So the creators course corrected with S3 and on, folding in characters and storylines from past seasons with the new societal levels they wanted to focus on in subsequent seasons.

I'm in season 3 kind of struggling, we just lost Cole. I wish we could have seen much more of Frank Sobotka, he had such energy and conviction that never really got explored in any meaningful way.
