Why does reboot/IP branded slop never just do this
>>
>>218391077

The whole core concept of Star Trek , exploring new places, colonization, making contact with other civilizations to get them to join the human run federation is outdated and bad now. There is no new frontier and will never be. Contrast this with star wars vague concept of rebels fighting a opressive government which will never be outdated.

They announced Starfleet Academy S2 before S1 ever aired, so all it's ever gotten is a single 20 episode order split over two years
The point everyone's making is that there's nothing being filmed right now, and more importantly this is the first time since 2015 that nothing is being filmed
There had been a constant flurry of actors and sets since Discovery's pilot and that's finally petered out after a decade

>Discovery is over
>Lower Decks is over
>Strange New Worlds has filmed its final episodes and is scheduled to end after they air
>Risa hasn't been picked up
>Legacy hasn't been picked up
>no Section 31 sequel obviously

So the two question marks are
>Starfleet Academy has filmed S2 and is scheduled to air, will S3 be ordered?
>Alex Kurtzman/Secret Hideout's contract expires in August, will it be renewed?
(people are expecting those are two 'no' answers)
>>

One of the problems these SJWs have is they're always trying to push the real life cultural signifiers into shows. But the entire point about fantasy and sci-fi is they're NOT real life and DON'T look like real life.

They dropped that design after the first season of STD. In season 2 they were halfway between that look and traditional Klingons. Lower Decks later implied that they were alt universe Klingons from another reality.

The first 2 seasons are a bit rough around the edges because it focuses on the politics of Bajor (the planet that's near DS9). The Bajorans are a whiny and stubborn group of people. They keep talking about how they suffered during the occupation.

However, the show starts to get good when the writers add the Defiant ship in Season 3. The writers realize that the show still needs a ship. And they can't rely on all the episodes taking place on the Space station, or just using shuttles.

The writers realize Bajorans aren't that interesting as an alien species. So from Season 3 and onwards, the show focuses less on Bajor, and focuses more on other alien races.

If you want, you can just skip the first 2 seasons, and jump to Season 3. That's what I did. I only went back to watch the earlier seasons when I already watched the other seasons.

The purpose of modern entertainment isn't to financially succeed by making good material. It's to platform propaganda for however long it's financially feasible. When they did The Little Mermaid remake, do you actually believe anybody with a functional fucking brain thought it would make more money to cast a fucked up, dysgenic black girl who can't act with her eyes on the side of her head than a traditionally sexy redhead? Virtually everyone working in creative fields have gone through education and training systems that explicitly tell young people they are obligated to use their stations to push ideology, and implicitly only a very specific ideology at that. You can't even opt out to just focus on making good things because not making propaganda means you're complicit in the status quo, a supposed statement in itself. That's not even debatable, because they all admit to it. They brag about it. When somebody literally tells you over and over that everything is politics, you have to assume that everything they make is political. Most people are willing to accept that when you point it out, but once you start talking about the origin of this ideology they get uncomfortable and spit the truth back out (see: the overwhelmingly Jewish product that is critical theory).

>how did it get so bad
DEI hires. WGA made it so no new white men were hired and the newer writers really don't like star trek. TNG, DS9, Voy and ENT were written by scifi fans who liked the series that came before so when they wrote they tried to adapt their stories to star trek, and the original series is really mostly an anthology of different stories since it's mostly episodic and it's was specifically set up so they could go to planet and meet the nazis or whatever.
nushit is basically always people who hate the source material using an existing IP because they can't get their new IP made because no one wants to see their garbage

Classic case of making a show for a nonexistent demographic while alienating the existing and passionate fanbase. This is like pouring your coffee into the fishtank. You don't have what you want and the fish has something he definitely doesn't want.

WGA says you need to have x number of nonwhite writers on staff

>Every streaming show is a therapy session for millennial women
This is the real cause right here. They fill writers rooms up with dei women who don't know anything about writing and have never even considered for a minute what anyone else's experience in the world is. So, of course the then proceed to "write" self-inserts and make the characters all act as some kind of therapy roleplay. That's why it all comes across as self-absorbed, vapid, and lacking in actual diverse charter viewpoints. Just simple "good guys" that are copies of the writers, and "bad guys" that are cartoonish caricatures of any politics or behavior they disagree with.

In all seriousness, it is crazy how jewy both this dude and his sister look. Yes, I've seen the wiki collage, I'm well aware of Trek's history, but I swear to god these two have to be the most jewy looking actors across the entire franchise, barring the ones that played the Ferengi of course. What's funny is that they're supposed to be siblings yet they are visibly two different types of jew, the girl being a European jew (she still qt tho) and the boy being full-on Israeli yid.

The best we can hope for is they make good stuff at some point that just ignores most of new trek entirely and kind of just pretends it didn't happen by setting it post-Nemesis and only referring to TOS through ENT. They'll never decanonize it, so the best we can hope for is a setting that is after the trek we knew but before the burn bullshit which acts as a kind of lore-bomb to be avoided.

Man it's like how with Star Wars, people were constantly saying Kathleen was going for a whole decade. And people do the same for Gunn at WB.

>how did it get so bad and what sort of damage will the retarded drooling child raping faggot redditors who worked in all of those shows will do once they have to work somewhere else?

1. It started with Paramount wanting Star Trek to be a "big action blockbuster movie franchise" . So they made Star Trek 2009. It was the JJ Abrams movie.

2. In the 2010s, Streaming became big and Paramount wanted to copy Netflix. They wanted to out Star Trek on their streaming service.

3. DEI and diversity became "trendy".

4. Paramount thought they could knock out two birds with one stone. So Paramount hired people (like Alex Kurtzman) who loved diversity and politics to make new Star Trek shows.

Problem solved right? The guy who loves diversity and politics will be in charge of Star Trek.

5. They gave Alex Kurtzman an amazing contract which gave him nearly 100% total creative control of Star Trek for 10 years. He just had to make Star Trek TV shows for Paramount streaming.

6. Alex Kurtzman went wild spending hundreds of millions of dollars to make Star Trek TV shows. Far more than Paramount originally wanted to spend. He also hired staff who agreed with him 100% and shared his political views.

SKIP 10 YEARS.

7. It is now 2026. You are here.
