>Saturday morning cartoon based on a movie IP>writers take it seriously instead of treating it like a disposable kids show>write it so the last episode of the syndication contract has an actual definitive ending with no open-ended sequel baitingI always hated cartoons as a kid that had long running mysteries because even back then I knew the shows would end before they would ever actually solve themI was fucking shook in 2000 watching pic related not knowing it was the last episode and seeing it had an actual ending where everyone wins and all mysteries are solved
>>198563875Yeah, I like it when shows have actual endings.Jumanji was a good show.
>>198563875I remember this show it was fun, I enjoyed it even though I hadn't seen the movie
>>198563875>Klasky-KupoMore like Jew-manji
>>198563919lmao
Are you afraid of getting Jumanji'd? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cdBcfLhJVY
>>198563919Apparently it was a different company but the guy that made Duckman worked on it so that’s why there’s some cross-pollinationDoesn’t come close to how gross the usual Kasky-Csupo show looks though
>>198563875Never saw this one but as a kid I liked the cartoon of The Mask. Reminded me of it.
>>198564263>DuckmanThere are anons other than me that liked Duckman!?
>>198564330The mask was pretty funny. I loved the crossover episode with Ace Ventura
>>198564330I remember the Mask had an “embarrassed nude female” bit in one episode, seeing shit like that at an early age is what gives you fetishes as an adult
>>198564425There are dozens of us! DOZENS!
>>198564263>Doesn’t come close to how gross the usual Kasky-Csupo show looks thoughI like the style of Rugrats and Aah Real Monsters
>>198565342lol
>>198563875Mighty Max was bretty gud and had a decent ending if just a bit cliche.
>>198564425Duckman is a classic
How does /tv/ feel about the wild thornberries?
>>198567220I never cared much for it.
>>198567241It almost has a plot like OP mentioned. There’s mostly one-off episodes about animals but there’s arcs like when Nigel gets Knighted and drama about Eliza losing her power, etc,
>>198567220It was okay
>>198567220I used to enjoy it when it was on but it wasn't a favorite.
>>198567348I liked that it was semi-educational even though it didn’t always have its facts straight and more of an action show rather than comedy like rugratz.
>>198567411Yeah I liked seeing the exotic adventures and all the cool animals.
>>198563875>>Saturday morning cartoon based on a movie IP>>writers take it seriously instead of treating it like a disposable kids show>>Budget runs out, and it ends on a cliffhangerWe were fucking robbed, troopers.
>>198567586
Good show, but the last episode was a glorified clip show
I was surprised how grim the show could get.Very first episode, they find toys left behind by kids who died playing the game
That Evolution show was kind of weird, based on the David Duchovny/Shawn William Scott movie. As was the Mummy one based on the 2000s movie. Like 1 or 2 seasons each. But from what i remember they were entertaining for kids at the time.
>>198564425It's Jason Alexander's best role.
