>>11887769only 2 snake arms? wtf is this?
>>11887769Hiss not coming with his shield or staff, though theyre both depicted in the artwork, is pretty strange. But seeing Necroconda on there is potentially really cool. Would love to see a Chronicles version.
>>11887780Damn. I forgot I still need that skeletor! Got Two-Bad the other day and thought I was done. Its really fun though, but the extra parts seem a waste unless I keep switch it back.
Also got my remote control dragon today!! So much fun. He walks, he roars, he lights up and breaths steam all for just $8!!
>>11886139That looks good and the size works. There's a cool, serpent like dragon that is some DBZ toy, on Ali, about 10-12" assembled, but it appears to not articulate at all despite the cuts?
>>11887804Yeah that is a good size. So you got it from some Australian toy site?
I am glad I got one for less than these pink tags but I also saw one in a deeply damaged box for $4.99.I'm going to hit the Mattel store next week, turns out it's like half the length of a football field from the sports medicine clinic I routinely go to be seen and I have an appointment next Friday.
For now, I've removed all the equipment that can be taken off Skeletor.
>>11887819I went to the Mattel store a three weeks ago and I missed a few Chronicles Scareglow they put out. Feelsbadman. So I bought one off eBay.
>>11887830did you destroy his loincloth by removing it? I want to take mine off but it seems glued down pretty good
>>11887830Super homoerotic anon…
>>11887830Goddamn wtf? Lol.
>>11887812Yeah. I already have this in my DB display.>>11887814No. Amazon UK. Was on sale for £8, but same dragon is on Amazon.com. A lot more expensive though for some reason, looks like its mass produced and sold under lots of different names.https://www.amazon.com/Betheaces-Dinosaur-Learning-Realistic-Spraying/dp/B07FCL4ZFN/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=3IXOVJ5SLP6K3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.yVRGpuZ91fcYLSDy3pU86Wlr2oVGeXe-8ZYWmhwlSOh--jbJujcjKfbm_-BqLucl_1mCEacjHk6GLiMW88PONo_jtT2vZJQVRHWaribX3iL2R6VwFYw7Gq0tLet2bYmeMKCg5NVxBa0T2uJzfSZCyvYCE0tLG2wWxXQmXHKZ5Lm0jOYuD8TeQ-eRahAlqTvROzHJEnUa__janSPqh8P2bQ.Y40VIIT3ch05nK0C14Rtc8d0kRysjMPLMmOt8yAVd6Q&dib_tag=se&keywords=red+dragon+toy&qid=1788025451&sprefix=red+dragon+toy%2Caps%2C246&sr=8-2
This one looks really cool as well.
>>11887830What's the overall plan anon?
>>11887865You know, you don't need all that other crap at the end - the /ref= .... just kinda doxes you because it's all cookies related to you and your views, purchases, etc.But thank you!
Its the Human Bullet!
>>11887881and a tung tung tung sahur to you too anon!
>>11887878Thanks and yeah, usually I delete it, but phone posting and got lazy. Cheers.
>>11887830Did you have to cock his hip like that?
Besides who’s been shown off what 200x characters are you willing to pay mondo tax on? For it’s >webster>whiplash>triklops>evil Lyn >buzzoff>sorceress>syklone>fisto>man e faces>roboto>king hiss>cobra Kahn any and all snakemen really
>>11887830Skeletor villainously assaulting /motu/'s sexuality with his bangin' beach bod.
>>11887892Rattlor is the big one for me. Not sure who else I'd be willing to get. I'm considering that fire and ice pack if it's widely available. At the moment I just have Clawful and while he's cool, he cost much more than I'd want to pay for this figure after import costs, shipping, etc.
>>11887892I could stop after beastman, evil lyn, and sorceress, but honestly as prices on everything else keep going up they don't feel as unreasonable as they did a year ago, may keep going after that
Better idea of scale for anyone interested just in case.
>>11887895I’m going to pass on clawful for this reason. I’d rather drop money on merman then get a few chronicles clawfuls and merman’s to be his foot soldiers
>>11887899This is good
Orko scales great with chronicles. He should also scale well with mondo if you didn’t get the timed edition Teela
And on the subject of chronicles scaling with mondo
>>11887922
brap
>>11887921That's the 200x or the Masterverse. I just got delivery of Savage He-Man with Orko but haven't even opened up the box.>>11887899The scale is nice.Actually wouldn't mind a bit longer neck, maybe adding 3-5 inches overall. To be honest, when I look at some kaiju's I own and the Mattel dino's, there's not a heck of a lot of difference - save that Filmation included dragons in at least that dragon pearl episode, and not any dinos as far as I know. Does that time travel show have them go to the past or just the future?
>>11887922only have the chronicles trap jaw but he's the exact same height as their he-man, some figures will work and others won't, probably
>>11887931200x was $13 on Amazon
>>11887612Give me your man at arms I'm fucking Canadian and we have no targets here
>>11887947Toysnowman should get some
>>11887771>>Brand manager stated Blade, Saurod and Gwildor NOT being counted as part of vintage completionAbsolutely disgusting.
>>11887892Leech, Mosquitor, maybe Jitsu.
>>11887892Realistically I'm probably sticking to He-MAn and Skeletor, I already let Man-at-arms, Teela and Keldor pass, and I reasonably wanted them.Guess we'll see when they get to Trap Jaw, Evil Lyn and King Grayskull, but as much as I do like KG, I'm expecting a similar thought process to the one I had with Keldor, which is hard to justify what is basically He-man with a cape.King Hiss has a very unique design, so that one would also be hard to ignore, other than that, I love Scareglow so that would tempt me, but the chances of him happening are probably very low.
>>11887892>>11887978Also, forgot to mention, I just thought about this yesterday, but I wonder if Battle-cat is possible? guessing yes, but I wouldn't expect it to be lower $150.00 and even tat sounds too generous.
>>11887982they will definitely make one, but it will probably be 200+
>>11887985Yeah, that's probably closer to it, these prices are crazy, and it sucks because I really like the figures, but they are really hard to justify.
>>11887982I’m sure they could get a battle cat for $110-120 based off of the timed and untimed clawful
Rate my castle greyskull custom plans
>>11888012It does look big. But the towers of Grayskull are round. So you would have to encircle those cubes. Otherwise your castle will end up looking too square. And everyone will laught at you.
>>11888012Are you gonna keep the shelves inside or just build it like picrel and place figures on the outside ledges?
>>11888013Im going to round them with foam then carve stone by hand
>>11888025Keep the shelves but add stone texture to them. I’m contemplating steps and elevators to connect them. It really depends on how the facade turns out.
>>11888034You need to add supports to the sides and round them out all together
>>11888041
>>11888042Chat would this be the biggest functional Greyskull?
>>11887722Club Grayskull. If you're not getting the monthly emails and ads for the next Club figure then send a message to Customer Service and they'll resubscribe you to the list. It fixed it for me.
>>11888049Why would you want this? Don’t give your email to companies anon.
King hiss is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Mondo 1/12 all the way.
>>11888050That's specifically what I use my email for though.
>>11887836Oh, yeah, that glue is really stubborn. I couldn't peel it off cleanly at all, so I had to sand it down bit by bit, polish the surface smooth, and then repaint it.
endlessly cool
>>11888050>>11888062>not having a burner email in the year of our skelgod 2026
>>11887892I hope whoever fucked up Ram Man by making his shoulder armor completely optional is fired. I wouldnt hope for Mondo otherwise, even without better neck range and ab crunch
>>11887899I like how most Japanese imports are small enough to fit in with MOTU.
>>11888229How is that a fuck up?
>>11888149This is my favorite Skeletor so far, and that place was held by the Classics Skeletor with Alcala head combo for years, I actually still prefer that head sculpt over MONDO's but overall they knocked it out of the park. That said I can see how this wouldn't be someone's favorite depending on how you feel about 200X or what version of Skeletor your grew up with, not to mention the insane price. Also Honorable mention to Masterverse Battle-Armor Skeletor, that head sculpt is really really good, and the bulky armor gives him a presence regular masterverse figures don't have.
>>11888049They weren't even sending me the emails for DC, which wasn't even a choice of selection, until I added MOTU earlier this summer, and now they are sending me DC but I haven't gotten anything that's not generic. I'm the one going to the corporate toy store in early September, I'll just ask one of the cashiers to help me.>>11888012>>11888025>>11888037Conceptually a good idea, foam, foamcore, cardboard, plaster, etc. should get you solid.I know people here on 4chan look down on plebbit, but reddit has an entire diorama subreddit and they have great suggestions and are actually very helpful, you can always just create a burner account for reddit and not do anything else. ignore all the push to download the app, just sign up on an actual computer.
>>11888336real-deal hobbyist subreddits are acceptable
>>11887830
>>11888281Im guessing because it comes off easily and he can lift his arms with it.
>>11887830It's a bit of a shame those combo greaves/boots don't come off. But I guess boots don't really "come off" on other lines, at most you could swap some figure's shoes for anothers bare feet, painted or not.
>>11888345in that case, while sometimes it gets far too many way-too-enthusiastic kitbashers - discovering the joys of a simple head swap for the very time - the site also has a fairly decent customs subreddit
>>11888149Very cool, how is the about crunch on him? Im seriously thinking about getting him.
Target has Movie Origins Spikor, He-Man, and the Moss/Ram two pack 30% off this week. Fright Fighter is 50% off. Everything else is regular price.
>>11888567You can actually get that price on delivery too. Anything above $35 would net you free delivery. The Roton ($15.49), and Chronicles Battle Cat ($17.99) are also on sale, almost 50% off
>>11888580Looks like Amazon is price matching on Battle Cat.
>>11888542NTA But is surprisingly good, I must say my expectations were super low since this is MONDO, and articulation is not usually their thing, so don't expect anything crazy. I don't own any chronicles figures, so maybe this has improved by now, but he is at least way better than masterverse, specially combined with the way superior waist articulation.
I'm very slowly picking and choosing random episodes that mention dragons on the wikia and finding them on Tubi to watch and just got to the Dragoon episode. I wonder who was making decisions that this one appearance character got a toy and these others did not. Dragoon (or even Dark One), especially with their ability to fly under their own power, would seem classically 'toyetic,' as the kids like to call it
And yes, I did come across the KO, but it's too much of a cheap repaint, no wings, normal hands versus claws, and a face that looks more melted plastic than dragon head. Also, why fire engine red?Besides it was probably cheap dye to inject into a mold....
>>11888869Back in day, basically no one got in, except for few main characters. It was toy first, cartoon later. In Classics/Origins, they mostly pick big names but parts reuse also matters. With big-sized figures like Dragoon, im sure they'll more picky.
>>11888351>>11888281The armor isn't attached nor even ties into anything
>>11888542It's something like this. It's pretty good.
>>11888934That's seriously excellent, I just can't pay the Mondo premium for what we should expect from an upper $20s/low $30s commercially available retail figure.I mean, not when some Chinese model kit that retails for $14.99 at Walmart, even if it's a 13cm Marvel Rival that won't scale as well, can do much of that at what -- 1/7th the price point?
>>11889000The MONDO figures are high quality, I love em, but even I can admit the math ain't mathing price wise, but maybe I'm being super naive about just how bad the global economy is.I'll say this about MONDO though, while I think their figures are expensive for what they are and I would prefer if the compromised on certain things, they arrive super protected, super fast and their customer service is great, my last 2 blokees boxes arrived crushed to hell lol.
>>11889010I pretty much agree.I think MONDO is ridiculously expensive (it cost me $170 since I live in Japan), but if you like the character, it’s still worth it.I didn’t have much confidence in MONDO’s quality before, but I’ve changed my mind.
>>11889010Well, that's ordering from Ali Express for you. I had an entire case that allegedly arrived and never did and two crushed boxes. On the other hand, the Star Wars and Marvel Rivals blokees I ordered from Walmart came well packaged and were delivered next day, without needing some Amazon Prime BS.
>>11888873Formo will probably make a better one eventually
Since they're getting a new line from Four Horsemen and their creator did direct the 1987 movie, as well as stage shows, and we got a Thundercats one awhile ago MOTU/Skeleton Warriors crossover when?>YFW super-skeletonized Skeletor and the Evil Warriors with anti-skeleton gear Masters
>>11887780DDs has been getting the ToGS Rattlor wave last week. Picked up another Rattlor for the extra neck pieces. $13 though. If the other store discounts Mekaneck and the other Ratllor,I might grab them as well. I've also found the Raph and Donnie from the wave in store.
>>11889012There's a lot to like, agreed. It's frankly more that I could get XXX numbers of things for the money I am paying to get one Mondo
>>11889116I always felt like Skeleton Warriors was set on Eternia centuries after He-Man and the supporting villains were the skeletons of Blade, Trap Jaw, Webstor and Evil-Lyn.
>>11889117The only "near" me isn't really near me but I am going to generally be in the area tomorrow afternoon after a meeting, it's where I grabbed a MV New Eternia Faker (and posted those King Hiss) so maybe I'll waste the hour and go see what they have left tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up.
>>11889186Interestingly enough, the series would've introduced shameless stand-ins for Beast Man and Two-Bad if it didn't suffer from Playmates' "Release a toyline, show off future products, then cancel the toyline immediately afterwards" policy they've had since the early 90s.At least Claw and Bone-Zai are going to be part of 4H first wave.
Bought this on sale at Walmart, only $12+ - arrived today, happy with how it looks NECK DOWN but haven't opened the box yet. Do these head swap as easily as the Sketchbook and 200x, or other similar sized lines? I don't care enough or am interested enough in TMNT, much less a Turtle villain, to ever have that on my shelf, but thought this with a different head would look interesting, and scale well. It's not the money, it's whether this would just end up in a box in the closet, versus ever getting any use, if I can't swap the head.
>>11889994>Do these head swap as easily as the Sketchbook and 200x, or other similar sized lines?Yes, all Origins are compatible with each other for swapping
>>11889994it's insane how many people keep asking this>ALL ORIGINS SWAPthey're all the exact same across the board in terms of parts swapping and articulation
Just ordered mondo 200x skeletor. God help me.
>>11890038There’s a lot of newfags and general confusion about the multiple lines and sublines.
Like the rest of the movie cronks figs, I think I can safely wait until they all flood ROSS. MC exclusive movie orko now at BBTS, much quicker than bufflyn.
>>11890138June 2027.... for orkoHe being created with some special hard to get plastic?
Do you think they should make Gym Bro/ Dream Date/HR Skeletor for Core/Origins or do they belong in Chronicles best?
>>11890162Yes
>>11890223Doubtful that they will also produce those in lower-priced options, at least not anytime soon.
>>11890138This is embarrassing for Mattel. Clearly not enough pre orders for their made-to-order Orko.
>>11888149>>11888934FUCK now I regret having missed on him. Mondo doesn't restock things right?
>>11890266Timed edition is not in stock anymore but the regular version is right now
>>11890266Standard is is stock on mondo and EE right now
>>11889117One DDs only had Faker, another had Faker, King Hiss and a lonely Shera. That second one is next to a Ross, which had MAA and Hordak and I grabbed both. They still have the Cartoon retro Carded for $14.99
>>11889186>>11889985Makes sense to use them for MotU
>>11890316
>>11890266with their 1/6 stuff, yeah, but they seem to know how much bigger the audience for 1/12 is and have said they plan to keep he-man and skeletor in circulation so newcomers can still get them
Are there other Panthors (besides the Mondo) or was this a good pick-up? I see BBTS has it for $14.99 but I actually ended up getting this for one third that.
>>11890330Mattel creations had an exclusive masterverse NE one. Sold out though. Seeing as the BC always end up peg warming and cleranced, I doubt they'll ever make a retail panthor again. Even the flocked origins one was going for clearance price at one point.
>>11890283>>11890285>>11890319God bless your pretty souls, brb
>>11890333didn't even that panthor clearance out on mattel creations? i dont know why I buy the cats at full price but I keep falling for it...
>>11890330One time Amazon had Panthor for $0.47 or something like that.
>>11887819She was alright at $13. $9 would have been better, lol.>>11890138Won't lie, kinda want the head for Night Goblin type things.
>>11890333That looks nice. Friday, I am hitting Mattel's on-site store in El Segundo. I'll have to try to be charming and polite, and ask if these ever show up. >>11890339Yeah, I try to regularly get Amazon Resale if it's available. That's how I picked up zombie Keldor but he was still like $13+? I really wanted the zombie head. I actually have been bidding on some auctions this week and picked up some other Masterverse and since this Keldor was complete and the bidding was only $6.50, I took it and will use him to customize and possibly try to crack the torso. I don't think I have ever gotten anything on line for under a buck. Walmart's $5 flash rollback/clearance are probably the best I can claim. I got a Legends 2PK from them for $11.99, so it was free when I sold the second figure for near that.
>>11890347>Night GoblinIt does have great eyes for something like that. But isn't the hat glued on or all one piece?
>>11890338>didn't even that panthor clearance out on mattel creations? No, it sold out just before the clearance sale
>>11890353Probably. I'd have to have it in hand to make a decision on whether I'd just paint the hood and ears, or try to graft a gobbo fave on there or whatever. Fuck, June is far, lol.
Boy did mondo come out of nowhere and fuck my budget up. I had a passing appreciation but ultimately decided they were too expensive for what they were. Then the reviews started. This is the hardest fomo has ever gotten me with collecting. Worse part of it is this is going to make me spend more on chronicles to have army builders. One anon mentioned doing that the other day and it’s a great idea. I’ll be getting at least 4 chronicles merman to go with the mondo one. Probably going to do the same with buzzoff. Fuck.
>>11890021Thank you
>>11890401Are more showing up? They were popping up at the start of August (same price). It was worth grabbing a few, but the price is only a few bucks less than Amazon>Buy New $29.44 with Free Prime Shipping
>>11890391I remember propping up the Mondo prototypes here but anons were (understandably) saying they're probably too expensive for what they are and would rather get the 200X Cartoon Collection. Funny to see people turning around on them once reviews actually stared kicking in. In contrast, I actually warmed up to the Cartoon Collection after watching checking out some reviews of them. Funny how things have a way of working out.
>>11890038Not completely. I recently did a headswap using CC Orko and it damaged the Orko head. I can swap it onto other figures, but it's loose on the Orko body now.
>>11890478Which body did you put it on?
>>11890316>>11890317Wouldn't they look kinda....awkward given how overly edgy SW is supposed to be compared to the colorful and lighthearted MOTU?I'm pretty sure if Grimskull were to tell the MOTU characters about his origin they'd go "what the fuck is with this guy?".
Over under on a 200X she ra from mondo?>but she wasn’t in the cartoon She still got an exclusive figure in the original line and was in the comic iirc
>>11890401>>11890425Yeah, I hit 4 Ross stores today and two of them had like a case worth of these there. If you find the right store, it's not hard to find this stuff pink tagged, some of the NECA turtle two packs, that were $29.99 are now $20.99 at these locations. But you do have to hit the boonies in your metro area for this.
Times running out
>>11890610He'll come back, He-man sold out and came back at least 2 times (that I know of), I'm sure years from now this won't be the case, but it'll be fine for 6 months to a year I'm guessing. They seem to bring back He-man whenever something goes up, it was once for Tella and recently for the regular versions of Duncan and Clawful.
There are days that dealing with people on the secondary market isn't awful. This is my price with the shipping. I got another MOTU figure as well, two Legends, and a Classified. Less than $10 per including shipping and taxes.
>>11890721Could’ve gotten all of these when the clearanced out at target for $14
>>11890735Technically, I still saved $16, more even since Target charged sales tax on the $14. Plus, I wouldn't have noticed the same, just like I pass by saw TMNT or SW on sale today. My actual out-of-pocket (including sales tax and shipping) on the four Masterverse is approximately $10.14 each. Best I could do today, for 4 Masterverse at once is BBTS, and that would still cost me more.Great for everyone who found them at Target on clearance, but that wasn't an option.
>>11890338>>11890356Is this the Mattel Creation's Panthor?
>>11890829No if you follow the conversation they are talking about the masterverse panthor, that's origins coral skeletor and panthor
Given the success of Coyote Vs Acme despite coming from a franchise that suffered decades of mismanagement, would the movie have done better if it was released at the end of the summer instead of being thrown out at the start of it?
>>11891004Then why was it dropped onto Amazon Prime one month later?
>>11891006Most movies hit streaming after about a month nowadays.
>>11891006>Then why was it dropped onto Amazon Prime one month later?France and a handful of other countries from which Amazon operates in have rules about how long a movie must be delayed for online streaming after a theatrical run. It's like nearly a year to "protect" theaters. So Amazon did a short theatrical run and then moved it to online for a global launch. Amazon's Movie head didn't really care how it did as a theatrical release, only as a seller of merch and people signing up/retaining a Prime subscription. Amazon cares about exclusive content rather than Box Office.
>>11891028I did forget to mention that MOTU didn't run in French theaters or other countries with this rule to protect theaters from streaming giants.
>>11891030>>11891028Only the frogs would write a law protecting a dead business like theaters, Jesus.
>>11891004When will the sequel be released?
>>11891082They literally greenlit the sequel already. So if you were trying to be a smartass, you failed.
>>11891004>>11891011>>11891028I thought the movie did fine ON streaming, isn't it basically accepted it bombed at the box office?
>>11891002You never know. Also CvA will barely make say $40-50m max worldwide. It will probably end up in the 80s as far as worldwide releases in 2026 by New Year's Eve. For all that people like >>11891006 and >>11891235 call it a "bomb" based on theatrical box office alone, right now there are 100 worldwide releases so far and the movie is in the top 40 comfortably and while it will move down, it likely won't fall off the top half of movies released this year.Is that what the actors or Knight wanted? No. Since a big box office would have helped their personal quote for future projects, definitely no.Is it what MGM wanted? Nope, for similar if different reasons (studio bragging rights, etc.). Likewise, Mattel, while they may be pleased with toy and merchandising sales, also wanted the bragging rights and catche that a back to back (Barbie) theatrical blockbuster would have given them. The only one that seems truly happy is Crapazom.
>>11891243>For all that people like >>11891006 and >>11891235 (You) call it a "bomb" based on theatrical box office alone, right now there are 100 worldwide releases so far and the movie is in the top 40 comfortably and while it will move down, it likely won't fall off the top half of movies released this year.I call it a "bomb" because it didn't even make it's budget back, it doesn't matter where it sits on the top of movies released, it seems however that regardless of that it did well enough on streaming, so it may not be an overall bomb. The only reason I brought box office into it it's because this interaction >>11891002 >>11891004 >>11891006 made it sound like the movie did "fine" at the box office, which just isn't true taking it's budget into account.
>>11890542I put it on the Rise of Evil skeletor body to make Orko as if he had the power of Greyskull. I even made a little muscle shirt for him.
>>11891279>he-trollan kino
>>11891285Oh thanks. I was rather happy with how he turned out. I just need to make a vinyl O to iron onto his shirt.
>>11891262>it's budget backYou are technically correct, and would be factually correct if this was 1930s to 1950s and possibly even 1960s to maybe passibly early 1970s Hollywood studio finances. Once broadcast and then home video and other distribution channels (cable, streaming, digital downloads, etc.) became part of the equation, pure theatrical ticket sales have more to do with the perception of success, bragging rights, above the line salaries, etc.Don't get me wrong, and I am not interested in engaging in a long back and forth that will derail a what is an actual thread about toys:You are also fully correct that people should not give the impression that the movie's theatrical ticket sales were any indication of success. That said, for Hollywood purposes, both at the end of the year and in 2027, they will look at the movies released and, just like NFL players who were drafted and get reassed based on the entire season/post-season, a judgment will be cast that will determine what were true failures and what wasn't.Being in the top third to top half of all releases will matter, just in ticket sales; where it ranks against other major (and because MGM is a minor studio), other wide release by minors, etc., will all be factored. But won't be the only or even the most important part of the story.
>>11891262Well you are a fucking idiot
Report the talk about the movie. It’s either trolling or just flat out off topic because it has nothing to do with toys. Stop the derailment now before it devolves any further.
>>11891316At least I'm fucking.
....retarded.
>>11891344We should have a reminder in the next OP not to reply to posts that bring up the box office or quality of the movie. At this point it's just some /tv/ autist hunting for (you)s and we don't need to have this same conversation every thread. Anyway cartoon collection Tri Klops, Man-E-Faces, and Hordak figures are hitting Ross.
>>11891358You're a corpse fucker? You really are disgusting
Ordered King Hiss and threw in the DC Premier Batman and Clayface 2-pack. I was already planning to get that set so I may as well bundle them together. I know the King Hiss could be better especially bare legs and missing accessories for his human form, but it's nothing I can't fix or stomach when I really like how they did the snake form. Also being able to do pic-rel is something that I always wanted to do especially now that they gave him bigger snake heads.
>>11891398That’s ass bro. Should’ve just waited for mondo.
>>11891400If Mondo does the 200X design in 1/12 like everyone so far then sure. King Hiss is the one character I'm willing to throw money for if I like the figure enough anyway. As for the Chronicles, I just wanted a King Hiss to display with my movie figures and it being a unique amalgam design works out for me.
>>11891285>>11891292NTA but He-Trollan is right - post the pictures when you finish. If you have one of the orange Faker swords, try that or if you have spare swords, try a gundam type marker to color it over, either in red to match the top, or orange, for the hat (which is why I suggested the Faker sword), or even that turquoise or similar blue, to match the body flesh tones.
>>11891221Are you retarded? I asked "when" not "if" stupid mother fucker mongoloid
>>11891566You do understand that Skeletor's take over of the planet will be complete next year?So there's no point in worrying about "when" - especially for something that doesn't even have a production start date, m'kay?
Why there are fags like: >>11891002 shilling that movie over the whole board?
>>11891566Holy shit, fuck off you ratfuck psycho
Report all off topic post and move on.
>>11891279Oh yeah that'd probably do it.I've actually been meaning to make a softgoods scarf to use with the original Orko since the plastic scarf on him is attached to the body and not the head.
>>11890610I really like the look of these, but what actual scale are they? Is it just me or is Mondo "1/12" like Storm Collectibles "1/12" where everything is actually a lot bigger.Classics was already too big being a 7 inch line, and Mondo seems bigger still. Surely no way you can mix these with any existing motu lines?
Speaking of MOTU and Looney Tunes, think Mattel will do a collab given they and WB are buddy-buddy again?Would it be Yosemite Sam or Wile as Man-At-Arms?
>>11891862>I really like the look of these, but what actual scale are they? Is it just me or is Mondo "1/12" like Storm Collectibles "1/12" where everything is actually a lot bigger.More or less. What was he-Man 200X canonically, 6'5"?Anyway, "1:12" has basically become the action figure nomenclature equivalent of "Nazi".
>>11891862>>11891874It's meaningless, S.H. Figuarts and Marvel Legends are also supposedly both 1/12 and since they often make the same exact character that would make you think they would share sizes, but often S.H. is smaller.
>>118918626.5 inch line with varying heights. Heman is bigger than a six inch figure because he’s heman. Man at arms is at the 6.5 inch mark because he’s a regular human.
>>11891874I'm kind of a scalefag, so I appreciate it when companies like bandai for example go to the source heights and apply an exact 1:12 conversion, so your typical 6 ft character get a 152cm figure.>What was he-Man 200X canonically, 6'5"Yeah, which actually makes the classics accurate to that run since he's canonically the same height as Jotaro. The Mondo seems a bit elongated and would have benefitted from shorter arms, legs and torso.
Hit the loose ultimates head i got with this he-man with a matte coat. Why did super 7 make their he-man so shiny?
>>11891890>The Mondo seems a bit elongated and would have benefitted from shorter arms, legs and torso
>>11891868I think given that Mattel was willing to work with Hasbro to do Transformer's and the Turtle's of Greyskull, that something should happen. I'm not sure it will be Looney Tunes, sadly. But I would expect more collabs.
>>11891890>seems a bit elongatedBeing honest, that's what appeals to me with Masterverse and the 2026 movie Chronicles. The proportions feels and look 'human,' not like the classic or sketchbook lines. The 200x I have bought has also been largely those proportions, but I'm one of the new comers to the ip. I try to watch one of the Tubi episodes when I am eating by myself.

>>11891948Thanks, I don't pay for Prime, except for in December for gift giving. It's pretty easy to find pirate stream sites, Tubi is just convenient since I have the ads blocked. I did almost all of the new Tales of Eternia that way.
>>11891888They look the same height to me, f there's a difference, it's very minimal.
Thanks for all the responses. I guess it is a slightly bigger scale closer to master else then. I guess ill wait our to see if we get smaller figures. Also did that anon get snake mountain? Mine has been lost in the post and I just got refunded.

Well, I am glad I know where the Mattel store is and I will certainly check if out when I have an appointment with my Sports Medicine specialist but it was disappointing. They had minimal MOTU stuff and while they did have a dino I liked, the no returns and being within a buck of the Bezolandia price made me walk out there empty-handed. Even the DC wave 2 core figure I was hoping to find in hand wasn't actually on their shelf. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite, I overheard an entire detailed conversation between an employee and a hot wheel collector and was left pretty impressed. I wouldn't mind doing a tour like the one Nicholas gave for the movie featurette, if those are open to the public??? - but didn't have the time today. Anyone know is those are public tours?
Still cant find the fucking chronicles scareglow anywhere save for ebay. I give up, interest is lost at this point.
>>11891998>>11891999>>11892000Well shit you're right, I didn't see those pics for some reason, I'm retarded.

>>11891919>Why did super 7 make their he-man so shiny?Literally every Super7 toy is too shiny. It was a big complaint during their TMNT run.
>>11892099>I think for this set He-man looks betterSame. I kinda wish they preserved the more sloped back helmet of the original 4H sculpt where it trails off into a tiny nub like the tip of a flame. The flame motif on the helmet having an asymmetric shape also felt more unique.
>>11892188
>>11892139My $16+ free shipped Chronicles BattleCat showed up last night, off ebay. Still a few available, as of today. And some other NIB Masterverse showed up over the past few days, and my MV auction wins should be expected in today's mail.
After a couple hours of having skeletor I’ve got two complaints. One of the chest straps is loose and keeps coming undone. Not sure how to fix that. All the hands are incredibly loose especially if you try having him hold anything. I don’t understand what the fuck they were thinking when they designed those pegs and the holes they are somehow supposed to slide into. I’m going to try to heat the wrists and pinch them slightly to make the holes tighter. Word of warning the bottom of the havoc staff is sharp as fuck and will pierce your skin.
>>11892188>>11892190At least they fixed the torso armor, but at that price is expected.
Heating and pinching fixed the fuck ass wrists. 9.5/10 figure
Could work good on chronicles skeletor
>>11892254>One of the chest straps is loose and keeps coming undone.I haven't experienced this firsthand myself, but apparently MONDO's customer service is great, I don't know if great enough where they would replace the armor, but maybe worth a try.
>>11892001I'd really like to get ice armor he-man but 200x has way too many variants for these prices, I'm going to have to skip it to keep myself to just the main looks>>11892027so much of the detail is lost with this color scheme, they probably should have done the armor in two tones of gold or something

anyone gotten ahold of the new big figs optimus prime? it's supposed to be good for 1/12 stuff so he-man should look great on prime's shoulder
>>11893254It isnt quite original concepts, but where the non movie line is going is basically what NE was, and especially where it was going. The original concepts idea mostly fizzled into new ideas, and all the upcoming designs definitely invoke a similar spirit.
>>11893271I’m going hunting Monday
>>11893274I'd like more Masterverse to have 7 inch figures. If the Skeletor and other non-He-Man figures or variants (hell, even Faker) were 6.5" and those He-Man and expies were the only 7" we might have something - but that's not what Mattel chose.
>>11893289Ok if you meant the literal Masterverse NE line, then ya, out of luck. I like the new size, but I was also ok with Masterverse size. What a I really like is the new articulation scheme, and I hope they continue to improve it. I'm sure they made this switch so that their DC figures and MOTU will look good together, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see some crossovers/2-packs again in the future. While the old 2-packs were fun, the MOTUC figures being so much bigger than the DCUC, along with a completely different style of figure made them not fit in together quite right. I did like the charm of just 'bashing' two different worlds/figures together though.
>>11893291>What a I really like is the new articulation schemeGood point. I do like that in the core MOTU I have purchased and the one Chronicles figure I grabbed. If I am averaging about $10-$13 a figure (and the New Eternia Anti-Eternia He-Man, right now, is the most expensive at about $22 by himself) even for NE and MV, I can deal with limitations for other things.
>>11893291Also, to clarify, I'm not >>11893249, and I have mostly bought the dark blue bordered MV figures but I am okay with the few NE Masterverse I have picked up, like the blue Faker, even if he's a tad shorter, but like I said, if Actual He-Man is 7" and the rest are slightly shorter, I can work with them but if you did a comparison like this >>11892939, the bucks would be far more dissimilar.I do agree that mixing and matching isn't and shouldn't be a problem.
Anyone with Core Goat Man can show me how well he blends with Origins Evil Warriors?
>>11893039I think they just designed him with the reuse already accounted for, mainly with movie He-Man's bare legs. It's a shame but it is what it is.>>11893249Yep. Though it's not as skinny as it originally seemed it still definitely needs some scales so I might just sculpt on top of mine when it arrives or find some scaly thigh armor and color match it.
>>11893417
>>11893417>>11893452it's a shame he's trapped in that four-packthat's another thing I had hoped to maybe see at the mattel toy store at a fair price but they barely had any movie stuff, literally just one cap
>>11893438>I think they just designed him with the reuse already accounted for, mainly with movie He-Man's bare legs. It's a shame but it is what it is.I guess so, but it just feels pointless. You have an MC exclusive, if you want to do re-use for whatever reason then make another character that it works for, like He-Ro, following KG. If you're going to do Hiss, make new lower legs, new torso, new head, new arms, new 'effect' arms, new snake head, new armor, and new 'loin cloth', at that point you must as well go all the way with new legs, especially ones that you could surely use again for more Snake-men. Just seems an odd choice. And so weird that he has his staff and shield in the artwork but not the toy.

So the metallic alloy swords that were about 28 for $10 from Amazon, see>>11884151 are these. One (far right, WWII Steve) is way too fucking sterling silver to use but I am going to try some Gundam markers and a matte spray eventually.
I have a lot of Masterverse that arrived in the mail that I am also unboxing but got to this cap lot first, I think some of these bigger swords would work well with MV and Chronicles but I will do some photos eventually.
>>11893592That's fucking awesome, thank you anonMaybe I will try for a winter diorama
>>11893557It's only about 1/12 but the clearance stores are flooded with them for about $7.99. You can still order if from the usual e-commerce sites. There's also a fat polar bear from a GI Joe Classified animal 2PK that is sold loose on eBay.
>>11893605>>11893608They look good to me. Ordered that set and one with more fantasy looking blades
I’m tapping out of everything Mattel except Motu core and dc core. Mondo has ruined my tolerance for overpriced domestic figures. I have seen the light.
>>11893632The best is selling right now for more than 50% of this price but I know I have seen it go in auctions for less.
>>11893648Gee Billy that heman sure doesn’t look like the solicitation
>>11889994I got him marked down as well, swapped his cape w/cartoon collection skels.
Mattel has not figured out how to make the smooth joints. They are either too tight or too loose. Despite the articulation handling chronicles heman is not fun. Their core line and origins are better.
>>11893645Just tried painting three of the blades with metallic KO Gundam type markers. Looks good so far, likely needs multiple passes. Will offer some more pictures soon. Trying various shades of blue to start with.
>>11893099I feel like we shouldve gotten masterverse instead
>>11893840I've got 3, all 3 are tight. Some things could definitely be improved but I find them a lot of fun to handle. I personally find Origins fun to play with, but boring to handle.
>>11893099I always thought the fuller proportions of the Mondo figures took a lot of inspiration from the 200X Image Comics whereas Mattel's line is obviously modeled after the actual cartoon art albeit with simplified paint apps and sculpt. Unfortunately I don't think any company will ever be able to replicate the exact look of the original 4H sculpts.
>>11893915That Mossman is nightmare inducing.
>>11893840I only have two Chronicles, both He-Man, both possibly from different production runs. I took one apart but the other has been fine, articulation wise. My main complaints are minor, and generally aesthetic or cosmetic, and some, possibly most, repeat the concerns seemingly voiced by others. For example, the loin cloth not being strips as in the movie (but an easy fix with a clean, sharp x-acto knife). The hair on the toy. The gap at the waist.
>>11893648Did the same but with the Prince Adam head.
>>11893996Although the front part are meant to be separated strips, the movie loin cloth actually has a second layer of three overlapping cloth pieces underneath to give it a uniform look. If Mattel were to do it as literally as it was in the movie it should've come in two separate layers on top of each other. As it is, the way they molded it as a single piece isn't inaccurate to the design.Although the people modding the loin cloths on their He-Man are getting more articulation, it also makes the figure less accurate to the actual design cut in between every single strip. At best you can cut a line on each side of the three front strips while leaving the individual strips untouched if you want the extra articulation while still being moderately accurate to the design.
>>11894005*if you cut in between every single strip
>>11893099I think this is a fair point on MONDO, I don't know if they have ever flat out stated their intentions with these figures, but I get the feeling is definitively 200x inspired, but they still inject their MONDO style to it. You are right though, they don't really look like the toys or the cartoon, but I'm honestly ok with it because the end result still looks really good.Like >>11893915 said, Mattel is going for the cartoon look specifically, but they work in the origins constraints and simplified things a lot, to the point it looks off.
>>11894005>on their He-Man are getting more articulationThat's why I would attempt these modsBut I'm also someone who would care about appearance
>>11894011>and?
Going to finish out the movie figures for core then I’m done until the build a figure waves go up. The majority of my collecting budget will be going to mondo for the foreseeable future. Chronicles just aren’t their yet.
>>11893644 What's this fella's name?
>>11894525Slob-or, the drooling retard of the frozen wastes.
With 200X making some characters bigger like Beast Man, Ram Man, Clawful, Roboto, Whiplash and sigh,Man-E-Faces apparently, which motu characters do you think should be redesigned to be larger? Would you want Massive Moss Man or Beefy Buzz-Off?
>>11894525He was actually written out of the movie, so technically really has no name. There isn't even a deleted scene, just footage of Krypto attacking yetis near the Fortress.
Is the origins fright zone any good? Worth getting?
>>11894567That's no way to talk about a child.
so has the cartoon collection really been abandoned before they gave us glimmer??
>>11894616I don’t understand what you’re asking because moss man and buzzoff are both out already. Moss man being taller would’ve been nice but there’s so much original tooling in the line I understand the choices they’ve made when it comes to reuse.
Did some reflecting and I think I’m only going to get six mondos total. That’s where I feel comfortable and won’t feel guilty about it financially. >He-man>Man at arms>Teela>Skeletor>Evil Lyn>TriklopsMondo is my first “adult collectible” so I’m not used to needing to keep a figure away from my kids. Defeats the point of an action figure. This is another reason I’m limiting my purchases.
>>11894754>TriklopsBased. I have high hopes since the 1/6 is so fucking rad. Hope they do the same lower face swap thing for the 1/12
>>11894693Yeah, and characters are already designed because cartoon aired ages ago so we know that e.g. Hordak isn't huge but Lashor is.I meant, generally speaking, next time Mattel redesigns those characters for movie or Chronicles or something, do you think someone should be bulked up. They already make Horde Trooper, Moss Man and Snout Spout bigger in New Eternia.

My New Eternia Orko two pack arrived but I think I am going to return it and grab one of the Orko's on BBTS. I thought I would want it because I like some variants, but this just feels like an unnecessary repaint, one of Todd McFarlane's crappy jokerized plastic fetish figures, or am I missing something?I also have no connection to Gwildor or that movie, other than wanting that Evil-Lyn version just because it looks cool and different. But I also found some other 'goblin' dwarf like figures I like the look of better than Gwildor.
>>11896137if you don't like it then you don't like it, send 'em back
Huh, a bunch of mattel creations figures are up on bbts, no exclusives that I can tell but yeah man, weird. The prices are higher than buying direct from mattel but I guess this might be helpful to anons outside of North America
>>11896327It's time.
Stole this from FB for scale
>>11896759Based thanks anon
>>11896161Yeah, I think I will, they are giving me thirty 30 days to return it. But the next time I have to go to Fed Ex, I'll likely do it then.~Meanwhile, my Anti-Eternia He-Man arrived, but I've been too busy/lazy to open the box. I wish he was cheaper but I guess I can't complain when he's fairly unique.>OBV NOT MY PICTURE
>>11896872he spooky
Fucking $60+usd for shipping on the stupid fire and ice 2-pack. This is why I refuse to fully go all-in on this line. I just have the lobster, and he's great, but the figures are not worth these prices to me when the action figure competition is so stiff out there.
>>11896987Yep.I now wish he was on deep clearance and discounted, because I would love some extra heads. Instead, the best price I found was an Amazon Resale and that was still $20. It's not even a repaint of that metallic bald Faker head but has some slight differences. It's a shame the box didn't come with extra heads but what can you do.
>>11896509I'm sticking with my cartoon collection. It reminds me more of the comics.
>>11897136What country anon?
Timed editions of clawful and heman have been popping up in stock off and on on mondo the past few hours. They’re gone atm but I’d keep an eye out if you want them.
>>11897253Interesting. Can you actually cancel pre-orders with them? I've got the standard edition po'd, but I'd grab the Timed if I could.
OH SHIT
>>11897261No idea Ive only ever purchased skeletor when he was in stock
>>11897251Your Northern neighbour. If it was at least Duties Paid (like most companies do for their shipping nowadays, like Hasbro, Mattel, BBTS, etc) we'd at least not get another probably 60-100 at the door.
>>11897261I asked to cancel an order on one of the ghostbuster single packs in order to buy the 2-pack, and their customer support didn't seem to mind at all, but it does say all orders are final so your mileage may vary.
>>11897319Good to know, thanks. Likely a moot point, anyway, since I'd have to catch the fucker in-stock, anyway.
>>11897261>>11897319I don't have experience with Mondo specifically but I have swapped pre-orders, as the Anon example, and it sounds like you're wanting to attempt. So I think if it hasn't shipped or gotten into that area, since you're not CANCELLING, simply swapping one for another, they should be fine.I would even inquire that if they have timed stock they keep listing, can they just swap you?At worse, they will say "nope."
>missed the two pack preorder period AND the timed edition drops from todayFuck, I thought it'd be later. Was too busy teaching my nephew about 2001. I'll check to see if I luck out tomorrow
>>11897558Aren't they offering to notify people of availability?
>>11897576I had my alerts on but didn't get an email, probably a silent drop or something. I rechecked it to make sure. A part of me is easily willing to just get the non timed version but I want those stands
>>11897588Bases I mean, typing much too late
>>11897558This is why you drop family completely
They literally free shipped this to me via FedEx and unlike other sellers, they also pay for the returns so they are truly free. And while the Panther I got from Ross was $9.99, I don't see the point in trying to save another $5-7 and having to wait. The Target clearance storefront on eBay still has plenty of these for $16.99 and if you simply watch it, they might send you an offer. Although those offers get sent to everyone watching, they aren't specific to YOU, so be prepared to jump on it. I lost out on a kaiju I wanted that way.
Some "new" Masterverse stuff arrived, I wanted this mostly for the extra head so was happy to get a boxed one for under $8, plus I got the NECA Flash Defender of the Universe I have had on my BBTS wishlist and another NIB Classified, and the combined shipping made the whole purchase even cheaper than Amazon or someplace else And yes, I know pictures of boxed figures aren't fun, but I really need to clean and organize FIRST. Sorry!!!>>11897717On the floor?>>11897588That sucks
I wish the core head would peg better on a Legends. Oh well, that's why I ordered the 200x.
>>11897829For awhile I was putting that lyn head on every female masterverse figure I got
>>11897829Nice! I kept passing on this one, I never even noticed it came with another head.
>>11897904That and just to have a female body, I figured it was worth the $7 or so. It made the entire order affordable and I have been eyeing that Defenders of the Earth Flash Gordon, with his sword, since I missed getting him on a Black Friday deal. BBTS had him at the best price but still almost $19+ and this one, even with sales tax and postage apportion, NIB, was still less. >>11897935BBTS has it on clearance. This was just cheaper with combined shipping. Amazon has it but even without free shipping, assuming you are adding to a pile of loot shipment, BBTS still works out to s better price.
>>11897904I just sold the 200x Shadow Weaver mint on card because I would like to get this one. I'm hoping one day, I will walk into the Mattel toy store and they will have it....
>>11897951One day you’ll walk in and I’ll be waiting for you.
>>11897976I'll be sure to bring extra coffee with me on every run.

>>11897266So MOTUfest just isn't something that generates a lot of news the weekend it happens?
So based on some Brit YT reviewer, it looks like I need to disabuse myself of the expectations that his shoulder armor and the face mask would come off? Did anyone ever attempt this?I expect the hands, gauntlets to come off but the reviewer didn't do so, and that harness looks like heavy molded plastic and all one piece? Should I pass on this if I cannot customize much of it and have no interest in TF? I thought the bottom legs and sword would be cool but if I can't even use the head ...
>>11898200As I recall, no the shoulders dont come off. They do from Skele-Tron but arm doesn't look right without them - it has a flattened spot with a hole.As for the mask, just look at the in package shot.
>>11898166Biggest piece of news I gathered is merman preorder soon
>>11898200They are glued on. The shoulders are glued in by peg, iirc. The helmet might be attached to the hair, I didn't try to remove it at that point
Wave 2 of The Champions of Nefarity from Mad Hatter.
>>11898346
>>11898348
>>11898350
>>11898216>>11898301Thank you.Yeah, I found in another video that the mask doesn't come off. $17 isn't cheap enough just for two legs and a neat sword, so I'll set aside until I see it cheaper, maybe loose.>>11898350Shield looks nice. His harness immediately made me think of the Walmart logo!
>>11898350>Nig-OrDidn’t know hatter was a chud. Maybe not all Jews are bad.
>>11898346>>11898348>>11898350>>11898353I am questioning why anyone would think that there is demand and actually try to make this stuff, seems a bit retarded.
>>11898408Because people are buying it. They’re made to order and only go into production after a certain threshold is reached.
>>11898346I'm really hoping Ace didn't talk Hatter into going overboard here. The main issue with Wave 1 was repetition at a high cost. Boutique, yes, but the line was very samey at a cost that wasn't supporting the silly idea.Flip-or with function is $50. Dummy bots which not even sure they flipped with function were like $45. Flip-or got Target, but then suddenly if you want Walmart you HAVE to buy the Fake-or version who also got matching Flipbots. Meanwhile the robot Cats were like $10 a pop and everybody loved that.So right now I love what Wave 2 looks like, but at the same time I'm not in the mood for $50+ a pop figures with or without gimmick. Even higher for the Hound of Target because he's 8" tall.
>>11898410>that's what I said!!!
>>11893557Only kind if related but this guy is getting a 5.5" toy from Frazetta Girls and I'm getting him to go with Frosta.
>>11898346>>11898348>>11898350>>11898353Still not MOTU Hatter, please start your own thread to shill your shit.>I am questioning why anyone would think that there is demand and actually try to make this stuff, seems a bit retarded.Same, with so much Origins MOTU these days not to mention the retro style lines from Formo Toys, Frazetta Girls, and Boss Fight I don't know why anyone would want this. It must be a way for his subscribers to support him and show their appreciation?
I'm wanting someone to post pictures of this. A browser search didn't pop up any 'in hand' con images but ever since x-shitter redid all their code, it doesn't really properly index or get captured
>>11898356>His harness immediately made me think of the Walmart logo!Yeah that's the point, the entire line is a satirical take on toy collecting, like hunting down for toys in Walmart and Target. The main character is a toy flipper, the Zombie dude is supposed to be a delivery man who fucks up your packages, the Dog figure is supposed to be Targets mascot Bullseye, the hot chick is a villian representing Ebay called Evil- Bae, etc.
>>11898408The first Kickstarter was a massive success so there is definitely demand for this, it's trying to lighten up and make fun of this ridiculous 'hobby' that we all do of grown men collecting toys. So cheer up you miserable cunt.
>>11898626We get it hatter, you're le quirkchungus.Still not motu related other than you aped the classic motu design.
>>11898593This guy did, but for whatever reason he focused mostly on articulation.
>>11898669This is basically the most normal pic he took.
>>11898669>>11898670Thank you! That one 'articulation' pose is unfortunate and the way the piece sticks out makes you think, why should I spend $100+ on this toy?
>>11898693I love the figures, but I won't defend the price, it's insane. I was watching an old Pixel Dan video where he speculated the price would be around $60.00 and even then he felt it was on the high side, lol.
>>11896161>>11896137They actually gave me until October to return it but since I got the boxed Savage He-Man for his gear, I don't see the point of having two.Especially since I expect Mattel will release another in the next 12-24 months that will cost me less than $24.99.I'm looking at dragons and I would rather put $24 towards a big one than anything else.
>>11898623I don't need or want plastic crap for what's essentially a meme line. I could buy mister beast crap or the skibi toilet I'm new to the franchise and this gen, so if these toys were at MOTUfest, I don't personally care about a few posts here, but apparently some do.
>bitch dat my heman
>>11898708At 60 I'd probably be willing to go all in, even with the bs shipping. As is, VERY selective.
>tfw you find mossmans stash
>>11898623These are genuinely fucking lame.
Talking about mondo pricing would you guys buy deluxe origins from them? Pretty much doing exactly what they are in 1/12 but 5.5>real fur>swappable hands and faces>multiple accessories >amazing paint
>>11898972If the price was right, yeah, I might pick up one or two.
>>11898972They’d need look like high end interpretations of the original toys but yes like >>11898974 said. Highest I’d go personally is $50. They’d need to look god tier tho.
>>11898972Absolutely if it was their 1/6 line just scaled down into that form factor
Like this
>>11899021Fuck. I’d buy the main guys all over again and use origins for army building. I need someone to email mondo with this idea.
>>11898960adorable>>11899021oh hell yeah I'd pick up a skeletor like this
>>11899021>>11899015>hate Triklops >see these>Triklops is now my favorite evil warrior Can’t deny the drip
>>11899021Mattel would never okay this
>>11898623>A Scalper vs Target and Wal-Mart ManWhy would anyone want to spend money on these memetard figures when there are already too many great vintage and modern lines to collect or make space for?
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckDCPMYOzAkThoughts? I'm seeing a lot of people in the comments complaining how Masterverse is done and dusted in favor of Chronicles, but I always felt like Masterverse struggled to find its footing, torn between being based on the shitty Netflix cartoon while living in the shadow of Classics trying to chase that high. I do feel as if Chronicles is how it should've been done from the start, fitting in with modern 1/12 figures and if that's not enough for some, there's always Mondo.
>>11898956>>11898960I like the 'flight' stand.
>>11899182>Pixel Dan
>>11899199Dan is the one toytuber that isn’t a faggot
>>11898216>>11898301So I found it on ebay, at the Target clearance site, for $15, "watched" and got sent an offer for $12, which is a fair price (especially with free shipping) for the parts I can definitely customize with. >shoulder glued by pegThat really sucks, you are right about the hair, I found a third video, but I have plenty of extra heads, so that doesn't bother me as much except I wanted the classic looking head, not the MV head, which is the one I have spares.I really do like the white pants. Are their any other 200x figures that are not bare (flesh tone) skin for the legs, but aren't the 200x Prince Adams grayish blue version?
Since I personally don't want one, I keep forgetting to post that this is also free shipping and available at this price off eBay
>>11899349I already have 2, they're fun.
>>11899349sheesh, too bad I don't want these.
>>11898972I’d probably pass if they looked like this >>11899021, I just don’t really think the 5.5 proportions go well with high detail, it’s like souping up a hooptie. I would rather have the 1/6 just shrunken down.
>>11899021For as cool as Chronicles and Masterverse are that mock up is more or less what I was hoping origins would be by now.
>>11899543This. There’s no reason Mattel can’t give use something like this. It’s just better painted armor.
>>11899182Chronicles is the right move with DC coming in. Updated articulation was also pretty desperately needed. With Chronicles Mattel now has a pretty top notch premium feeling line at that regular "collector" price point. Masterverse were ok, but felt like a figure from 2018 or something, like a few notches above return of marvel legends, or like their WWE Elite figures. With them they now have true modern action figures, and I'm sure DC will follow suit similarly. With the actual direction of the line, I personally like these weird takes. Dan isnt wrong about the direction being a bit weird, we have a "future" He-Man and Teela, a 'what if' Clawful, and a pre Evil Warriors Merman, quite a weird assortment with no real coherence. From the looks at the concept art MAA and Buzz-Off follow the Heroic Warriors, so who knows what happens with the EW. I do like everything I'm seeing so far though, to me it's new and exciting, but I can see someone wanting new versions of their favorite classic looks in this scale and articulation scheme. Honestly, it's only a matter of time, like it always is. We'll get classic versions eventually. I'd like to think theyll continue to let the line evolve, whether via improved articulation, wired cloth, and whatever else to make them better.
>>11899563>Mattel now has a pretty top notch premium feeling lineAll the chronicles figures I have feel like shit. Joints are either too tight or too loose. They look good but handle terribly.
>>11899563>quite a weird assortment with no real coherenceWhens and where’s was their official statement about the line.
>>11899369If it wasn't so big, I might go for one. When they release that vehicle with the He-Man, I might get that although I mostly just want the variant figure.>>11899577I keep seeing one or a few people post this, mostly here but not elsewhere, and I know a lot of people generally favor the origins line, but if we did a poll, is this really a majority view?
>>11899638>I keep seeing one or a few people post this, mostly here but not elsewhere, and I know a lot of people generally favor the origins line, but if we did a poll, is this really a majority view?I've gotten 3, KG, movie He-Man and Skeletor. All have moved fluidly out of the box, are still tight (not overly so) for the most part (only Skeletor's left leg began to wobble a bit at the hip, but after some floor polish he's good). Oh I also have Gym Bro Skeletor but I still have yet to open him. I'll check him out soon. So from my experience they're honestly great. Weapons also fit nicely in their hands. I hate loose weapons. My only real gripe is range of articulation on some of the joints, but that feels like nitpicking. With some adjustments they'd be even better (like the way the shoulder integrates with the body, and they're better off doing a ball into the torso rather than classic butterfly joints, and the joint setup on the torso is good but they need to increase the size of the balls and the way it's cut to allow for greater range. some adjustment to the hips to allow for more thigh rotation would be good too).
>>11899577Only one I've got is Skeletor, the neck is definitely a little tight.
Saw this on Instagram, I'd post a link but they make me have to download the app and I do not want the app.
>>11899692Just piecemeal it
>>11899577I think they certainly feel better in hand than masterverse but I really don't think they feel premium either, I have to question what higher end toys people saying this have ever owned
>>11899750I'd argue what does premium feel like anymore? Figuarts? Figma? Inart? Storm? Revoltech? Even among these there are usually a range on how they feel. Some SHF feel great while others feel practically hollow, Storm have a solid rubbery feel, but that isnt for everyone, Figma has to be one of the most consistent, but even they have junk sometimes, and I've only handled one Inart figure and it wasn't nearly as good as I hoped. Let's also acknowledge that we're talking about a sub $30 figure vs $50+, sometimes $100+. Most people are probably thinking the smooth articulation, but the figures also have solid paint and a good feel to them.A more fair comparison would be between Chronicles, Jada, Hasbro, and among those 3 the first 2 are far ahead in the "feel" department, at least i think so. Jada will presumably be better than their current offerings once they move to their new articulation scheme, but seemed like Invincible may have had some issues, so they hopefully get that sorted, just like Mattel has some issues with Chronicles.
>>11899750>premium>higher endI think it depends on what you want from your action figures.Look at the display threads - most people just have shelf after shelf crowded and stuffed in with figures.
>>11899775>Chronicles, Jada, Hasbr>>11899820I'm not familiar enough with Jada to offer an intelligent comment, but again, what are we after - this? As some with a BFA minor, who never pursued a creative career, I still prize aesthetics in many things. And admittedly, those are very personal judgments - and no one should Pick As I Would Select or vice versa, as far as what is high end - but to me, the look of the overall figure is part of the decision, not purely the ab crunch or butterfly joint, etc.
>>11899546It would justify the higher pricepoint on origins too. If you're going to charge me more atleast make it worth my while.
>>11898346I know this is a youtube thing but I'm baffled they didnt think to license a competitor brand alongside all this. Fuerza T, Turly Gang, Combo, etc were all there for the taking.
>>11899862>Fuerza TI still don't understand why Matty doesn't make these easy remixes for extra profit.
>>11899750I got mondo skeletor two weeks ago now and my opinion of chronicles plummeted
>>11899862If I had the means to make my own toyline it wouldn't be fucking memes for my channel it would be actual fantasy shit. Yes I'm jealous of this dude.
>>11899885I would hope something you spend at least 3x as much for is better. I mean, do you really want to pay $45 for prime rib at Ruth Criss if it tastes the same as a $4.59 cheeseburger from Mickey D's?
>>11899874Probably because they would need to get permission to use them and they're just not worth a hassle. It's common for company not do something fans want if it requires any paperwork to allow it but just doesn't promises great profit.MOTU is a huge IP with plenty of characters that Mattel actually owns that are easy money. Why would they try to get right to something with much more niche appeal?
>>11900240>MOTU is a huge IP with plenty of charactersExcept everyone whines and complains when new characeters get made into a figure.
>>11900240They don't need to license KO foreign rip-offs of their own products. They just do their own version. Defenders of the Earth is probably already copyrighted or trademark in NA, if not by NECA, by King Features, but they can use the Spanish for "Defenders of the Planet" and use similar coloring and naming schemes.
>>11900313I remember Axel said back when he snuck them on the box art, to Mattel legal it was Clawful with the Havoc Staff, Mer Man with the Power Sword, Fisto with different color hair and an axe, etc. They have all the parts, it also might have to do with the lawsuit from back in the day too.
So you guys buy weird unrelated stuff for your MotU figures? I'm waiting on this because I think it might fit core class figures. Sadly I missed out on transparent skeletor for it
Also planning to buy the 1/12 Mechatro for Core Mekanek because his head should be able to pop out of this. Posting stock images because mail is slow and I'm wondering what else anyone has
also reverse Motu stuff with other stuff is cool. not my pic. I wish vehicles sold well enough so we could get more.
>>11899775I used to buy figmas all the time, I stopped because they're fragile and overpriced and god forbid you need a replacement joint for anything non-standard
>>11900240>Why would they try to get right to something with much more niche appeal?Because I'd really like to buy the set off them mostly. I know it's a pipedream but dammit I want it.>>11899899I agree. That was the cause of my confusion. Does anyone really want ersatz brand mascots for walmart and target? All the MOTU bootlegs we got over the years and that was the best they could do?
>>11900473>>11900476I used to do so more often. Been too busy with life to scout out potential contenders. I remember many anons getting mileage out of those mcfarlane death metal batman bikes years back.
Found MV Merman, MV Yellow Evil Lyn, the new MotU WWE and Fright Zone ring, along with Superstars Demolition plus Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Expensive day. Just gotta find MV Wundar
>>11900507Oh these look sick. I hope Mattel gives us Warlord toys on the Origin body eventually
I am sparing you all from sealed boxes today. I picked up a Hordak at Ross because I found one for $7.99, and I finally opened my NE/AE H-M, and also got a kitbash figure with spare heads from eBay. This represents $37 worth of expenditures, plus sales tax. Sadly, the kitbash gives me 6 heads but only the faker sword and axe - and I had to ask the seller if he had any stuff.I already had all that with the actual Revelation Faker on the proper robot body.>>11900473>>11900476I don't see why not? I used to be very Comic Book Accurate but I still have those figures and a place for them, but I have always loved elseworlds, parallel universe and SU variants. So the more 'interesting' stuff is going to have its own space as well.
>>11900552The Fright Zone rings are on clearance at the Targets that still have them, besides the eBay deal. And Ross has them.Is the 'yellow' Evil-Lyn the Dolph movie version? I would like one of those but for less than $14/15.
>>11900580The fully melted metal Faker head is such a great head to have. If I could get 6 more, without having to buy a full set of anything, I would. There's more basic bitch poses here:>>11900573>>11900574>>11900575
>>11899655>>11899646I really only got, as far as new stuff, mostly Core, and almost all of that was MANY movie He-Man's. And I like everything about them, including the price point, except I wish the legs articulated more. The Chronicles are not necessarily twice as worthwhile given the price is MORE than twice the amount, but I don't regret them. Then again, I am intrntionslly ignoring the Origins lines.Because I am getting MV after the fact and they are large, have been excessively inexpensive, come with so many accessories, I'm not someone who's going to complain that I can't get them to do high kicks and splits.
>>11900481It's nuts that we got as much as we did considering how harsh the modern toy market's become. I'm surprised we dont see more 6 inch collectors jumping on those origin vehicles just for how affordable they are. Stridor fits right in with black series, the collector and talon fighter work well enough with capeshit, and the cats dont look that out of place besides classified.
>>11900555I hope they do. The opportunity for another DC collab is right there for the taking. But it's mattel we're talking about. It would surprise me if they dont have anything planned for the 87 movie next year. As for the bike, alot of mcfarlane stuff did well with Motu guys. There was an avatar tla rhino toy I saw a few collectors pick up exclusively to pair with their motu guys.
>>11891975Plot twist. My refunded snake mountain just arrived 2 weeks later :)I guess I got it for free. RESULT!I also scored an origins King Hiss at retail. It's been a good week!

>>11897904Does her head peg on say this Despera? I will probably still get this when my pre-orders arrive and my pile of loot clock starts, but I might also just hold off and wait and see what gets added to their end of the year sale.
Well that escalated quickly! Love these.>>11900833Thanks>>11900870Cheers.>What's the animal on the far left that He-Man is astride?Thats Stridor. A robot horse which Man-At-Arms built.
>>11900950I got two. I wish it was as inexpensive as the Core, however. I already swapped one of the legs for the camo He-Man and I need to figure out what I can do with those legs. I have a spare camo Core and the action figure is just sitting in a box for now since I really need to get organized. I still have many things to unbox, or determine to dump/return.But I am looking forward to this year's holiday sales.
Man I hope this skin tone matches the movie
>>11901018You mean the movie core and chronicles figures, for parts swapping?I'm mostly wanting to buy him because of the gear, I really like the colors over the brown. >>11901012I wonder if the comic art on the far right of that page is Ed McGuinness or just one of the artists who aped his style once he became so hugely popular during his hey-day.
