Furthermore there is a level of earnesty that would need to be achieved, I think even further beyond the original, in order to make it work with a fun highschool setting + the martial arts aspect + the monster of the week aspect. Hell the original didn't even do this because it was reusing recycled Japanese footage for the fights, so we'd have to reinvent the wheel here in the US for toku style action which I seriously doubt we could do. You'd need a writer to not only was a genuinely great writer, the kind that shouldn't be working on a show/movie like this to begin with if they had the skills required these days, and also someone who genuinely had an interest for martial arts in a real way AND an interest in toku stuff that bordered on expert level knowledge of the genre. It would be impossible, the only way it would happen would be by complete accident where the people involved in the production were a perfect storm of guys accidentally making something that worked really well in order to bring it back. I'm afraid that kind of magic is lost todayLet's not even get into the toy company half of this equation either
