Being in the UK you meet a lot of old people who are pretty heavy drinkers. My old neighbour in 2008 was a rich old white couple who had a cellar stashed with nice wines. They would drink at least a glass with every dinner but usually would end up drinking more into the evening too. The wife would come over and drink wine with my mum and get bladdered. She's still alive and probably reaching 90 now. Another I knew is an old man who had a friend and both would drink a shitton regularly and be at the pub every day. It was part of the trade finding work at the pub. He's still alive and also reaching 90.
