>Saturday morning cartoon based on a movie IP
>writers take it seriously instead of treating it like a disposable kids show
>write it so the last episode of the syndication contract has an actual definitive ending with no open-ended sequel baiting
I always hated cartoons as a kid that had long running mysteries because even back then I knew the shows would end before they would ever actually solve them
I was fucking shook in 2000 watching pic related not knowing it was the last episode and seeing it had an actual ending where everyone wins and all mysteries are solved

Yeah, I like it when shows have actual endings.

Jumanji was a good show.

I remember this show it was fun, I enjoyed it even though I hadn't seen the movie

More like Jew-manji

lmao

Are you afraid of getting Jumanji'd? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cdBcfLhJVY

Apparently it was a different company but the guy that made Duckman worked on it so that’s why there’s some cross-pollination
Doesn’t come close to how gross the usual Kasky-Csupo show looks though

Never saw this one but as a kid I liked the cartoon of The Mask. Reminded me of it.

There are anons other than me that liked Duckman!?

The mask was pretty funny. I loved the crossover episode with Ace Ventura
>>
>>198564330
I remember the Mask had an “embarrassed nude female” bit in one episode, seeing shit like that at an early age is what gives you fetishes as an adult

How does /tv/ feel about the wild thornberries?
>>
>>198567220
I never cared much for it.
>>
>>198567241
It almost has a plot like OP mentioned. There’s mostly one-off episodes about animals but there’s arcs like when Nigel gets Knighted and drama about Eliza losing her power, etc,
>>
>>198567220
It was okay
>>
>>198567220
I used to enjoy it when it was on but it wasn't a favorite.
>>
>>198567348
I liked that it was semi-educational even though it didn’t always have its facts straight and more of an action show rather than comedy like rugratz.
>>
>>198567411
Yeah I liked seeing the exotic adventures and all the cool animals.

Good show, but the last episode was a glorified clip show
>>
I was surprised how grim the show could get.
Very first episode, they find toys left behind by kids who died playing the game
>>
That Evolution show was kind of weird, based on the David Duchovny/Shawn William Scott movie. As was the Mummy one based on the 2000s movie. Like 1 or 2 seasons each. But from what i remember they were entertaining for kids at the time.

It's Jason Alexander's best role.
