Damn this sucked.I don't care if it's woke, don't care about asians/women/homos. I'm not a chud and these USAnian peculiarities don't bother me in any way.Movie is just plain boring, regardless of its agenda. Characters are flat, multiverse shtick is underdeveloped, and narrative just drags along. You have those stretches of haphazard action, some juvenile jokes, then just a drop of actual plot. And nothing of it lands. Choreography is fine on itself, but camerawork often diminishes it. Humor is just atrocious, mostly gross-out stuff and quirky quips. Both human condition and family drama angles feel really cheesy; yes, those themes are inherently profound and eternal, but the film built nothing upon them, just the same feel-good exposition like you could see in Hallmark movies.Seven fucking Oscars, my God, what were they thinking?!

>>221386073I'm way past Tinder and the likes. Too old for dating.
>>221385820Yeah, it was awful. Seemed like the writers/directors had nothing except this single concept of le multiverse, and instead of developing any story or characters with substance, they just haphazardly threw together some low-effort slop surrounding the overdone concept and called it a movie.
>>221385820I couldn't get past 10 minutes
>>221385820it seems like a movie that a quirky teenage girl would call the GOAT
>>221385820Okay I believe you. Looked like new age bullshit anyways. Michael Moorcock has done irreparable damage to storytelling

Well, I am a chud and I liked it, so who's the real contrarian?

>>221385820I feel like I lived my entire life just so that I could see Everything Everywhere All At Once. This is easily the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. This is the only movie I have ever seen that made me cry. Most recommended film I can ever recommend to someone.
>>221386232I know you're doing it on purpose.
>>221385820Big Mike!
>>221385820I thought the movie was alright but could've been shaved down into something better. I would've taken most of the focus off the daughter side of the plot. The whole husband part of, "in another world, I would've been loved being with you" would've been a great emotional climax but they try to have that on top of a bunch of reconciliation with the gay daughter and it doesn't work because you can't do two emotional climaxes in one film. Cut the horrible attempts at comedy and make the acceptance of the daughter the result of the main character's arc rather than a focal point and I think there's something there.
