empty_crown will be receiving its first update tomorrow. I intend to release two chapters every week, one on Monday and another on Friday. We'll see how feasible that is. This story is very involved I think? At least more so than Roadwarden, with a larger cast of characters that're more consistently presents.Roadwarden was relatively easy to write since, for the most part, Marek was alone or with a Fiend that didn't talk THAT much. Though I'm fairly proud of the chapters that had other human characters as well. Phoxy Phantom might also receive an update tonight, if I'm not too crushed by our first chapter. I decided to include the chapter list because why not, really. Oh, I saw that Marek/Vesryn fan art from a couple days back, both uncolored and colored. I appreciate it! Love to see my creations outside of the theater of the mind.

>>82131025>>82131074 (me)Speaking of... While I think the Expanse is an amazing series, both the books and the TV adaptation, I know that some are probably going to be turned off by that being a prerequisite to reading my story. How much rehashing should I incorporate into my characters without doing just plain exposition? I was planning on having some of my characters delve into moments of their past to touch on main plot points that could bring new readers up to speed and on the flip side be a nice treat to those who have already watched/read the series.

>>82131114A lovely fur. A cherished beast.
>>82131305I want to get back into Stellaris. nice amount of anthro friendly portrait mods but I got real tired of mod breaking updates every 3-4 months. Maybe in the next 5 years they'll stop releasing DLC/Updates.
>>82131232hope she got my good side
>>82131323I think what you describe is likely the best way to go about it. I stay away from writing Fanfiction for the same reason, that story/exposition debt that needs to be worked through while you're writing. It can be a boon or a bane, but generally its more work than I ever care to worry about. I'll say, keep it light. Just because it exists in the setting doesn't mean that you really need to explain...anything. Write the story in the world, and everything that needs to be said, will be said. But that's just my two cents.
>>82131366>owned by paradoxthey won't stop milking a game until its sequel comes out
>>82131366I just want Stellaris to be good again...
>>82131376>
I played Stellaris on release when it still had multiple FTL options. They never knew what they were doing with that game.
>>82131366>>82131388What happened? I've always had an interest in Stellaris, but I guess that was during the "good times", because all I ever read is that updates break everything, bugfixes don't fix any bugs and make more bugs, things that were supposed to be free updates are now overpriced DLC, etc.
How many people here do you think have gone mad with desire for anthro women and gone for the "next best thing"
>>82131433all the paradox 4x games seem to have those issue
>>82131436>next best thingYou mean... fursuits with human women inside? Gross!
>>82131433I can't speak for the other Anon's my gripe with constant version updates is it break mods which I know is my fault but I've been playing with mods for so long it's hard for me to go back. Other part is just general ingame BS and late game sluggishness that make me want to play on Mid or smaller size galaxies only.
>>82131433Everything you just said is what happened. That and most new DLC aren't very good at best, downright suck at worst. Machine Age wasn't bad though. Still all overpriced and underbaked.
>>82131385Yeah, I feel you. I'm worried that once I leave the storyboarding phase and actually start writing I'm gonna burn out very quickly. It happened the last two times I tried writing Longform but to be fair I wasn't writing fan-fiction; I was writing about games that had very little established lore . I also didn't storyboard as throughly as I have for this story I'm currently working on. I think I'm better at taking established settings and molding them together, but hopefully I stick through with this one.
Happy belated Bunday. Nothing new but I was going through my folder and don't think I ever posted this here.
Honestly if I want to go on an anthro kick with 4Xs I kinda just go with Age of WondersEspecially since 4 lets you do whatever with races so you can very easily just do, like, a Greco-Roman society of magical vampiric wolves or swamp-dwelling monkey people that ride on raptors and fight with flintlock rifles, warships and cannons
>>82131433Make sure you download all 200 dollars worth of overpriced dlc to get a complete game.
>Another anthro VN releases on Steam>No human MC but whatever>It's Bara Tier Gay only/hmofa/ on top of looking for good straight content and coming up empty on both is truly torture.
>>82131499I feel you on the burnout front. I'm not the most experience author but if I could give one bit of advice, DON'T STOP. Work through the slow period. Grind against plot points that're crushing your balls. It's so much easier to write something bad and then go back to touch it up, than it is to stop. Do not listen to that voice in your head that says 'Oh, I can do it tomorrow, or next week.' Before you can blink you'll be a quarter of the way through the year with nothing to show for it. Ask me how I know. Good luck! I'll be reading anything you put out.
>>82131516dart sucking angel
>>82131521That's the biggest issue with these game when you don't buy them on release and pick up the cheap DLC as they come out.
>>82131519The new rabbitfolk are cool. I'm loving the Anthro attention in the game plus it actually lets me play as a Fucking Dragon which is a hyper PLUS.>Fingers crossed for Anthro Kitsune race

>play stellaris again for the hundredth time>gigastructures, cute xeno portraits, lustful void >set end game for the year 3000 so I can spend the whole time painting the galaxy>first thing I do is work on collecting all the various xeno races and make them female only>gene edit them all to have different physical characteristics >build massive human male/xeno female utopia spanning the galaxy using crazy gigastructures>do this nearly every playthroughI think I have a problem.
>>82131563You just wanted to let everyone know about the horse
thank you for advertising your disgusting feralfaggotry, taurchads stay winning
>>82131563I gotta be honest, I did peruse those threads at least intermittently, but now that there are complete degenerates totally comfortable talking about how they're fucking and abusing their actual pets and other animals.... I don't think I've gone into one of those threads in a year, maybe two. Like, holy shit. I know I have spicy tastes regarding anthros, how I prefer shit like cookies and other 'accurate' genitalia but there is a very strict line and once its crossed my stomach starts turning very, very hard. If it doesn't pass the Harkness test, I'm uh. I'm good.
>>82131580I can relate a little>Make a new game with max size >Make custom Anthro nations>Make custom HYPER genocidal robots, alien, etc.>Load up my faction -w- Babylon 5 ship mod, Earth Force of course>Spend the entire game doing my best to Save The Anthros and settle them safely in my territory with the humans to keep them safe.Maybe I just want to be a hero, maybe I wanna save the Anthro girls, but I also used LV so I get it.
>>82131527>Dumbass mechanic should've had magbootsThanks for your inspiring words. I hope I dont disappoint you. I'll probably give myself time allotments where I do nothing but write. No distractions, no social media, not even checking /hmofa/.
I don't really care if someone fucks a horse
>>82131555Yeah, been meaning to do a proper nomad run at some point, maybe with rratfolk combined with an elder vampire leader for sunless biome spreading shenanigans
>>82131628Seriously? That's foul. I have exotic tastes but like you said if it doesn't pass harkness I'm not into it.
>>82131648>always set end-game crisis to max strength prethoryn scourge>spend the last moments of the game defending all the xeno women from the devouring swarmSoul kindred
>>82131655The helps. I listened to a lot of Jazz to keep my writing going. Jim Hall's Concierto from '75 is my writing bread and butter. Don't forget that you need to be inspired to write. Try to read or watch things that get the creative juices flowing. All great things borrow from things before it. Watch a movie in-between chapters. Watch a bit of the Expanse, or read some, or play the new game whenever it drops. Pick up classic scifi like Rendezvous with Rama or Foundation, or newer stuff like Starship Troopers. Anything to keep your mind on the thing you want to create. Anyways, that's enough unsolicited advice. Good luck!
>>82131628you people are very sheltered if you ever browsed a place like that and didn't have at least a passive suspicion that people who post there were thinking about stuff like that
>>82131736I wouldn't say I didn't expect it. I mean, it's literally a thread about fucking that actual, straight up animals. I'm not retarded. It's the blatant admission of ACTUALLY doing it that grosses me out. There's a distinction between fiction and reality. You can fantasize about raping and murdering a girl, but the act of doing that is significantly worse. Same sentiment.
>>82131769You need admission for it to be wrong, suddenly...
>>82131792Admission? No. An ACT, yes. But I have a mounting suspicion that you're arguing in poor faith. Good day, sir.
>>82131730Images you can smell.
>>82131809Let me offer you a little advice. Anyone who surrounds themselves in a particular subject at length is often thinking about it from the framing of real life as well, no matter how much they deny it. Whole words, phrases and even symbols have been coined to obscure the fact and minimalize it in artistic or clinical terms. This applies to anything, mind you. They all think it. Even you do, no matter how much you'd profess otherwise. It is very human to contradict oneself.
>>82131844I find nothing realistic about hmofa
>>82131858Bnuuys are so violent and meanProbably ragingly dietist towards carnivores and omnivores too
>browsing hmofa while having a smoke>overheard neighbor watching the nightcrawler mirror scene>on repeatI felt that.
>>82131884That doesn't mean you haven't thought about it in realistic terms.
>>82131899Whenever I put actual thought into my fantasies it just ends with numerous ways as to why it wouldn't happen.
>>82131844Dude. Are you reading what I'm typing? Do you think I don't understand how fiction is framed in the mind?Regardless of however anything is 'framed', I don't care about the thought. And the thought of anything, no matter how realistically constructed, is trumped by the act. In reality. And like I said. I understand what these people think about in all spaces. I understand how I think about x or y subject or entity. None of that matters until its etched in reality. That's when the line is crossed. That is the distinction that matters. Do you understand, dog? Scum?
>>82131937You should probably ask yourself why you'd take their word for something when anyone can spin a realistic situation that otherwise violates common decency. Well, for as much as people like you are willing to accept, anyway.
some of the worst offenders of any subject are the people who react the most negatively to others discussing what they're guilty of liking

>>82131958nta but implying that you can't trust admissions because they might hypothetically be highly realistic stories is asinine. when people begin going into detail about I'M FUCKING MY ACTUAL, REAL LIFE BITCH DOG that'd obviously put a poor taste in the mouth. i suppose that's more inline with a fantasy that doesn't turn the prospective anon on, but also assuming that sick fucks on this website aren't actually joking is disingenuous.
