It's not hard to imagine that the kind of people who feel the need to publicize their scripts that way might not be the most talented or mentally stable individuals, but it does make me wonder if the issue is truly in the gatekeeping (which is what I'd intuitively assume would be the cause of the poor writing epidemic). Have you ever entered any contests? Contacted any (even amateur) filmmakers? Posted your stuff online? Would you like to be a known/filmed screenwriter one day or is it just a hobby for yourself?

>>217975728No serious screenwriter would ever post a script online. You query the industry with your concept and if they request it, you send a PDF. Contests are decided by even bigger idiots paid much less than the real industry, they're 100% bullshit. I've sent thousands of query pitches and been repped by lit managers before. Been told I'm a great writer by many experienced readers. I've seen the notes the top readers have on my stuff, and it's all about identity politics and not fitting the agenda, nothing to do with story. I'm a conscientious fellow and if people were pointing out plot holes or dialogue that doesn't work or something tangible, I would take the note and realize I'm not as good as I thought. But that hasn't been my experience. I'm being judged by legitimate idiots and barred from a career because of everything except writing quality.
Zoomers weren't really a specific generation anyway because generations fundamentally don't exist anymore. Anyone currently in that age range is still a zoomer, you just age out of it eventually. Millenials were probably the last actual "generation".
