They hire third worlders on the ships and pay them $4/hr for 60+ hr weeks with no overtime pay, and no days off ever. I worked as a dishwasher on the pride of america, the one US flagged cruise ship, so they could only hire people who could legally work in the US. My hours were 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week, with no days off ever (a ship is a 24 hour 7 day operation) and for this I was paid federal minimum wage of $7.25/hr.
