With the announcement of the series ending I've had Guyver on my mind again. Love the design and want a figure of it but was intimidated seeing just how many options exist out there. What are /toy/'s thoughts regarding the best brand and/or line for the series?
>>11896222>intimidated seeing just how many options exist out therewut
>>11896222thats a very "go nagai" style monster
>>11896287There's like a million options out there.
>>11896222Bio-Booster Armor Guyver figma No.600 Guyver I (Ultimate Edition) Action Figure (Reissue)
>>11896312Literally there are not. The only Guyver action figures are:Bio Fighter Collection from 2005, outdatedFigma from 2014, outdatedFigma Ultimate from 2023, perfect. That's the one you want OP, the Figma Ultimate.
>>11896312>>11896326>many knock-offs a multiverse of plastic crack makes
>>11896222Its sad news, but not unexpected. As for figures I strongly recommend the figma 600 ultimate like others mentioned. There is a gigantic coming next month and a dark and guyver 3 next year.
>>11896222>Ending>It is just confirmation that the author has given up after some horrible health strugglesThat is sad, man. I was hoping that maybe he got some help to quickly wrap it up or something.
>>11896361But what if I don't want to wait?
>>11897941this is why you gamers are a joke and your hobby sucks
>>11896222...it was still ongoing? What the fuck? Man, Japs can't finish a story to save their lives, literally.
>>11897966Meanwhile in America all the comics and cartoons have definitive endings and don't just go on and on until popularity wavers and then just end production unceremoniously or reboot.
>>11896356what
>>11898040>Meanwhile in America all the comics and cartoons have definitive endings and don't just go on and on until popularity wavers and then just end production unceremoniously or reboot.isn't American animation dead? no one cares about a show ending, gravity falls is getting a reboot because people hate that ending. but hey it's an American cartoon no one would watch it meanwhile guyver continue to get toys all the time
>>11897966>...it was still ongoing? Not really. It was on indefinite hiatus since 2016.And before that it was only getting like five chapters a year since like 2011. Everyone had a feeling it was over but there were tons of different rumors.
>>11898124Americans are fat and comic books lost to anime. Everyone is reading one piece while marvel is woke and gay
>>11897941Not sure if you are serious, but if you want to pay after market for a figure that gets re-released in 2 months then go for it. As for the gigantic and 3, there are the old figmas and bio-fighter collection figures if you want to hunt them down, but they havent aged well. There's also the 1/6 if you can find it.
>>11896356Knock-offs don't count. People should NEVER buy knock-offs, ever.
>>11898057The guy is unable to draw, but he can still come up with storylines, he should just write out a finale and get another artist who can match his style closely and finish it.
>>11896222Fuck toys just buy the best version of Guyver 1 out there that is the Prime 1 Guyver statue.
>>11898239This. If you are having constant health issues that make you unable to work for the foreseeable future then it just becomes an ego / pride thing where you are depriving your audience because you can't control 110% of the product from start to finish.
>>11898239>get another artist who can match his style closely and finish it.A lot easier said than done. Just look at Berserk. As much as Miura's assistance is trying it just doesn't have the same style/tone anymore.
>>11898239>>11898277>>11898329>but he can still come up with storylinesHe says his mental faculties are also compromised, he can't focus enough to write a story and his memory is shot so even if he tries it all just is stuff he can't organize and would just forget soon after.Even if he gave up the story to someone else entirely, his approval process is limited because he can't concentrate or focus on reviewing it. I imagine that's why the main avenue of Guyver releases is just statues and toys he can approve of more directly than having to read scripts or watch anything or go over intense contracts.
I want a figure of the live-action movie.
>>11898537Dark Hero, too.
>>11898538
>>11898538The Dark Hero movie is so fucking rad.
>>11896365it depends on what's done with the IP whether stuff will get wrapped up, get rebooted, etc.
Unfortunate but the dude had like 30 years to finish it.
>>11899095Like Berserk. That guy was going to die before he finished it.
>>11898336Damn, now I feel bad for him. Still >>11899095 is right. You dont have to be Oda levels of planning to have everything leading to one conclusion but surely he had some kind of ending in mind. Even Akira Toriyama would normally give simple plot summaries and character descriptions while letting Toei and the Manga develop their own interpretations of those ideas during Dragon Ball Super.
You will pay out the nose for literally anything that isn't a shitty chink bootleg. Just be prepared for that.
>>11898540The American movies are cheesy as fuck but still a lot of fun, especially the second one.
>>11898329Yeah cause he's not there to guide it along, this guy is.
