Running on Karma. Andy Lau plays a former monk turned bodybuilder with the power to see people's karma. He befriends a policewoman and help her catch a killer but is dismayed at the fact that she is fated to die. It's a Buddhist parable about karma that builds to a very touching ending.

Honestly, I prefer the older stuff. I feel like the newer stuff is much too...anachronistic. Its like the medieval fantasy media these days which all fare a fighting woman in pants or never have spears and shields. Just doesn't seem right.

Monkey Magic though it's a Japanese TV show from the 70s.
It's basically a monster of the week show based on "Journey to the West" which partially intends to educate children with buddhist wisdoms.
