>Michael Caine was Hitchcock's first choice for the role of Rusk, the main antagonist, but as Caine later said, "He offered me the part of a sadist who murdered women and I won't play that. I have a sort of moral thing and I refused to play it and he never spoke to me again."
Who was in the wrong here?
>>
>>198576786
Neither of them. They both had a preference that couldn't be met so they went their own ways and both were successful.

>He offered me the part of a sadist who murdered women and I won't play that. I have a sort of moral thing
Yet he had no problem playing a butler who burned a forest down, all for his precious jewels.

Racist pro white anti immigrant piece of mayo shit.
>>
>>198576786
Interesting post.
>>
>>198576786
Neither. Both based Brits. Just didn't work out. Frenzy villain is indeed horrible, way beyond say the Psycho villain. Right decision.
>>
>>198577092
they make meds for folx like you
>>
>Want this job?
>No thank you.
>Okay.
Neither
>>
>>198576786
Refusing to play villains isn't moral it just means you're an image obsessed bitch
>>
>>198577523
t. no moral compass
>>
If he was uncomfortable with the character then it would've made his performance worse. Mike did mankind a solid and Hitchcock found an acceptable alternative.
>>
>>198576786
then caine would go on to making films such as blame it on rio where he seduces his friend's pre-teen daughter in brazil
>>
>>198576786
He fucking drowned a chick in Get Carter. What the fuck are you on about Caine?
>>
Probably didn't want to be in an over-the-hill Hitchcock movie
>>
>>198576809
Stop being reasonable on 4channel.org
>>
Can Michael Caine even act?
>>
>>198577814
I liked him in The Prestige.

When Michael Caine acts he acts VERY WELL INDEED
>>
>>198577631
Completely acceptable behavior at the time.
>>
Why did Alfred burn the letter? What the fuck was this old coot's endgame?
>>
>>198576786
>He offered me the part of a sadist who murdered women and I won't play that.
Lol he was fine with playing a self hating tranny who murdered women but a sadist... that's a little too far
>>
>>198577727
Now you see master anon, that's no woman, that's a bloody whore.
>>
>[on Jaws: The Revenge (1987)] I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific. I am in so many movies that are on TV at 2:00 a.m. that people think I am dead.
he sounds based
>>
>>198577855
heh. best part of those movies.
>>
>>198577947
Fair.
>>
>>198577727
He literally did not. Rewatch and think better.
>>
>>198577814
No. He's just very lucky that people find the extremely british personality charming and to watch and fun to listen to. And he's one of the most british sounding and acting guys out there.
>>
>>198577031
It was the size of a tangerine dude, come on.
>>
>>198576786
Why did he take Dressed to Kill then?
>>
>>198576809
>>
>>198577814
Yes. He's great in the Ipcress Files, The Italian Job, Black Windmill, Get Carter.
>>
>>198576786
Depends.
>and he never spoke to me again.
How often did they talk before this?
Were they friends who talked regularly? Or were they acquaintances in the same industry, who only spoke to each other on rare occasions?
If it was the later, did Hitchcock go out of his way to avoid Caine for years afterwards? Or were they just never in the same place and Hitchcock died before they were?

His name is My Cocaine
>>

It's a prelude to Dark Knight Rises. The whole point is that it's wrong to conceal the truth regardless of your intentions.
>>
CARTER was too moral to play a scumbag? after his rumors on location filming and small children.
>>
>>198578036
he got to play a tranny
>>
>>198576786
Kek, he played Jack the Ripper once.
>>
>>198576786
Didn’t he play Austin powers degenerate absentee father?
>>
>>198579177
DAH DEE
DADDY WASNT THERE
TO CHANGE MY UNDERWEAR
>>
>>198578036
My exact thought on reading this. Dressed To Kill was just "A character who murders women but only if they make him horny".
>>
>>198577971
He does a pretty funny "Bloody hell!" when the shark comes at him as he's out on the plane's wing. Like a small dog suddenly jumped out of the bushes while he was walking in the park.
>>
>>198577031
Women cook and clean and do other stuff, when have trees done anything for anyone?
>>
>>198577631
>pre-teen
been a long time since I've seen it but pretty sure she was supposed to be 15 or 16.
