It's the old classic trope of "I speak a little of your language..." and then spending the rest of the film/series speaking in fluent, poetic, and deeply insightful English, never hesitating for vocabulary or grammar. She also was a bit too much of a warrior princess too. I thought the constant rain was kino. Reminded me of Kurosawa and Zatoichi. Stuff set in medieval europe hasn't stopped slop makers from casting DEI actors before so I genuinely expected them do it.
