Hmmmmm, true. Worldbuilding of OT was basically "The entire galaxy is ruled by the Empire and our trio have joined a rebellion to stop said Empire."

TPM? Galatic Republic with a Galatic Senate (with makes up thousands of worlds) that is corrupt and bureaucratic, a Jedi Order with thousands of members, Podracing, battle droids, and new alien species.

Interesting to note there is only one jedi (with what I suppose is a fruity padawan braid) about to get gassed, being interrupted burning through the blast door, and sexually assaulting Bar Bar Jinks.

Also, did those mouse droids make it in the prequels?

The reason this was cut was because Lucas wanted Ian McDiermid to do the fight himself, but nigga was old. If you watch the fight closely there are a few shots where it's a stunt man with his face replace digitally, and it doesn't look particularly great. If they'd gone with this original choreography then much more of the fight would have been CGI Palps and it would have looked like shit

>No main character
It is Qui-gon and Padme Amidala. The story follows Qui-gon as he tries to help the Naboo (and Queen Amidala) repel the Trade Federation. Without him, major events in the story wouldn't have happened.
>Midi-chlorians
They exist purely to fix potential worldbuilding issues in Star Wars by establishing that some have a more innate ability to use it than others. Because if "anyone" can just tap into the Force, then the obvious question would "why can't you train an entire army to use the Force?" "Why aren't there other Force using factions opposing the Empire after the Jedi been wiped out?" and many more
>Jar Jar
He is simply comic relief. If your argument is that is he can mess with the tone of a scene, fine. If your argument is simply that he's "annoying", then my simple response "well I didn't find him annoying". Saying that Jar Jar is annoying is not an objective mark against the film, it is simply you stating that you find him annoying.
>Twirly lightsaber fights
The lightsaber fights in this film are good and well choreographed.
>Chosen One
Don't know what your against it is specifically, but fine.
>No personality
Qui-gon is a maverick religious zealot who is willing to go against his subordinates if he thinks it's for the greater good. Anakin is a bright and cheerful kid who has deep attachments with his mother. Padme is naive and headstrong and is willing to do what is right when the situation calls for it. Jar Jar is a clumsy idiot who gets himself into trouble and has to be saved by others. Obi-wan is reckless but is willing to do what his subordinates say.

OT saber fights were way more ritualistic and honor dueling for the sake of old times like in samurai movies. War tactics is done with guns, tanks, spaceships and the force.
Prequels made lightsaber fights tactically relevant by buffing up jedi to extreme levels and made them into funny little glowstick dances instead.

By now you should have figured out that Jedi are operating on a level of understanding of combat and their bodies that a layman cannot grasp. It is a kind of alchemical warfare beyond our ken. It is visually expressed by a kind of sword dance for the viewers' sake, just as disembodied spiritual warfare is shown as kung fu in The Matrix. But we are to understand that the initiated are operating on planes we cannot see, and the appearance of this combat mediated through the physical is only the tip of the real iceberg.

wasn't that how things worked anyways?
was anyone under the impression the force was truly open to everyone?
doesnt the fact that yoda worries about luke's age show that there are more stringent requirements to use and learn the force?

You are so lacking in your own culture that you’re relegated to eating our garbage. Even your beloved SpongeBob SquarePants is our hand-me-downs.

I saw some faggot on here yesterday trying to declare The Room a misunderstood gem that we just didn’t get because Tommy Wiseau has a silly manner of speech.

Gen X hated the prequels for the same reason I hated the Dilbert tv show. I'd grown up reading Dilbert and had an idea how how these characters spoke and carried themselves, which the TV show violated. Gen Xers had fixed ideas of who Darth Vader was and would never accept a revision.

I think having Anakin be a great prodigy who fell through a passionate love perverted into wrath really offended the sensibilities of a generation who understood Vader to be merely "fascist dad". Original Star Wars was basically One Battle After Another. The prequels change Star Wars from an optimistic communist epic into a pessimistic Christian epic.

Technically it can be both. The OT doesn't really that far in regards to critiques of capitalism (TPM, AOTC, and TCW did, kind of, with slavery). Only film that explicitly did that was TLJ and that film was a dumpster fire (with war profiteering being introduced in the main film canon). The OT was generally more "anti-authoratarian" than "pro-communist".

The PT is arguably more "pro-communist" because a thread throughout the PT is corporations using their influence to attempt to get what they want (like with the Trade Federation in TPM and the other corporations in AOTC)
