Is it just me or did that series, especially the finale, feel like RTD mixed with Chibnall? Or like RTD trying to emulate Chibnall?If this had been RTD era 1, I reckon the story would have been more about Triad Technology itself, like Sutekh was still trapped in the time vortex but had managed to slip some arcane information through to Susan to create Triad technology, and she got everyone to install it in their phones, this had powered some kind of machine that allowed Sutekh to enter into our world properly.The Doctor would have helped Ruby find her real mum and she discovers the machine is hidden in the basement of the hospital she works as a nurse at, and together they smash it up and this reverses everything Sutekh did.I know this is just as retarded as the actual episode but it would have been a simpler idea. One of the reasons Kate Stewart doesn't work is because writers seem to misunderstand the relationship between The Doctor and The Brigadier. Yes, they respected each other and eventually became friends, but more often than npt they butted heads. The Doctor is a rebellious misfit and The Brigadier represents authority. Not only does New Who seem to forget this, but they sometimes do the opposite and have The Doctor bossing around Kate and UNIT.
