HOW THE FUCK IS SCREAM 6 WORSE THAN BLACK CHRISTMAS 2019 OR THE SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE REBOOT?
>>
>>200645212
The problem with polls is that people haven't seen many movies and either pick what they have or just what was mainstream. Scream 6 was bad mostly because of the ending. Black Christmas re-remake was just feminist trash and SPM remake was at least not as shit. The only thing good about Black Christmas re-remake was Cary Elwes.
>>
>>200645081
Never seen it either, just know shit about it from it being parodied on South Park & Family Guy.
>>
>>200643595
Saw it. Found it to be the best of the trilogy, it feels bigger and more well-rounded than the first two.
It's a love letter to 80s slashers and giallo, with all its oddities and strange narrative decisions. I might rub people the wrong way if not seen in this context.

Sex scenes only exist to make women watch your film and fill the coffers of whores. Both things that degrade the integrity of film.
>>
>>200646786
>Sex scenes only exist to make women watch your film
Tbqh with you that's an Amerucan millennial incel/shut-in cope. Irl men seek these scenes bc most of us enjoy them, much more than women do bc their own path to arousal is different, they're not as visual. Horror for instance is almost alway about female nudity, and rightly so since this fear-desire is essential to the the genre

>>
>>200646598
it gets really fuckin bonkers at the end too. i watched the first sequel but not the 3rd. it’s a lot different but wasn’t terrible from what i recall.
>>
>>200646926
It's the truth. You have to actually know women and understand their preferences to realize that and realize other obvious facts: men masturbate more, seek and create pornography in several media more often etc.
There's a thread going on about Kinds of Kindness with anons saying sex scenes are for
-Europeans
-brown ppl
-indians
-women
-chinese
What they don't seem to get is that this means most of the world's population except for incels and/or ppl with extreme religious upbringing.
Again, horror has practically never fetshized men's bodies bc we prefer to see women naked
>>
>>200647013
They'll say sensuality and sex which is topless scenes and some random bitch getting banged.
>>
>>200647039
>men masturbate more, seek and create pornography in several media more often etc
You obviously know very very little about women if you believe this.
>>
>>200644787
Funny scene, one of the movie's best moments. Overall it's long-range and a bit repetitive but worth watching
>>
>>200647039
i agree but there is a difference between a simple AWOOGA scene of a womans bare breasts and a 5 minute sex scene like in the room
one is just to get dumb men horny and interested in paying for movie tickets and the other is for guys without dial up to jerk off to
>>
Sex scenes are put in movies because women don't understand plot or characterization so you have to jangle sex in front if them like keys in front of a stupid dog.
They bitch like crazy if movies or TV don't have a sex scene every episode. It's fucking up everything.
>>
>>200647063
Science establishes this bc of semen buildup. Women can go without masturbating for longer and they sometimes have issues such as vaginismus and lower libido whereas in men testosterone usually means a higher sex drive. All movie genres where sex/nudity is more frequent are historically linked to male audiences and women watching porn is in fact a recent phenomenon.
When Jean Rollin, Roger Corman or Sergio Martino put sex scenes in their movies they were catering to a male demographic.
>>
>>200647044
90% of nudity in horror films is just a hot woman getting naked for some contrived reason before getting murdered. This is clearly for the male audience, it's not like women were going to see nudie-cutie films like Orgy of the Dead.
Sex scenes (where a man and a woman roll around like retards) I agree are more aimed at women, but are also more rare.
>>
>>200647130
this, my mom didn't understand lethal weapon until riggs and murtaugh buttfucked each other and now its her favourite movie!
>>
>>200647086
Yes, nudity doesn't always leads to sex in movies or in real life. Nude scenes are there for several reasons, mostly but not solely titillation/ arousal. There's an aesthetic appeal to them
>>
>>200647130
>It's fucking up everything.
What kind of zoomer take is this. On the great list of issues fucking up film and television, "too much sex" is way, way fucking down the list.

X, just like Eyes Wide Shut, actually shows that the sex is a very compelling drive that sometimes overrides social norms
>>

>>200647925
His new movie does the exact same thing. Of course the new male porn star is a black guy again. It's obviously his sick fetish.
>>
I have to applaud Ti West on how he managed to make a single scene which makes both meme left and meme right seethe.
>meme right: noooo you can't show a black guy pretending to fuck my imaginary latina waifu in a movie nooooo
>meme left: noooo you can't show a black guy fucking a white guy's girlfriend and take the white guy's side in the movie, she isn't owned by the white guy noooo
>>
>>200647877
That was provocative even if black porn actors weren't that rare in the 70s. What compounds it is the fact that the bf was white and Jenna, despite being latina, had up to then a "pure" rl public persona. In fact I assume the "Sunday" panties was a pun related to her Wednesday character.
But this type of trick shouldn't faze you since irl women of all races are statisticallly proven to overwhelmingly prefer white men.

Yes, it's vague enough to go either in that direction (but that would mean a very unreliable narrative in several aspects since many scenes have only the viewers as witnesses, including the very last one) or it could mean that the brother was actually attacked by the killer

>too bad it was ruined by going on for a comedic amount of time.
wrong, the movie failed because it didn't commit to the mesmerizing (pocket watch) immersion of truly long takes - idc about filtered plebs and zoomers.
I'd say it desperately needs a director's cut after being butchered in editing for commercialization but I'm not sure how true that is.
I knew it'd be an issue when they jump cut ahead his walking to the 1st house but then even in the kill sequences which should be unsettlingly realistic and suffocating in the held shot (gunshot+hatchet throw) he cuts all over the place like it's a typical action money shot (yoga). They surely had to for the gore effects, but at what cost?
Director cites 'Angst' and 'Elephant' as inspo which both exemplify this technique when done right.

they only really commit on the logsplitter and even that got butchered
>"That was one of the last things we shot in the film. And we were all set up, and it was like an overnight shoot, and we were just running out of time. So we had to make an executive decision, because everything was kind of in a one-take, like, the whole body was rigged. So we had one shot at everything. We had to make an executive decision to be like, 'OK, well, what's the minimal amount of limbs that we can get away with without kneecapping the gag so much?'"

props to sticking with Unrated, lack of music ambience design and the actor really nailing the menace in his pacing

All the horror movies I've seen in June

>Terror Train
Comfy train atmosphere, the "most unpredictable plot twist in history"™ (heard someone say it about it) was pretty lame, I thought it would turn out that Jamie Lee Curtis had a dick.
>Scream (whole series)
1&4 = best, 5&6 were actual agony to watch. Proof that the "meta" of Scream is easily defeated by the new meta where being diverse protects you from death.
>Hidden
Did predict that "it's normal outside" twist. It was maybe 33% accurate. But other than the twist it was probably one of the most boring bunker movies that I can remember.
>Retreat
Idea worth a 20 minute mystery series skit expanded to a full movie. Predictable twist because I've seen this as a related movie to Hidden.
>The Mist
I couldn't remember whether I've actually seen the movie on TV or not, but when I watched it there was absolutely nothing new that I didn't remember. Wish they made new movies with the "massive creatures from another world" concept, I don't think its potential has ever been properly tapped in horror movies.
>Hellbound - Hellraiser II
It's like a Disneyfied version of Hellraiser. I've seen clips from the movie years ago, the movie didn't help with the embarrassing deaths of Pinhead and his gash. Kirsty wearing Julia's skin was jumping the shark. I remember reading about the skin peeling scene decades ago, it sounded much scarier on paper than it looked on the screen.
>Final Destination (whole series)
More of a rewatch. The opening scenes are the only memorable part, the one by one kills are just too unrealistic to take seriously. 4th movie was the worst but its sex scene is what made me keep this waste of space on my HDD.
>Night Train to Terror
1st segment had lots of 80s titties, 2nd has just one pair, 3rd segment was the longest and the worst. Admirable effort to recycle a couple of cancelled movies. The song lyrics
>Everybody's got something to do/Everybody but you
spoke deeply to me.

Found by accident when looking up Night Train to Terror. A made for TV movie that almost no one watched. I knew it would go to shit the moment Steve Zahn appeared. RottenTomatoes critics score doesn't work for horrors unless it has like 70+ reviews, sometimes even more. With other genres when the movie has 20 reviews for example or even 10 and the score is relatively high (i mean both % and the avg rating) i can safely torrent the movie and there's a good chance i will like it. But with horrors? It absolutely doesn't work unless you have a bigger, broader sample of reviewers. Complete lottery. It can be kino, it can be student level crap, tomatoes tells you nothing. I think i blame "genre enthusiasts" who are so enthusiastic they will throw away any standards for the movie they are watching and will just like whatever

it's when normal movie critics decide to review the movie, only then the score matters
>>
>>200663140

Rude, I hate goreshit in movies unless it's really disturbing. I'm few clicks away from looking at pictures of malformed fetuses, decomposed grandpas, burn victims and Mexicans mutilated by other Mexcians. I find certain beauty in how disturbing it is.
Movie gore does nothing for me. The House That Jack Built had a really cool and creepy idea with that house though. Would love to see more of that.

Will In A Violent Nature turn into a new Lake Mungo, Leaving D.C., Dashcam?
>>
>>200664973
Dashcam and Leaving DC are actually good. Lake Mungo is boring as all hell. Hopefully it turns out like the former two.

LNWTD 7,5/10

I've seen this, but my program uses 2023 for release date because of the festival release. If I had to rank it somewhere for 2024, it would be in running with Abigail for the lead so far.

it works for me (except for horrors). What's your problem? Combining RT + some other criteria results in me liking 80-90% of the movies i pick.I have a great filter. Loosening criteria and picking whatever means i will drop most of the stuff because it's bad

Yes, it made the festival rounds in 2023. It was mentioned often in generals last year, I remember talking to an anon who had seen it months ago and spoke highly of it. He also claimed that some in production Nekrokosm (still tbr) scenes had already been shown to execs etc and caused a very good impression.

If that's what you think. He pretty made everyone seethe. He made the poor seethe by calling them brokies and he reminded the rich they are still dork nerd geeks. He also reminded females of their declining value.

That reminds me of some stupid fucking movie I saw about these blind albino flying cave lizards that mindlessly attack anything that makes sound. At one point in the movie the protagonists are trying to take shelter in a farmhouse and one guy turns on a nearby wood chipper and the entire fucking swarm just flies right into it and gets mulched.

Shit. Speaking of this, I saw a movie where a bunch of people go to this third world forestry nice place and there are monsters. The local government knew and the monster was shown on tv and a few people survive at the end. What is the title?

Oh you actually think Tate is cool. lmao.
He's not making anyone seethe you silly goose. He's a dweeb who needs to astroturf himself into relevance.
>>
>>200666001
>He's not making anyone seethe
He obviously is. Stop pretending. You think the nerd dork geeks that is rich wants to reminded his is still nothing but a nerd dork geek. 90% of men are betamales and just wish that 40, they can larp as high value or made it and is respectable and then Tate comes out of nowhere with 20 cars costing 5 million each saying, "no you're still a dork."

BTW I also watched Infested (Vermines) and it's a 4,5/10. Story/characters are awful, effects and set pieces are good.
It's a bit like Under Paris but the latter has much better cinematography and both movies have a timely aspect to them bc they both subconsciously tap into the growing rejection towards mass immigration/foreigners as an invasive species to be controlled)
