/Kinnikuman ones
>>11688677>this just stays up for 10 daysok. I mean I'm not really complaining but lol
>>11700771>Metroid suit (i.e. the one from the final sequence) it would be an instabuy from meNta but same, can't believe no one has made it. It's probably one of my favorite suits of the whole franchise.
>>11701741It's really not that surprising, figma only makes whatever is in the box art really, that's the only reason we got dread power suit specifically, seems badai is following the trend with the chogokin. The real surprise was the E.M.M.I. I did not see that coming at all.I sometimes daydream about a high end metroid line that eventually makes all suits, NES metroid power suit, super's varia and pink gravity, dread's gravity and metroid, fusion's varia, prime 2's dark and light suits.A man can dream.>>11701361This thread gets just enough activity to survive in the barren wasteland that is /toy/
>>11701825>I sometimes daydream about a high end metroid line that eventually makes all suitsmy zero mission bias and brawl nostalgia (nostawlgia?) requires the legendary suit immediately
>>11701825>>11702499>my real dreamgamers dont buy toys so itll never happen
>>11702504Beyond that, it's probably not very appealing outside hardcore metroid fans, a normal metroid fan will probably be ok with a any Varia suit and don't get anything else, specially since a lot of the suits are variations of said varia suit which only really obsessed fans would even know the differences for.
>>11702519its why pokemon lego is successful while mega keks failed
>>11702504Gamers are literal poors who pop blood vessels when a game costs $10 more than usual.
>>11702660Videogames weren't worth $60 in the first place, disgusting model where you're outright buying a broken product by early adopting plus the DLC monetization. It'd be like if movies released plagued with technical issues and incomplete CGI and only the budget bin BD buyers got to watch it proper 2 years later (movies are already getting refreshed while on theatres so it won't be long until that becomes reality anyway).
>>11690206>mackenziekill yourself.
