OK I think I need a report from all of you grown up who remember your childhoods. So I realized something the>WOW children are so creativeIs a fucken lie! I base this on my own experience as a child. What children do(I speak for myself only) is that they repeat something they learned about and act it without thinking. This means that they have zero creativity.>WOW I am a pirate>WOW a cyborg>WOW a robotAll of these subjects they learned from cartoons or toys or other media(wanted to post he-man however 4chan lets me only use 1 picture). The remaining part is slamming something together like sonichu. >Robot pirates>SonichuThere only other exception is when a kid misremembers something and it it a twisted version of what they did see into something new.How was your childhood? People can say that children before 1500 where creative however I doubt it. As an adult I can be more creative since I know how tihngs work.Watch this!2 Factions based on colors. One is the faction made out of 3 pairs of powers of 2 in sRGB and the other is based on powers of 3 in sRGB. Boom! They fight inside a simulation who exhibits spherical spacial characteristics violating cartesian principles and has 6 spacial dimensions. BOOM!Whenever did a child come up with something like that!?
I disagree.
>taps sign
>>11890634So what where your childhood imagined stories?Tell them. I wait.
>>11890636I hate how chris chan's antics just gives wincest a bad name
>>11890672Can you like stop obsessing over that?
Children in general are definitely creative. But just like with adults, some are just dummies.
>>11890688>Children in general are definitely creativeDefine creative.>But just like with adultsGive examples of that. Presumably you where a child once or can remember. >You are the problemGreat give examples of things you did in your imagination as a child. I wait.
>>11890720Shut the fuck up.
>>11890605>>Robot piratesSounds awesome.>2 Factions based on colors.>One is the faction made out of 3 pairs of powers of 2 in sRGB and the other is based on powers of 3 in sRGB. Boom! They fight inside a simulation who exhibits spherical spacial characteristics violating cartesian principles and has 6 spacial dimensions. BOOM!Sounds gay and retarded.
>>11890605Modern culture simply stifles creativity and doesn't let it properly manifest. You have, IMO, two ways to be creative, play and remixing. For play, you need to be spontaneous and not be burdened by a lack of skill or excessive attachment to an external version of an element to be used in play. For remixing you need experience consuming media and knowledge, so kids often don't remix stuff, they just cobble it together.Kids would usually excel on play, but toys come with lore, bios, canon, and other garbage that gets in the way, and that's been the status quo for decades. It's why Xevoz died so fast while GI Joe was revived in a 6 inch collectors line.Kids now don't play to explore because media made to sell toys open with teaching them why they should care about the toys, how the toys should behave, how strong each toy should be, and so on. You get one kid who is soaked in this crap and he'll start shit like "he can't fly, you can't make him fly", "just because he has a visor doesn't mean he has laser vision", "he's a hero, he would never do that", or "that's not his weapon"; so kids become brand ambassadors rather than owning what they do with their toys. And that's without counting kids getting earlier and earlier into media tied to toys. If your frame for reality is Bluey and you get Bluey toys, you'll just play Bluey fanfiction; even if you're given other things to play with, each will live in their own fanfiction sandbox. Maybe they can get beyond that and do a Spider-Bluey or make the dog into a police commissioner, but there's no "this is shadow man he's a heroic shadow titan that fights for lego city" to a symbiote Spider-Man toy.
>>11890644Mine were as you said, and I said what the reason was, not great. Maybe I was a dummy.Toylines had their time on the spotlight and rarely crossed over because I lost interest in the previous toyline and I didn't have the funds to continue updating more than two toylines. I didn't have an issue mixing Pokemon and Digimon, but Digimon were simply more capable of being independent actors than Pokemon because of their lore and design. I couldn't find any KOs for Beast Machines, so I quit Transformers for a while and ignored RID to buy more Digimon because 02 and Tamers had a couple of nice toylines. The most creative thing I recall doing was making Imperialdramon into an anti-villain leading an empire of misfit toys before I even knew what an anti-villain was, but that was mostly because I upscaled armors like crazy, was already watching the first seasons of South Park and that derailed the way I plotted my stories for a while, had Omegamon carry everyone when things got tough, and got the toy like a month before the anime had Imperialdramon. If I hadn't been so disconnected from 02, I would've likely repeated the plot of 02 without chosen children because that's what my dumb ass did with Adventure.I got a lot more creative by the time Imperialdramon was defeated and joined the main group of heroes, and I also let other previous toys to return, and I threw in some vintage Saint Seiya figures, but I was likely a little too old to be playing with toys by then. But I was also stealing my base plot from Rurouni Kenshin at the final stretch, so...
>>11890605My "creativity" when I was a kid/teen was just taking things I think are cool and adding them together. That's it. I don't think it has changed much. If anything my creativity has been eroded away as I got older. But fear of copyright violation and lawsuits has made me less keen on trying to be creative to make something up.Which sucks a lot because I had a concept I created and then found out in 2022 a Korean novelist made an isekai with the concept I used a lot on it's title totally unrelated. Is breaking free of these concerns the secret to being creative and just making what you think is cool?Like would every Isekai anime ever made with the circle city be in a vortex of lawsuits?I think children are seen as more creative because they generally aren't afraid of what people think of their makings than adults are.I mean I get that there is "cringe" stuff when one takes it too far to the point where they might be hurting themselves as being seen as a weirdo and not the good kind.I was afraid of that too when I was a kid/teen. It is probably why I didn't do much creative stuff either so I never developed creative imagination muscles if I had any.I wonder if it internet memery and cringe culture has essentially created a guideline of what is or isn't cringe or not with definitive lines not to be crossed. I know it got reduced to thing I don't like really fast. Chris Chan's sonichu is a definition of cringe not because he is just a pikachu and sonic put together and meant to be taken seriously, but more so because of the creator's immature antics.
>>11891073>Which sucks a lot because I had a concept I created and then found out in 2022 a Korean novelist made an isekai with the concept I used a lot on it's title totally unrelated.I'd go through with it anyway. It's not as if the Remonster author has sued the Tensura author for having the same concept almost 1:1.Korean webnovels also suck big sweaty balls.>I wonder if it internet memery and cringe culture has essentially created a guideline of what is or isn't cringe or not with definitive lines not to be crossed. I know it got reduced to thing I don't like really fast. It's more irony and cynicism. You aren't allowed to take anything seriously anymore, so you're either cringe (we disapprove) or based (we approve) or wholesome (we approve because you made us feel nice about ourselves), but God forbid you try being a real person on the page.
>>11890605>2 Factions based on colorsLike Tron?>They fight inside a simulation Like Tron?
>>11891084I didn't iterate myself correctly when said same concept. It was more so that he used the name for it but in Korean. That's what hurt the most. But maybe you're right I should still through with it anyways.
>>11890605I guess nobody's creative then. I used to have army men and thought the stands were surfboards, so i made them go surfing and such
How is this /toy/ related?
My friend and I made an entire massive lore and civilisation around bouncy balls and made a huge landscapes in our gardens for their drama and adventures. I guess we couldn’t afford normal toys or something lel but it avoided them having to be existing characters.Nothing created outside of a void is original though and we probably based a lot of it off our favourite shows and books, because creativity is usually based on inspiration and such. Most kids are creative even though their play is generally fanfic
>>11890605Anon, you're conflating nihil novi sub sole (There's nothing new under the sun) with "you're not creative. Taking something that already exists and turning it into something else is, quite literally, part of the definition of creativity. Making something new doesn't mean you HAVE to make something purely brand new that the universe has never once stood witness to. Things derivative of another are considered new as well so long as they're not obvious literal copies (Sonichu). And even then, that's technically creative FOR A CHILD as they morphed something pre-existing into their own form. Your example of being more creative as an adult simply because "you know how things work" isn't particularly great either. As modern day culture has proven time and time again, adults aren't exactly being creative either as they're being barebones derivative with things to the same level of Chris and Sonichu. You seem to forget that most of the good/famous stuff out there didn't just pop into an existence because somebody went "let me make something so creative it can be considered purely brand new", but rather came about as a final iteration of a long line of ideas that were more and more derivative of something else the earlier you go back through said iterations. Basically every idea already exists. Even if tomorrow an invention nobody ever saw came out the truth is that somebody else either came up with the same exactly thing or something similar but never built it, and that's what inspired the thing that ended up releasing. That or it's just an amalgamation of pre-existing ideas. Overall you're constraining what counts as creativity FAR too much.
I didnt have a lot of toys so my main villain was "The Hand". It was a "random encounter" and overpowered because it was just my hand. I wasnt proud of "The Hand" and it only made me want more toys. Also no it wasnt like Planelegs>>11892192I see potential in this being on TV like Sesame Street or some pseudo nature documentary
I drew this cat in 2004. What do we think?
>>11891767>I used to have army men and thought the stands were surfboards, so i made them go surfing and suchLOL.Cool memory. However that is totally a mistake someone unfamiliar with a figure can make. There are other conventions like some toys have dangling parts where the plastic connecting the figure is not supposed to be canon since these parts are to float in air. Strangely this is most prevalent in religious sculptures where the halos are not supposed to literally be attached to the sculpture. For another example of this in adults wait until you encounter the saying that the sword effects in demon slayer are supposed to not be canon in universe. >I guess nobody's creative thenYep I say so, since what people call creativity is basically slamming 2 things together and if they look good it is promoted. >>11892547See above. >There's nothing new under the sunThere is (what about the moon landing). Strangely it is technology who introduces real new concepts who then can be used. For example people in the 1800s have no fucken idea about computer related terminology so making a peter pan like adventure where one book/episode has a character using a exploit to give himself privilege escalations and get access to a developer spawn console is something that no one could have thought about. As for other things the idea of processing something or compiling or waiting for boot up are alien concepts to the people of the 1800s (and even normies in 1960 or 1990!) in the same way someone having a breakdown because the computer did crash or lost power before they saved all their work is alien/pure insanity to people from 1800s since for them writing was always instantaneous. >Basically every idea already exists. Even if tomorrow an invention nobody ever saw came out the truth is that somebody else either came up with the same exactly thing or something similar but never built itSee above.
>>11892787>>11892547>long as they're not obvious literal copies (Sonichu)And once again chris-chan is buck breaking all of you. The problem with sonichu is not that he is not le original the point is that he is potentially trademark and copyright violating. The name "POKEMON" is trademarked! You can not describe something to be a pokemon that is not licensed. Sonichu universe has other obvious composition problems like sonichu looks identical to yellow sonic and chris-chan sonichu looks identical to normal sonic. There are major brands who can get away with this(even point to this fact, kid flash and professor zoom) however we are talking about a badly drawn comic. >Sonichu). And even then, that's technically creative FOR A CHILD asYep and this is why I did use the picture since it is so well known and overgeneralized (instead of some random child's idea I bring up). I also like to debunk all kiwi farm fagots since they literally also archived the fact that chris-chan is actually retarded! His official medical diagnosis says he (being 18 or 17 I forget) has the literal mental capacity of a 12 year old!!! Back in the day we called that RETARDED I do not care what you call it these days liberals.2/4
>>11892788>>11891040>Xevoz >brand ambassadors rather than owning what they do with their toys. This is a interesting and valid concern however even if you go back to the 1800s or before where is the creativity?See this:>>11890810>>>Robot pirates>Sounds awesome.I rest my case. I just slammed together the idea of a pirate with the idea of a robot. Nothing more. How do you react if I say >Malerien FortingerYou have no fucken idea what these words even mean (that is not a name of a person BTW). The same way a child needs to know what a knight is or what a king is or what a wizard is or what a general is! I know brands can be polluting on kids however even back in the day I can bet you literally never get a child who makes up adventures where the platonic solids are fighting the non platonic solids. Despite these ideas existing back in the day. Children where always influenced by their parents and culture and never deviated from what they know. The only exception is data corruption meaning if they corrupt something they did hear about (bad memory) into something else. I do not believe in this mythical idea of creativity and as someone who likes to make up things I realize my process is literally 1) List things I know2) Select some things to place together3) See how this works. I also know if something is copyrighted or not, then I can see if I can make a derivative that is legally distinct in a court of lawThink Star Trek VS Galaxy Quest VS Orville. They obviously are the same thing however legally distinct. The other process is basically carving. You start with something you like like lets say star trek or GTA and then start to change things, it helps if you are one of these critical nerds>NOOO That part is stupid!(Except star wars fanboys who are all retarded)So you keep on removing or changing things in what is basically fan fiction and then you alter things to have it legally distinct and you can sell it.3/4
>>11892790>>11891040The best example are video games think Saints Row VS GTA. The concept of a generic criminal or gangster is public domain so no problems here. Saints row is a GTA copy however they did go:>What if we make GTA... however let the player pick their own character and customize them?>What if we make it fun and let you control a real gang?>What if we include stupid shit like you needing to beat people with dildos?>What if we give the player super powers? And it escalated from there.Pokemon VS Palworld is another great example. It is literally>What if we make pokemon... However we include all the edgy jokes and humor pokemon-fans where memeing all over the internet? The game is one gigantic meme! >What if we let the player kill and eat their pokemon?>What if we literally let the player make slavery farms where they work their pokemon to death?>What about pokemon animal cruelty? >What if we give the humans guns and let them kill pokemon?>What if a pokeball can capture a human? Then they needed to make it legally distinct so they didPokemon -> palAnd to this day this sounds like shit because NPCs using that word in conversations reads like you are having a stroke.>These pals are pure evilHowever the pokemon company did sue Palworld over copyright. Also Palworld changed how the pokeballs look into something that looks like pure cancer and is named a sphere or orb or something. You can not imagine how hard I weep that I can not directly port star trek ships because all of them are copyrighted and trademarked.
>>11892787>There is (what about the moon landing). Strangely it is technology who introduces real new concepts who then can be usedI think you are putting the cart before the horse. The idea of landing on the moon existed long before the technology for it existed.
>>11891048That is a very interesting story and I actually like to know more about the stories you made>I didn't have an issue mixing Pokemon and DigimonThat is interesting, not because >thou shell not mix franchisesHowever pokemon is so strange on its own and I have questions about the setup of the world itself. Can you capture digimon in pokeballs? What type are digimon? Do digimon have type weaknesses to pokemon and vice versa? And because I am not from the USA (I got the good dub of digimon)Do pokemon have digimon types Virus, Data, Vaccine? What about Digimon levels do pokemon have digimon levels?>Rookie >Champion >Ultimate >Mega==Full Break==>doing was making Imperialdramon into an anti-villain leading an empire of misfitI like you to tell this story if you remember it>without chosen children because that's what my dumb ass did with Adventure.Interesting the human question was always the biggest one in all the monster franchisesRecently I was grinding away some ideas and I wanted to know what others think I basically did have a totally different answer to the human question1) All characters are 18+ or whatever anime considered 18+ Because children are stupid and adults are cool2) The monsters are NON characters they are basically a thing that the humans summon and control like a puppet closer to jojo stand then anythingThe humans are the main characters and more like people from the first season of yu-gi-oh in their goals and personality>BEHOLD THE WINGED DRAGON OF RA!>MY DECK HAS NO PATHETIC MONSTERS!>EXODIA!? IT IS IMPOSSIBLEThere is a obsession over collecting new monsters since you can have more then 1 however never summoned at the same time and there is a limit on how many you can basically hold in your duel disc. Who all the characters useAnd if you take away the duel disk from a summoner then they can not do shitThere is far more explanation to why some characters have shit mons or not a full set if you like to know
>>11892793Let me answer this in a different way.I am quoting an atheist who disagreed with the book of Ecclesiastes 1> there is nothing new under the sun.> Is there anything of which one can say,> “Look! This is something new”?>It was here already, long ago;> it was here before our time.> No one remembers the former generations,> and even those yet to come>will not be remembered> by those who follow them. And the atheist did go:>what about the moon landing? When did before 1969 anyone land on the moon?I understand your objection however I disagree.>I think you are putting the cart before the horseThe idea of visiting the moon did exist before it happened however it is technology who introduces new ideas. To go back to that movie it has atmosphere on the moon and people living on the moon like it is some village in Africa. Contrast to the idea of radiation flooding and hard vacuum in reality or movies like gravity. Not mentioning the need to know your orientation or rotation if we are talking about gravity or artificial gravity or motion in space.I know some real physicist on youtube did not understand the expanse and why they gravity only when the engines are on until she looked it up in google(because the show is not explaining shit)>OOOO gravity from linear acceleration I get it now
>>11892791>And to this day this sounds like shit because NPCs using that word in conversations reads like you are having a stroke.>>These pals are pure evilHow does that read like you're having a stroke?
>>11892820>>>These pals are pure evil>How does that read like you're having a stroke?Simple because of what the world "pal" means in English.>Friends are pure evil>Comrades are pure evilBecause you would not describe total shit heads as your friends or comrades or pals.
>>11891159Should I just stop worrying and just go through with my idea?I'll be honest I'm not sure how I feel about copyright as on one thing it has caused me disappointment. On another I know that if I come up with something worth something I'll want it protected and not be stolen. It is like hating lawyers except when one needs one if that makes sense.
what people now call creativity refers to someone's ability to take existing concepts and remixing them in interesting ways. This children excel atThey also lack the concept of 'cringe' which only serves to hamper one's ability to release works
>>11892791>The best example are video games think Saints Row VS GTA.Better example: GTA vs Hotline Miami.
>>11892791>What if we make pokemon...Actually, it was "What if we make Ark, but reskin all of the dinosaurs into Pokemon?">These pals are pure evilNot a single NPC anywhere in the game ever utters a statement anywhere near similar to that - one of the big themes of the game is that it's HUMANS who are evil and exploiting the otherwise good nature of Pals. Even the final boss wasn't evil despite its destructive biology - the girl who fused herself to it was the one who snapped.
>>11892737fucking BASED
>>11893258>Actually, it was "What if we make ArkWrong. The game is clearly made out of memes foam the pokemon fandom the Arc mechanic was farted on top.>Not a single NPC anywhere in the game ever utters a statement When you are born into the world (or what is its name) there is a guy siting there if you talk to him he says something like that.
>>11892790>Children where always influenced by their parents and culture and never deviated from what they know. The only exception is data corruption meaning if they corrupt something they did hear about (bad memory) into something else.I meant to say that's fine to be molded by what others teach you, genuine curiosity, knowledge of the world, even misinterpretations of reality, but I take some issue with it being molded by what some company wants to sell, not necessarily because of the content of it but by how some kids feel tempted to adhere to it as if it was an obligation.>>11892806Honestly, I've always been a character first kind of storyteller even back then so I never delved much into those topics unless it became relevant to the characters. Pokemon were essentially border collie-smart animals with superpowers and Digimon were as independent as their powers could get them; for one, the Tamers main trio were a group of mercenaries/fixers, Wargreymon was an annoyingly stubborn chieftain, Veemon was a nerd, Omegamon was the sage that lead them.Meanwhile, Justimon joined Sakuyamon and Beelzemon as part of a faction that wanted to let digimon go around and continue to get stronger by killing whatever they found, since digimon need to constantly feed on data. And suddenly Cygnus Hyoga infiltrated the group pretending to be sympathetic to the cause, when he was in reality getting intel to the Sanctuary, which were who lead humans.
>>11893253WRONG.GTA VS Saints Row is perfect since Saints Row is so identical to GTA in everything. It was clearly made using this method where you basically start with fan fiction and keep on removing things you do not like and adding things you like.Gangster are public domain so Rockstar can go pound sand.>Better example: How?GTA and SR = Open worldHM No!GTA and SR = Vehicles you can steal and driveHM = No!GTA and SR = Open world free roaming.HM = linear missions on small maps who have a start and end.HM = you can take like 1 hit max(is there not a character who can take 2 as a special ability?)GTA and SR = Lots of player HP, can take 30 bullets to the face no problem!HM = from the top view.GTA and SR = behind the shoulders view Pictured: Orville VS star trek
>>11893303>Wrong. The game is clearly made out of memes foam the pokemon fandom the Arc mechanic was farted on top.You didn't play the game. The basebuilding mechanic is basically the primary game - you literally cannot advance unless you research your Technology Tiers, gather the correct materials, and build the correct workbenches so that you can in turn build the correct weapons and armor. Considering you can do most of the grunt work by yourself for the earliest tiers, it's the Pokemon mechanic that was tacked on as an afterthought to get people to buy the game (with all the memes made canon for more appeal). But it's Ark first and foremost.>When you are born into the world (or what is its name) there is a guy siting there if you talk to him he says something like that. You're not "born into the world", you're washed up on a beach after a "monster" (implied to be Panthalus, the big whale who keeps people away from the islands) wrecks your ship. The NPC you're talking about is a woman, and she says "this place is hell". She does say that Pals may attack you if you're not careful, but she never calls them 'evil' - just that they're wild animals and you're an idiot if you go picking a fight with them unprepared. The only characters that are ever mentioned as being blatantly evil are The Syndicate (Team Rocket expies who are actually a threat), The Free Pal Alliance (Zealous hippies who don't actually believe a word of what they preach), The Brothers of the Eternal Pyre (who are just crazy pyromaniacs who like to burn people alive for shits and giggles), the PIDF (corrupt cops who are running a drug ring), the Pal Genetic Research Unit (who are stealing Pals from people and using them for genetic experiments to produce the ultimate Pal), and Zenara - all humans who were exploiting Pals.
>>11893315>when he was in reality getting intel to the Sanctuary, which were who lead humans.Interesting I like to know the overview of the plot.>Honestly, I've always been a character first kind of storyteller even backWhat interested me in these digi types( Virus, Data, Vaccine) is that the they are basically alignment.Virus is basically D&D Evil since almost every villain(especially in S1 and S2) is Virus type.Data is basically D&D Neutral and the handful of exceptions to evil digimon in S1 and S2 are data type.Vaccine is basically D&D good since there are no examples of evil vaccine type digimon in S1 and S2.Then the show started to try to mix things up(like D&D) and did go>Actually Virus is not evil they are more like edgy and problematic and only sauced by evil 99% of the time!S3 main good mon Guilmon is Virus type from start to finish in its evolutionary line.Have a lookhttps://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Guilmonhttps://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Growlmonhttps://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/WarGrowlmonhttps://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/GallantmonLater I think they even introduced evil Vaccine types who are basically every stereotype rolled into one they are basically angels who have a stick up their ass 24/7.From the show it look like thisVirus = 99% evil mons 1% goodData = 75% literal victims 15% good 7% evilVaccine = 99% good 1% evil.Did you incorporate this into your play/fan fiction or ignored it? Or are you from a country(USA) that did show bullshit instead of the narrator slaying its type and level (then the name of its 2 attacks) when it first shows up?As for the levels I obsessed with it since it was>Wow what will its next level look like?Did you in your play/fan fiction? As for pokemon they obsessed over >Water type defeats fire type!To a insane amount.
>>11893318GTA started as a knockoff of HM, bro. It took pretty much everything from HM.>GTA and SR = Open worldThe more recent ones, sure. But the original was a top-down 2d game identical to Hotline Miami.>GTA and SR = Open world free roaming.Again, that's a later addition. OG GTA was pretty linear.
>>11893324>You didn't play the game.I did a little.I did beat basically a team rocket grunt with stick to death. Then I got upset that I was unable to take his gun from his dead body. And the game wanted me to capture 30 identical mons to level up or something I then I did quit. >you literally cannot advanceI know and that was the most boring part, I do not think anyone really likes the Arc part of the game. >Pokemon mechanic that was tacked on as an afterthought100% disagree. The pokemon memes where what the games idea was since it is a indie type needing to capture people to want to play it. They clearly mutated the base game into>Yea lets make it ARC!However you notice you can do the same thing to most game types. What if Skyrim however instead of a open world you get a linear adventure with small maps and a end screen after every level (like doom eternal)? What if DOOM 2 however it is a open world game? There is literally a mod/wad who does that! And the ARC shit is not that impressive or thought over as the rest of the game(creature design!)>Ah yes generic wood crafting station #1 from the unity asset store>Generic crafting station #2 from the unity asset store>Generic crafting station #3 from the unity asset storeYou notice you can turn skyrim into a ARC clone also and obsess over base building (I bet there are mods for that) no more going to town to use the forge build your own in your base etc.1/2
>>11893324>>11893341>You're not "born into the world"I forget the official name you start the game what was it?>you're washed up on a beach after a "monster" (implied to be Panthalus, the big whale whoDid it? I remember starting the game and I walk out of a cave maybe I played an earlier version of the game?>"this place is hell". She does say that Pals may attack youSomething like that.>Pals may attack youAnd this is a schizo statement if you read it before conditioning yourself to the game. >Pals may attack youtranslation>Friends may attack youI am sorry am I having a stroke? Is this schizophrenia? I basically conditioned myself to read pal as pokemon and then it is not a problem. No idea why they call them pals instead of monsters....>Syndicate (Team Rocket expies who are actually a threat), >The Free Pal Alliance (ZealousI see you are really into the lore, all I did was run around the start area capture some mons realized the difficulty spike was really hard since the grass dragon I tried to get was basically a next level bullet sponge.... kited it got it then farted out the mandatory crafting stations I was expected to make(I did not enjoy this aspect of the game) moved further into the land, encountered some team rocket guy with a gun killed him and their small base. Got upset that I can not loot their guns who they did have on them. The game did want me(I forget why) to like capture 30 of the same mons to level up something and then I decided to quit because capturing the same mon 30 times is repetitive as fuck. Was it not >Capture 30 of the same mon to get access to this next level crafting stationOr something like that?2/2
>>11893342>The game did want me(I forget why) to like capture 30 of the same mons to level up somethingNo, the game wants you to capture 48 of the same Pal to Condense them into one Pal and Max out it's star rating. It's not mandatory, though - you only do that for your endgame Pals, not every Pal you own, and you can actually bypass that entirely by feeding them Star Fruits (which are rare, but can be purchased at certain vendors). You get a tutorial for it when you first build the Condenser (which you need to do to upgrade your base to the next tier), but the game doesn't force you to actually do it - it basically just tells you "this machine can make your Pals stronger by dusting unwanted copies of the same Pal into a single one. You can do this with a maximum of 48 copies", not "You MUST catch 48 Chikipi and fuse them all RIGHT NOW to make the ultimate chicken!".Then again, it does sound like you played a very early version of the game - there are no dragon Pals in the starter areas, you don't start off coming out of a cave, and most of the grindy stuff has been greatly reduced since 1.0 released; there's also a proper story now, hence all the lore I mentioned regarding the factions. The game can now be made even easier by modifying the World settings at the start menu (and can be adjusted at any time, as many times as you want without affecting your Achievements). Might be worth giving it another try (with a clean save), since the general sentiment is that the game has improved significantly since the early builds.

>>11893345Thanks. The dragon was the one I posted in my picture this thing. I am not disputing what you are saying however I really really really did not like the base building mechanic of the game and quite literally farted out the crafting stations all over the place(no organization) because the game wanted me to make Crafting station #22 now!I think there where like progression bars to get next tech levels and this was connected to other things no idea why I wanted to catch 30 mons maybe it did give XP to level up tech and I wanted something like a gun? Maybe I wanted to get a real gun?I know I made a harness or wanted to make a harness for my flame fox monster to use him like a weapon.>Then again, it does sound like you played a very early version of the gameYea this is possible or I am misremembering things. I really did not like the base building part and farting out crafting stations to look at menus of bullshit who want me to level up shit to get more tech and something says >capture 30 of the same mon toI did say no since that is repetitive as fuck and quit the game. I wanted to explore a fun world not sit in the starting area and fart out more crafting tables and look up endless menus of bullshit and leveling up tech levels with more repetitive bullshit. I remember getting upset that I can not pick up the guns of bootleg team rocket or whatever(where they not labeled as poachers or something?)1/2
>>11893345>>11893425>reduced since 1.0 releasedMaybe, however I got lots of other things to do now. Totally dislike the crafting aspect and doing a loop of>Fart out wooden crafting table>Do bullshit to level up to the stone crafting table>Fart out stone crafting table>Do bullshit to level up to the iron crafting table>Fart out iron crafting table>Do bullshit to level up to the steal crafting table>Fart out steal crafting table....>Do bullshit to level up to the Adamantium crafting table >Fart out Adamantium crafting tableIs really not fun and my starting area is full of retarded tables all over the place now. Also looking into endless retarded menus of leveling up tech and farting out 4 different types of crafting tables(or whatever) is not fun.>Ah you see you need to build and level up the anal fondling table before you can use it to build the dick sucking table before you can level up and build the iron ball table then collect 5 different resources to make a better pokeball in it! like seriously not fun especially that I need to look up how these shits interact with one another. And there is a tech level for all of this who levels up with some XP...The creatures have some nice designs and I enjoyed kiting the plant dragon and then capturing it, the glitchy pal AI was fun to exploit.
No one in this thread will ever know the intergalactic fighting tournaments I held. They will never know the adventures of the NotLego guy with the metal vest and space helmet, traveling through space and time to save his own ass (and others by necessity) in his bitching hybrid spacecraft.
>>11893325>Interesting I like to know the overview of the plot.Basically, my world had various regions where one or two factions lived. Humans didn't have much in the way of figures other than Saint Seiyas so I used to have and later the Commando Elite from Small Soldiers, here as the leading monster exterminating group.Maximals and Predacons made sure to stay away from those guys for as long as possible and tend to their own goals, until a weird cat putty villain I made up forced them to join forces to get rid of him; but that lead to the Maximals becoming closer to humans.Pokemon didn't do much but obey other toys. And Digimon started in the digital world but were chased into the real world by the dark masters, so they weren't the entirety of the race but a small group of refugees that tried keeping to themselves until they could go back. Some split from the group and chased their own goals, like Omegamon going into the mountains to monitor the situation and subtly guide them or Belzeemon starting trouble in his goal to help his race survive or Imperialdramon becoming a savior to whoever was lost without discriminating.Saint Seiyas returned later, through Hyoga and Aiolos since someone was selling their vintage figs just in time for the anime reairing, appearing to deal with both factions of the digimon fight, with Hyoga joining Belzeemon and Aiolos advising Omegamon to broker a deal with humanity.I never really thought in terms of alignment, not to elevate my kid self but my toys did what the plot needed them to do or what I thought their given character would've had them do.Like Beelzemon could be followed by Justimon because both are concerned with the state of their race and still be a villain, or Chip Hazard believing he was doing the right thing by hunting down Goliath while he's actually trying to help humans.I feel like at some point, my dad keeping the news on became more influential to me than cartoons, though.
>>11890605What the fuck's SONICHU doing here?
>>11892677>The Hand
>>11893668Exactly what I was thinking - Master Hand and his left-facing buddy Crazy Hand.
>>11893668>>11893825Smash Bros wasnt invented yet when I "created" the "character". So I still think those characters were lazy despite being "neutral in concept" as a character in a crossover game
>>11893325>Later I think they even introduced evil Vaccine types who are basically every stereotype rolled into one they are basically angels who have a stick up their ass 24/7Cherubimon's entire gimmick is being a sweet angel that turns into pure evil at the drop of a hat.
>>11892737Cool
>>11893633Meant to epitomize OP's stance on mashups not being truly creative, I think.
>>11891040>he'll start shit like "he can't fly, you can't make him fly", "just because he has a visor doesn't mean he has laser vision", "he's a hero, he would never do that"There was probably always some kid on the spectrum that did that. "no, Riker can't team up with Spider-Man because Riker is centuries away from Spider-Man".
>>11890605I had a female playmate so my childhood was lot's of playing house with my toys.
>>11892791>The best example are video games think Saints Row VS GTABut half those things ruined Saints Row.
>>11891159>>11893117Hello anyone know what the right course is? My gut says to just go forward anyways.
