I'm imagining an alternate version of Eva where Shinji doesn't exist and the whole thing is heavily yuri themed. Gendo and the mysterious powers that be would be a vicious, exploitative male force hanging over everything, and Asuka, Rei, Misato, Akagi, and all the other girls would have to band together to take them down and liberate themselves.The aftermath of Third Impact would be basically a yuri paradise - Asuka and Rei standing hand-in-hand like two Eves, to rebuild a better world where femininity is free from male corruption.Something like that.
