How come they never spend time in the 21/22/23rd centuries whenever they're on the holodeck or make references to famous authors from around those times?
>>198585682All media and history from that time has been purged because it wasnt woke.
>>198586215you have it backwards. it was purged because it was woke. thats why they only talk about classic literature and music and idealize periods when women were treated like the children they are.
how come they never had a spot of fun in a rape gang simulation
>>198586539Star Track is secretly… le based???
>>198586603its not much of a secret. consistently shows women as emotional liabilities. consistently anti abortion. consistently heterosexual. consistently supportive of state rights. also consistently not racist except for some DS9. (liberals are very very racist)
>>198586594Why simulate it when there's a whole planet for it
>>198586594> rape gangSo India never fixed its overpopulation issue in the future?
>>198586594I dont know thats an interesting point. Id imagine more interest lies in referencing known people instead of making up one. Mark Twain episode was kino
>>198585682
>>198587678they did enterprise dirty
>>198586539>they only talk about classical musicwell also classical music will not get copyright struck
>>198585682They were too busy eradicating all chuds back then to produce many good movies. Outside of snuff films, obviously.
>>198586603Always was
OF COURSE THEY RUINED THE BREEN. OF COURSE!
>>198585682They ALWAYS reference one author or musician or scientist from that time. Seriously, whenever they give examples it's always like this:>"Famous scientists like Newton, Einstein, and Keldar of Vulcan">"Great musicians like Mozart, Vivaldi, and Blarnax of Halycon">"Classical beauties, such as Helen of Troy, Marilyn Monroe, and Bangoogly Woogly of Plinky Plonky 7"
>>198585682Think about the death of the monoculture as we've experienced over the last few decades and amplify it with the mingling of completely alien cultures starting with our first contact.
>>198588516what are you even talking about?
>>198587752
>>198585682Riker does, just not in TNG itself.
>>198588943That brainlet thinks a race that existed in DS9 as one dimensional nothings in repurposed Star Wars cosplay masks getting some actual development is them being 'ruined'
>>198589053what the fuck are you talking about? the breen havent been seen since the hirogen were fighting them on their super holodeck.
>>198589053Why do you NuTroons always attack the older shows to prop up your own?
>>198589460You have literally no argument except name calling because you know it can't be argued.
>>198589488>mysterious race who wears masks, removing them would be extremely painful>turns out they were just green dudes the whole time>THIS IS ACTUAL DEVELOPMENT! OLDFAGS SEETHE!uh huh, rightand which show got cancelled after 65 episodes and won't be remembered in a few years?
>>198589584>removing them would be extremely painful4u
>>198585682They literally did in the first episode of TNG. It was a nightmare dystopia. Pretty accurate prediction.
>>198589584what are you guys talking about?
>>198589669STD is still airing new episodes that only 10 people are watching; they unmasked the Breen and they're literally just green skinned bald guys
>>198588817>Bangoogly Woogly of Plinky Plonky 7
>>198588955hip hop is extremely easy to throw together for a movie, no skill necessary
>>198589584>removing them would be extremely painfulThey're such non-entities you had to include this, a thing you made upIt's funny how you can go to the production section of their entry on Memory Alpha and it's all quotes about how the show runners absolutely didn't give a shit, they were a zero effort throw away thing
>>198589786>They're such non-entities you had to include this, a thing you made upHoly fucking newfag. Holy fuck.
>>198589695No, they're a dual form race. One a normal physical one that they shun, the other, the main one that they stay suited because of is some fluidic translucent form.
>>198585682iirc they sort of did this with DS9. I think Sisko does that with baseball players.
>>198585682Isnt the early 21st century a shithole in trek canon? (And in real life)
>>198589927Something like 1990-2090 is varying levels of world war and post apocalyptic recovery, but culture apparently doesn't exist after that period, nor much before it either
>>19858568221. because 3 world war, duh22. at least riker was show running holodeck enterprise nx which take place in this time23. is their present
>>198585682The 21st century was war, shitholes, and recoveryThe 22nd century was humans timidly skulking where others had been for yearsThe 23rd century is the present.
>>198585682>How come they never spend time in the 21/22/23rd centuries whenever they're on the holodeck or make references to famous authors from around those times? They probably did that off-screen. I agree with you though, the writers could have made something up. It's not like they had to fear a backlash from Trekkies in the 23rd century.
>>198585682The answer has nothing to do with world building or the in between centuries. Holodeck episodes were (mostly) filler cost cutting episodes that allowed them to cheap out intellectually and monetarily by writing about the world they knew instead of creating the world that hasn't happened yet.

>>198588817>Bangoogly Woogly of Plinky Plonky 7One sweet piece of ass
>>198592871The impressive quality of the holodeck wasn't the computer's ability to make up bullshit, it was the ability to project light as matter
>>198592454it also let them use random sets that were already around the studio lot.
>>198585682In DS9 they spent time in 21st century San Francisco when it was a hellhole overrun with homeless
>>198592971Nah, it was both
>>198586215>>198586539Unironically culture warriors most likely nuked a good chunk of 21st century records during WWIII, sparing future generations of cringe
>>198589819So half of the Breen are basically snowmen?
>>198588955https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiyZEbGSHnY
How many of you were /trek/ regulars? My favorite star trek is the TNG.
>>198587678Worst finale but far from worst episode. Actually would have been great episode if he was using it to decide to leave the Enterprise for Titan. The episode was about Trip leaving and would have paired with Riker leaving. Such a shame.
>>198594281MeI like them all except VOY, STD, ENT and most of PIC.
>>19858568222nd/23rd century would be just a different flavor of scifi. Not really needed imho.21st is too close to reality still and they probably wanted to avoid another Eugenics Wars in 1997 like TOS established.
why don't they have Christmas in star trek?
>>198594786really makes you wonder
>>198594204According to Enterprise, the culture wars of the late 2010s to 2020s never happened in the Trekverse. GWOT was the last major conflict before WW3 sometime in the 2040s.
>>198594281I like em all except anything after Enterprise
>>198594786the wise men followed the second star on the right and straight on till morning in the trek universe
