I'm on season 4 of Mad Men and so far all of Don Draper's problems boil down to:>Oh no I'm a conventionally attractive man with a beautiful wife and kids and an extremely high paying job in which I get to drink and take naps all day, my life is awful :(
>>217955230>Why would you choose to be gay?
>>2179552303rd worlders don't understand when you have your every need fullfilled and don't need to hunt your food, look for shelter clean water - you start to think "is this it? this is all there is to life?" and you fall into deep depression. So the better your life is, the more depressed you become.
>>217955230Man the 60s were great... I want to go back.
>>217955230His wife is a psycho bitch.
MOM! I POSTED IT AGAIN!
>>217955278I'm really starting to turn on Betty this scene, she's really turned into a miserable cunt.
>>217955230No, his problems come from his twisted and fractured psyche that prevents him from forming intimate relationships with other people even though he’s been starving his whole life for precisely that
>>217955262Well, that's why higher classes in ancient Greece were able to make groundbreaking discoveries in maths and physics and philosophy -- because there was fuck all else to do.
it's called an "imposter syndrome". hard to relate if you've never left your parent's house.
>>217955333Damn I feel so bad for him, I really need to watch all 10 seasons of a rich handsome faggot struggling to find a woman who will put up with this needy feminine bullshit you just described.
>>217955602>t. never left parents house
>>217955333Oh no, what a tragedy. Give me a break, the dude is living better than most kings 100 years ago could even dream of. It's especially insulting in the context of the modern state of the economy for zoomers.
>>217955230Anyway, I just made this for my fellow Mad Men chads a few minutes ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J65m2Jb5CXw
you unironically can't understand Mad Men if you're a virgin
>>217955830He is simply a handsome dullard and remains one throughout the show. He is only in his situation because he is too much of a dull normie to appreciate anything or apply himself at anything beyond shilling things to people.
>>217955262That's literally the founding myth of Buddhism though.
>>217955830>MOOOOOM! THIS SHOW INSULTED MY ECONOMIC STATE!
>>217955230His problems boil down to being a nihilist with no beliefs or purpose in life. He's just an empty shell, everything about him and his life is fake and built on lies. They beat you over the head with this for 7 seasons.
>>217955882>no purpose in lifeThe purpose of your life is what you make of it
>>217955602>Damn I feel so bad for himI don't think he's written to be terribly sympathetic. It's fine to feel contempt for the way he ruins his own life while also acknowledging the tragic circumstances that continue to affect him.
>>217955909He is too much of a soulless kike to make anything of his shitty life. Were he 5'6 it'd be a lot more obvious and everyone would succeed at identifying it.
>>217955882That's the condition of modern man, so it doesn't say much about his problems specifically.
>this angers and confuses the third worlder
he should've married that hot rich jewess from season 1
>>217955830a king could change the world. all don can do is create want for bullshit, and even that's a bit of a scam, but the show tries to avoid going down that route, because weiner only had a problem with goy advertising.
>>217955872kek
>>217956017she was way too good for himshe's one of the only people to call him out on his shit too
>>217956017He's clearly cut up about her later in the series because he gives her husband's name when he's drunk as shit and needs to enter another bar.
>>217956003That’s kind of the point of being set in the 1960s innit?
>money=happy
>>217955838Kill yourself Jew>>217955842There's nothing to understand, it's just an adKill yourself
>>217955950Alexander the Great was 5’. Being short is the ultimate drive to achieve human greatness and history has shown this. For pussy.
>>217957162Nice, he appeared. Go comment on my Youtube video.
>>217955230>>Oh no I'm a conventionally attractive man with a beautiful wife and kids and an extremely high paying job in which I get to drink and take naps all day, my life is awful :(At least Pete and don werent racist to blacks
does this have anything funny in it or is it one of those shows that takes itself too seriously?????????
>>217957452
>>217955230i dropped it after the jews showed up in the 3rd episode or whichever
because it's not a showit's corpoganda at the height of the 2000s recessions
>>217957487Their prospective Jewish client shows up in first half of the first episode.
>>217957170Alexander would not have had Don's bullshit ass problems. He was called The Great for a reason. Don could be referred to as Don the Gigashill.Don is just an exceptionally handsome normie dealing with typical normie existentialist horseshit(which he overcomes in the most predictable way possible, by simply pretending he has attained enlightenment while changing absolutely nothing about himself and merely pretending).
>>217955230That was the main motif from season 1
>>217955262So the solution for US is a good, old civil war
Someone post the webm with the sideboob of the chick who fucked that good guy at the christmas party
I'm in season 2 and he literally says to Roger that he isn't sad his wife kicked him out his his house. That he is relived. He never cared about her and just did things to keep up appearances.
>>217957674
>>217957481It has funny moments. It is about the same level of funny as the Sopranos, but probably a bit less. Sopranos gets a bit more ridiculous. The shows are very similar though.
>>217957759Kek
>>217955849This. If he was really smart he'd figure out the meaninglessness of life and to appreciate what he had.
>>217957170>Alexander the Great was 5’He wasn't a jeet so no, he wasn't a midget by any description of him.
>>217957481Mad Men is funnier than 90% of comedies
>>217958506The world average was about that back then.
Nothing more empty that a man who has everything & can't feel it
>>217958733His dad was 5'11" you dumbass
mad men is a top 5 show for me
>>217955230Literally no one remembers the trauma that his real name isnt Don Draper and that he killed his CO because they didnt reveal it until too late
>>217957481It's one of the funniest shows ever made when it wants to be
>>217955230It will never be enough because he will always want more, that's the point
I can tell who really understands Mad Men based on if they sympathise with Don or Pete. Most guys want to be Don, but they're destined to be Pete.
>>217956014Shoutout to all my brothers chilling at ‘safety and security’
I got into Mad Men and it was a huge mistake. Show turns into a straight up soap opera pretty quickly, but I was committed to finishing it. It was not an enjoyable watch after the first season, and it made me relapse on alcohol too (the Heineken episode actually I never liked liquor)
>>217959655Childhood is thinking you're Don. Adulthood is the crushing realisation that you were Pete all along.
>Joan putting on a show for Jane's death so she doesn't look like a soulless cuntMad Men taught me that women are constantly masking their true selves at all times.
>>217959714*LaneFuck autocorrect.
>>217955230Why does this show filter brainlets so goddamn hard? Incredible.
>>217959682i'm a joan
>>217959671>soap operaStop using words you don't know the meanings of >>217957731>>217959271>>217959315>>217959655Kill yourself
>>217959753 pseuds and midwits understand it poorly I’ve found. They have a very poor grasp on why Don is acting the way he does. Defaulting on the obvious pop psych or feminist tropes when the connection is tenuous at best
>>217959682They're both terrible people and I don't really identify with either of them
>>217959990>No argumentUh oh bros we got a hot head here
>>217960092>>217959682Yeah
>>217960116He's a resident schizo who has been coming on Mad Men threads for years to mass reply everyone and declare that it's an evil ad for tobacco. Even though Betty dies of lung cancer in the end and all the shit in the first season about tobacco being unhealthy.
>>217960359He also goes to Leon the Professional threads too. It’s so weird. I’ll not browse /tv/ for 8 months and then come back and immediately see him. I’m actually interested in how he lives his life
>>217959682Nobody here is either character. Every anon would be a Ginsburg or Lane. Misfits out of their element.
>>217960410He goes into any thread related to media where young girls smoke cigarettes to have his little schizo fits. He's also a pedo.
>>217960483I think Harry Crane and Paul Kinsey are closer to the average 4chan user, although Crane is a bit too successful
>>217961700Paul is redditcore af
>>217960359>>217960410>>217961497>morality is INSANEKill yourself
>>217962167So you're a pedo concerned about morality? Portraying smoking on TV is a step too far? No kid is watching Mad Men, btw.
>>217955230Don is probably the least interesting character in the show to be honest.
>>217962167It’s insane that you keep typing the same few posts 7 days a week for many years
Character study dramas always get the greatest acclaim but they seem pointless since these aren’t real people and they don’t act like real people. It’s more of a vessel for writers to script a fantasy conversation that they thought about in the shower where they totally OWN the other person.
>>217962451t. haven't watched the show
>>217959655>>217959682Being Pete is great though. He wins in the end. Don is forever doomed to be an emotional trainwreck until the day he dies.
>>217955333He is literally an imposter.
>>217962451Nobody on tv talks like real people. Real people rarely convey information of substance to one another. Most of the time they just stammer out scripted responses to the tones of voices
>>217955230The show is about him being alienated from the upper class WASPs. He is outwardly a gentile but he plays the role of a jew. Its like Barry Lyndon.
