Bear from Obsession was not a bad guy
>>
>>222190740
well yeah, a bad guy wouldn't want to undo what he did
>>
>>222190740
Whats up with foids obsession of turning masculine men gay forcibly
>>
>>222190740
No shit
>>
>>222190740
I do think he was plainly the villain of the movie, but calling him “evil” seems a bit lazy. To me he’s moreso selfish, which I think deserves a distinction from outright malevolence.
>>
I remember a Disney Channel movie from back in the day where Louis' best friend from Even Stevens makes a wish that he didn't have a little brother, and it comes true and leads to a bunch of chaos or something (I don't know, it's been like 20 years and it wasn't a great movie even when I watched it as a kid), but at the end he uses the wishing coin again and says
>I wish I never made the first wish
Anyway, why didn't Bear do that?
>>
>>222190792
role subversion or something like that, the more masculine a man is the more some women would jump at the opportunity of seeing him in drag
>>
>>222190833
Spot on.
If Bear was a genuine bad guy — manipulative, abusive, violent from the start — the movie would just be a straightforward horror story about a dangerous man. No propaganda. The discomfort comes from the fact that he’s portrayed as a relatively normal, hesitant guy with a crush who makes one supernatural shortcut out of humiliation. The “film” then treats that as original sin that justifies the escalating female violence and societal condemnation.
That’s what makes it propaganda: it takes a relatable male experience (wanting mutual desire, taking a risk) and frames it as the root of horror and entitlement, while the woman’s extreme reaction gets more nuance or justification. If he was cartoonishly evil, the message would land cleaner. The ambiguity is what pushes the “all men are potential threats” narrative.
It serves the manufactured cultural moment more than it serves good storytelling.

isn't the actor literally gay
>>
I like the movie but director going
>one wish willow is not a malicious item, bear just made an evil wish
is retarded
its clearly an evil genie story, the wish that willow granted is clearly not something he wished for at all and the whole scenario is just a dark episode of fairy goodparents
he only said that shit to appeal to the feminist narrative online and stoke their egos
>>
>>222191590
you actually think a human being wrote that post with his hands? are you a literal retard dude?
>>
>>222191663
yeah lol the entire point of a monkey's paw is that get exactly what you wish for and it makes you miserable, there's no way you should be able to game it into being not evil

WHOOPS!

I love how Obsession just makes chuds boil with rage because It holds up a mirror to them and that's something they absolutely don't like
>>
I haven't seen this movie, but what's with the constant moralizing about it. Is this zoomers' first movie that's not about good guys fighting against bad guys? Sometimes there's no obvious hero or villain.
>>
>>222191704
You tell them sister! Gonna buy some HRT, do you want some as well?
>>
He really wasn't

Nikki was fucking with him giving ridiculous mixed signals and flirting and stringing him along

His friends were all lying to him and hyping him up that he has a shot while Nikki was fucking his best friend

It's not his fault he has emotional needs and caught feelings
>>
>>222191711
Hit a nerve didn't I chuddie?
>>
>>222190792
The actor is really ghey though.
>>
Everybody treating it like a documentary is a fucking moron
>>
>>222191705
some people really want the movie to be an anti-incel cautionary tale (despite the fact that the director himself rejected this notion) so they keep trying to convince everyone that the protagonist is an evil monster

Ok so you seem mad
I’m sorry I punched the cool feminist propaganda in the face and it hurt you personally
Maybe don’t use fictional movies to create fake value for your gender war
>>
>>222191663
The whole segment of discourse that ascribes intent to his wish is fundamentally idiotic. We are shown the real world, not a fantasy one with obvious magic, and there is no reason for Bear to suppose that "using" a toy in frustration to make a thoughtless wish would lead to anything.
There's literally no villain in this film. Bear is thrown into a situation he can't possibly get out of without killing either Nikki or himself. He has obvious bad and narcissistic sides, like when he says "would being with me really be so bad?", but they don't play an active role in the development.

>>
>>222192124
not really but whatever helps you cope
>>
>>222190740
maybe the real horror is that they weren't good or evil people, but just plain old regular people.
>>
>>222192212
This movie is as real as your gender you goofy looking skyrim enemy in a thrift store gown just suicide already you nasty spindly freak
>>
>>222191590
Robot hands more like
>>
>>222192223
in the context he does it in it is, he knows that Nikki's being controlled against her will and that she's suffering enough to want to die, but instead of showing sympathy to her he just thinks about his feelings and asks that idiotic question. Still doesn't change anything plot-wise, but it's a display of the ugly side of his character
>>
>>222190872
Why the fuck do you bother reposting ChatGPT shit here?
>>
>>222191694
You're a fucking retard. The point of a monkey's paw is it *superficially* grants you what you wish for but in a way that ultimately defeats the entire point of the wish.

>I wish they would adapt [thing I like] into loads of cool videogames and movies
>Okay sure: it's in loads of games and movies but they're all megagay shit for fags and foids, enjoy!

>4.08 Wishful Thinking
Wes' grandfather's recent death hits him hard, so he decides to give the Babylonian coin his grandfather gave him a try, despite warnings never to use it. He asks for Hope Lynn Casey, with whom he has always been infatuated but who has never acknowledged his existence, to love him more than anything. Within a month, she is utterly devoted to him, and they announce a surprise engagement

I am pretty sure these plot points are even older than that. There is most likely a centuries old fairy tale with the same premise. Nothing is new.
>>
>>222192281
Nothing ugly or narcissistic about it in context. Which is, a reminder, that both parties are at a point in the story where every indication is the only way out of the situation they find themselves in is for one of them to die - asking someone who's supposedly your best mate, someone who claims to care about you, whether just accepting your reality and being together is really worse than *death* or *requiring your friend to die* is a completely valid question to ask, and honestly says far more about Nikki(and women) than it does Bear(and men). I've had a few female friends in my life - not friendzone situations, actual friends - and if some arbitrary mystical force decreed that I had to be in love with them despite not finding them viscerally attractive(ie, not fugly, just not to my taste) and my only alternative was to die or to demand they die, I'd suck it up and live that life because I actually give a shit about my friends so would never ask them to die for my convenience, nor do I find them so repulsive that I would rather die than be near them.

Despite all the "discourse" what Obsession *really* reveals is the innately transactional and bloodless nature of female "friendship". I use the past tense above because that's something I grasped years ago; you're not a person to women, only a source of something they need. They degrade and humiliate men for desiring sex, but if you can't provide them with whatever it is they desire from you - in the context of friendship usually that means being their emotional tampon when they're between boyfriends because trying to dump all their lunacy on their female friends just results in mutual self-reinforcing hysteria until meltdown, but they can also just be using you to pay for stuff, less so these days for validation since they have instagram for that - they will discard you instantly.

>>222192377
That's because you have the IQ of a small sofa. Giving you what you want *superficially* but in a way intended to torment you is definitionally not the same as giving you *exactly* what you wanted. Here I'll show you what the latter looks like:

>I wish they would adapt [thing I like] into loads of cool videogames and movies
>Okay sure, enjoy!

Can you spot the subtle difference with the previous scenario totally-not-that-anon-honest-guv?

Just because you replaced the em dashes this time, you're still not convincing anyone you're anything other than an illiterate bugperson telling a bot to write posts for you.
>>
>>222192458
By the time of that scene Bear has understood that Nikki is either compelled or exchanged with some copy. He's talking to the real/mentally clear Nikki. He understands that nothing about that relationship is real, that Nikki is denied being herself forever, and her inner life, most of the time, is reduced to swooning over him. It is indeed utterly narcissistic to sweep all that aside and be only interested in how the real Nikki sees you, and whether she's sooo repulsed by you she can't simply suck it up.
>>
>>222192458
you're missing my point, I'm not saying that Bear should have killed Nikki but his reaction is still very narcissistic. He knows full well that Nikki is being controlled against her will and that her suffering has nothing to do with being with him but rather with having been turned into a psycho demon, so angrily asking her if being with him is so bad at that point is obtuse and deranged. You could argue that her request is selfish too, but Bear did cause the whole situation (albeit unwillingly) and he went along with it for a while so he still has the responsibility to "fix" things and she had to show to him that she really didn't want things to keep going on that way
>>
>>222192570
>anything that I don't like is ai or bot
Trannies got a new memo from hq?
>>
>>222192489
i can see the difference of course, but the difference itself is superficial. i'm sorry. i know you really want me to be that guy, but i'm not. you're just mad for no reason. you attacked a guy with whose stance you have more in common with than not and it was pointless. you got upset and threw insults around and it was pointless. you're just belligerent for no reason whatsoever.
>>
>>222190740
He was a coward little fag, nothing good about that
