It feels like a 6.3 rated movie. The pace is weird and the characters intro is almost useless and forgettable, the whole movie would've worked without it. I get watching the bridge scene must be pretty good for the first time back them. But nowadays it's just frustrating to watch. You now they are going to make it over the bridge because it's a overused trope, but it looks completely unrealistic and forced dramatized. Then afterwards they are stuck in front of the fallen tree and for some weird reason the guys in the back approach the scene on foot...but why? Why not drive and get out of the truck? The blowing up of the tree was sold like a insane macgyver approach, but it's just them blowing up with dynamite. Later they drive and converse and BOOM two main characters are killed off in an instant. In the end he get's 40k, but you know that will be like half it's worth in 5 years thanks to 80s inflation
>he watched itHAAH! Gottem!!
>>216069874This movie has very unique atmosphere to it and it aged really well considering it's pre-80s
>>216069874It's Friedkin slop. It's Mann for midwits.
>>216070349>Mann for midwits.what the fuck
>>216070360Yes, I'm conveniently ignoring shit like Heat and Collateral.
>>216069874>the characters intro is almost useless and forgettableit wasn't like that in the book nor in the first movie.> Later they drive and converse and BOOM two main characters are killed off in an instant.this is also a scene which is way better in Wages of feari think the bridge scene in Sorcerer is visually one of the best i've seen in a movie, but it's not very believable and makes the risk of explosion seem less likely. again, Wages of fear is better at making you fear
It’s a remake of a 1952 French version film called “The Wages of Fear”, so just watch that one instead, it’s better. I don’t know though because I never watched it.
>>216070407>>216070390Hey it's on Tubi. I know what I'm doing tonight.
I see a sily face!
>>216069874>>216070458What was even the point of the modified grill? It looks like a toy truck made of clay
>>216070390So they made intros because they though it would be cooler for the US audience? I bet everyone was just confused about the no dialogue in the Israel scene and the french part that later didn't matter at all.>but it's not very believableThat was a very frustrating watch, but it was shot very well
>>216070549Worst thread I’ve seen on this board in a long time. 85 IQ community college film school graduates discussing why ”Sorcerer doesn’t work”.
Fuck you. You wasted a thread to besmirch a great movie. I'm wasting a reply to admonish you.
>>216069874you should kill yourself immediately.
>>216069874Kids these days are so mind raped from decades of getting fed trash they can't even distinguish shit from chocolate anymore. This is not 85 iq, anon, this is 100 iq in its purest form.
>>216069874The first like 30 minutes or so, to the point where they roll out of the garage with the fixed up trucks, is probably my favorite setup for a plot to any movie, ever
I guess you missed the ending because he wasn't gonna make it five minutes let alone five years.
>>216070485The point was they were given a scrapyard of junk to work with and had a whole montage of them picking parts to cobble together 2 usable trucks for the trip. The grill was pulled off an early 50s Ford.
>>216070691agree; it’s like 4 kino short films
>>216070612I understand that the movie is trying to be a purely audiovisual experience with little dialogue, but would it have hurt to include a little bit of character development? Any at all? I hardly remember that there was a Nazi character in it. Two protagonists get blown up and you hardly feel bad for them because they barely talked after the opening anyways
>>216070637I saw this long before I watched 'The Sorcerer'. Simpsons used to be so good. I did happen to catch an episode earlier this week. It was about Comic Book Guy and his Asian Girlfriend. It wasn't half bad. Some good jokes and a decent story . The animation still looks alienating though.
>>216070750I can tell you've never left the house. This movie was real world shit. Man shit.
>>216070612>>216070624>gen xers can't discuss and resort instantly to shit flingingYou know, nowadays you can actually use arguments instead of violence like back in the 70s
>>216070836The world is more violent today than it was in the 70s
Too many retards to count in this thread. It’s Freidkin’s second best film right behind The Exorcist. Sorry you nigger faggots don’t get it.
>>216070789>This movie was real world shit. Man shit.kek
>>216070349well yeah he began by describing the film with an arbitraty number so of course hes a fucking midwit
The first time I saw it I thought a lot of the beginning introducing everyone could have been chopped out. It was boring. Second time I can't really see the movie not having all that stuff. Dunno why I bounced off it so hard the first time I saw the film. Also Wages of Fear seems alright so far. Glad this thread popped up and finally made me check it out.
>>216070407Sorcerer is better than Wages of Fear
>>216069874You gay.
>>216070750my friend, you are displaying symptoms of terminal brainrot. character development doesn't have to mean finding God, a lover, renouncing one's past, and strictly positive growth.>>216071301only ones i've watched thus far, need to get into more. The Exorcist has been in my top 5 since i watched it ~8 years ago. The French Connection up next for me. talked with my dad about Gene's strange death not long ago.
>>216069874>in the end he gets 40kUh...anon
I've been away for a while, what is this shit?
>>216070318Too bad it has no plot
>>216072217The gayest thing to ever happen to 4Chan. The second I saw it the other week I wanted to smash my phone into a million pieces.
>>216070318>it aged really well considering it's pre-80sJesus Christ. Anyone born after 1995 needs to leave.
