Finally watched it got up at 5. My laptop screen is taped and detaching so between random washed out color shimmers and silouettes of giant people appearing and their heads staying in frame it was better than I think. I'll watch a few more times. 8/10. Didn't care for comments about smells to me the backrooms smells consistent so the laundry scene came off tres forced and from another movie where twist they all died in a plane

Ok, blog. I marathoned the entire thing. The movie was pretty bad and it all comes down to a lack of a good director and a writer.The movie really is like if a youtube kid got given a few million to make a movie with the help of people who can do all the other stuff like building sets and framing the shots.A lot of the backrooms stuff got sidelined for a really bad attempt at a message, really ''making you think'' instead of just exploring the backrooms. In the entire movie they covered so little distance, maybe 20 rooms explored. If you didn't know what backrooms is you would be lost. The movie doesn't give you a sense of any scale, it seems like the backrooms are the size of maybe two furniture stores. It doesn't feel infinite, it doesn't seem even implied. Clarke makes the assumption that the entire place is full of clones of real people because he found 4 fake humans in 20 rooms.The inclusion of Async seems insane when nothing is done with them. Their only purpose was to get the therapist out of the backrooms and end the movie. If they didn't pull her out she may have explored the place and maybe something interesting would have happened.

I liked it, but I don't understand the ending. Did she actually escape the backrooms? Did Phil keep her in there? What did Phil's company do, did it make the backrooms possible? I think there should have been more time spent exploring the backrooms before monster stuff and people dying started. I would have liked to have seen the eerinees of them flushed out more, people splitting up, getting lost, etc. Overall fun movie and I look forward to sequels.
