Why did it fail?
>>2209375061. Disney killed it 2. Gen Z and younger simply don't care about SW 3. Much of the original fanbase of millennials and gen X have checked out
Not enough babu friks
>>220937506No hook, no plot, no development for either character, and Star Wars is a dead brand.Baby Yoda saying his first word is a no brainer, but Disney is afraid of even that, because Baby Yoda must always remain in his non-verbal, cute, marketable state.
>>220937506It didn't.
>>220937571>2. Gen Z and younger simply don't care about SWBeen a Star Wars fan since 2006. Born in 1997. I am a zoomer so you are just factually wrong.
>>220937506No one is going to watch a movie with that title
>>220937608You're on 4chan so you're a fucking outlier of not just your generation but of humanity itself.
>A Star Wars movie will not hit 300 in your lifetime
>>220937608nigga you are almost 30
>>22093760898 never seen a star war and after seeing what Disney did to the brand never will watch one of these movies.
>>220937506Because the second season sucked.
>>220937506Come watch Dim and Grookey check off sidequests for two hours! That’ll be $20 plus snacks.
>>220937506Disney botched the SW brand so hard that it has no more goodwill. The sequels spent 6+ hours attacking everything that came before it while offering nothing new for a new generation to get into the franchise on a deeper level.
man they really spent countless money and man hours to make something so aggressively nothing.
>>220937506What everyone wanted out of The Mandalorian was the fucking Mandalorian. It turned into memberberry slop and they kept the lolwacky cutesy poopsy baby yoda puppet around long after he should have been dropped the fuck off.
>>220937506Short answer: genuinely just not very interesting. There's something to the idea of the "Lone Wolf and Cub" archetype, but it's completely diluted, both in the show and this movie, into something completely safe, edgeless, and uninteresting, and wrapped in a dull coat of Flanderized Star Wars imagery.
