>>219880388In the books, yes. The ornamentation is a movie thing, I don't think the books ever describes a wand as looking like anything other than a 7-16 inch long stick. If you think about it, basically every wand pictured other than Krum's, Fleur's, and maybe Dumbledore's came from Ollivander's. It's kinda hard to believe that the maker of McGonagall's or Hermione's wands also made Bellatrix's wand. Or does Ollivander just have a stack he tries for the heroic looking kids and another stack he tries for the kids that look like they'll grow up to be murderers? Maybe the first wand he hands you to try says a lot about his snap assessment of you.
