Hello
>>681532751>>681532947Remember, we don't have this anymore because filthy casuals whined that they kept missing the big deals. Don't blame Valve, blame the fucking casuals, ruining gaming as always.
>>681533115no the issue is (((banks))) because of the refund policy
>>681532974yeah, it's fun. i played it on the vita originally. i will add that i actually haven't played hackers memory yet, but for the current price it'd be worth it even if it was just the first game, that gave me plenty of playtime.
Give me more Limbo / Inside / Planet of Lana likes that you enjoyed
Any opinions?
>>681532974Its enjoyable but the translation is jank as fuck at times. I only played the first one so maybe the 2nd game has a better translation.
New sales aren't bad because new sales are bad, they're bad because it used to be that good games near constantly came out, meaning competing for players' attention was a serious concern. New good games push older good games back in relevance, resulting in deeper sales on better titles.Nowadays you get like 2 good releases a year so why the fuck would publishers accept heavy discounts? Aw, pissed that Sekiro and DS3 are still being sold for expensive prices? Guess you'll just have to go play the other quality games that are out now (LOL)
>>681533390I have lots of opinions, which ones are you looking for? Opinions on food, music, games, cartoons, tabletop?
Thinking of dropping MM11 and Okami for something else. Any must-haves for PC around the $20 range?

>>681533674Holy fuck please don't drop MM11, that game is amazing. Drop MGR or Okami
>>681532974It's SMT-lite. I paid full-price for the original when it launched and pirated Hacker's memory. It's definitely worth this current sale price.

Opinions for/against please. I value comfy base building above all else. Already exhausted Valheim, The Forest and Fallout 76. Open to suggestions for other base builders.
>>681534342Nioh 2 is basically Nioh 1 but better in terms of mechanics. A little bit dumber in terms of story. But it's also got better variety than 1. I'd say go for it, it's a great game.
>>681534342Nioh has this ultra autistic mechanic where you have to tap L1 after every combo to regain stamina. every. single. combo. you have to tap L1 after. it's one of the dumbest game mechanics i've ever seen.

>>681534691doubt it can be worse in terms of story>i'm the big guy>i'm running away>the same shit happens in half the missions of the game

I boughted Okami HD and Turok collection. Nice. For Xbox though sorry.
>>681542034It's really fun if you want something that eats up a lot of you time. I'm only 50 hours in and I feel like I'm not even 1/4 through the game. It's much more in depth with its combat compared to other farming sims. You're definitely given more freedom too. Like you're allowed to fight some bosses early on without leveling and they'll most likely beat your ass until you either out level them or learn their patterns. The cosmetics are also amazing, but you're gonna have to grind for them. The only downsides are that you move slow as shit until you level your movement speed. The romance options are great, but it feels like you go from being complete strangers to in love after 3 interactions even after the update, but they kind of fix them after marriage. There is a lot of grinding, but the game also gives you some cheats in the name of leveling potions so even if you're just stuck farming, mining, fighting; you'll find or afford potions that increase the other stats. Ignore the negative reviews on the store page it's just a bunch of retards mad that the dev team are making cosmetic dlcs while they work on updates. >>681541547>>681541531appreciate it anons.

>>681543131In that case go Warhammer. I liked BG3 but RT is cheaper and a breath of fresh air. When I played around release though the final act was a buggy piece of shit and I hated it though but everything else is good.
Help me remember this game. The dev is japanese, the main character is a monochromatic girl who's endlessly grinding through a vertical dungeon and you go back to your base to upgrade items. It's 3d, has a tilted camera perspective. I think it was also released on switch? I've spent like an hour trying to find it but I can't.

>>681544485disco's good for the story and at that price it's well worth it. Personally Valheim is kind of boring. I've played a bunch of survival craft style games and honestly this game needs a few more updates before I would recommend it at any price.I'd say wait for a bigger discount for dave the diver. It's fine, but personally the price tag is still a bit too steep.
>>681544778Just play CS pussy
>>681544485rare anon who has played balrum hereit's alright, it's fairly janky and the writing's terrible but the world's reasonably cool and i like stuff like having to find trainers to teach you skills instead of learning fireball after killing your 36th goblinlots of shit to pick up off the ground and craft stuff withbasebuilding for some reason but it's quite cosyat $4 it's fun enough and certainly different if you're craving a crpg that isn't d&d or fallout
>>681544785Why do people lie like this? Stop pushing agendas that are not video games. There is not a single encounter in bg3 that reuses a gimmick, they are all wildly different. You can search the millions of playthroughs on youtube of this very popular game and not a single one will be the same. You're just absolutely wrong. Sit down, faggot.
>>681544717Gathering Storm's in-game ruleset toggle also includes everything from Rise and Fall, so you could get the full experience by just buying Base game + Gathering Storm. Rise and Fall is just an overpriced faction pack if you own GS.If still no, then don't bother. Civ 6 was reviled before DLCs and is honestly still considered inferior to 5 even after both DLCs released. I would unironically recommend Humankind over no-DLC Civ6.Also, if you like 4Xs, play Endless Legend and maybe Endless Space 2 as well.
>>681544757That's unfortunate. May as well pirate it then instead at that point
https://youtu.be/JsX9DzZuuvUStuff like this is why BG3 is good.
Sand Land, Eiyuden Chronicles, or resub to FF14?
Buy the hunter call of the wildIts fun
>>681545027>is honestly still considered inferior to 5By whom? It has like 5x as many active players as V does. 5 is retarded xbox kid shit. It's the worst civ game.
>>681545027>inferior to 5lmao no it isn't
>>681545167No thank you. Hunting is cruel and wrong. Should be delisted from Steam
>>681544485Dave is genuinely charming, but it strings you along with new systems and events that are ultimately shallow and ill-fitting. Would not recommend without a deep discount.
>>681545165Dawntrail is not very good so not worth it.
>>681545153>epic wholesome big chungus XDNo, thanks.

>>681545792The Star Ocean 2 remaster is really good if you haven't played it.
>>681545664It's a bad vn with pretend gameplay
>>681545664It's not a hard game because you mainly just watch stuff. It's fun because if you play enough, you start to think about where you can do something different and sometimes if you have to do anything at all. I wouldn't say it's a very fun game though. It's atmospheric and comfy. You're in winter all the time, there are moments of grim and there are moments of happiness.
>>681545792reverse collapse: the bread girl
>>681544778There is a learning curve but fighting games are good for this if that's your style
what am I missing
>>681545664dlc no. Personally the game was a one and done type deal. After finishing the story mode I had my fill and any attempt at playing it again I got bored pretty quick since learning the gimmicks came easy.hopefully they fix it in the sequel. For 3 bucks though, you're guaranteed to spend at least 10 hours on the game.
>>681538586>>681534867It's OK for a remake as far as I can tell. The game mechanic for dungeons is very grindy, like 99 floors in Dead Souls. Missions, substories, etc - all is there. However, I dropped it because I couldn't own all the dungeons after 40+ hours of total gameplay. It stopped being interesting.

It's been out for almost a year and a 99% approval rate. Recommend for /v/ cause it's on sale for less than $4 right now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrFKG3hVs94
>>681549576>Is this a good metroidvania? No. It ties how you generate the mana to classes, but locks you into a class before you even play the game. It also ties skill tree to class, but you can't see tree until a bit into the game, so you have no way to know if your class is worth playing until you've put a decent time into it.Your basic moves do next to no damage, but parrying does a million, which makes the combat kind of boring as you're mostly just scratching thingsThe story is also tonally fucked too, with a weird mix of a breal setting, sarcastic characters and 4th wall breaking, none of which is appealing>The devWhy would I careI just play games

Opinions on Hunter: Call of the Wild? The base game is pretty cheap and I do enjoy immersion games, of which this one will be pretty unique for me as hunting isn't something I have access to. How is it as both a game, and as a hunting simulator?

>>681561380I've playing Hero's Adventure. It's basically a Chinese TRPG open-roam game. You basically can follow the main story they set, fuck off to do other main stories where you defeat the faction you can be recruited to in the beginning, or do faction and companion stories. There is a chance you can lock yourself out of content by being weak, making certain choices, or passing deadlines. Each time you unlock endings and achievements, you also get bonuses when starting a new game to put you ahead and help you go for the endings you never got. It's overall an alright game (7/10) if you like wuxia shit. You can also marry and build a harem if you play it smart, but some dedicated dudes made a full guide for getting all the girls. There is also like 2 cunny wife options, a princess and tribal priestess. You can also NTR a companion of his childhood friend/cousin and marry her instead.

He genocides the Elves and put them in a forest after murdering their matriarch, burns books on technology/social studies that people discovered, fights honorable people to the death, helps cat/dog girls build an ethnostate after fighting their strongest men for fun, ends slavery across the continent because all life needs to be free, keeps all the races separated into their own nations and prevents traveling outside your sphere of influence, helps the dwarves and gets a new weapon from them, his rival is the literal fantasy version of Muhammad who he calls a retard faker before murdering him and destroying his religion before it can take over the world. Then he gets a moth waifu and dies a peaceful death from cancer under her care. His best friend reveals their younger friend why he did everything he did and they promise to continue his legacy after he brings peace to the world.
>>681563671One of my favs recent survival horror games, if you like survival horror then you should play it, alongside recent ones like Crow Country and Amnesia the Bunker
>>681563713what's top right? style looks cool even as i mentally prepare myself for it to be a yume nikki clone or something
>>681563527Wew I managed to get one. It's been years since that last happened here. Probably there are 3000 thirdies lurking every thread
>>681563928q.u.q.
>>681562740I expect it'll be shit but I need to play it for myself to experience it once.
I'm just about to finish Ace Attorney trilogy from last sale, should I go with Great Ace Attorney or Apollo Justice for the next one?
>>681563713Tranny taste
>>681563527I meant wishlist gifting, keys are always a usual thingyou know, someone post steam profile and someone else adds and gift the person a game? But still this is nice, thank you anon
>>681563749Nope, I am checking. Two are left (in the middle).
>>681562740>I keep hearing it’s bad compared to RE2makeIt's not bad per se but it's lacking in comparison, a whole lot more linear and the ending boss fight was stupid, at least in RE2make I can fuck myself by fumbling ammo.
>>681563671Only yuriniggers like it.
>>681563996Apollo Justice if you want a direct sequel. Great Ace Attorney if you want a better standalone series of games. AA5 is the worst AA game in the franchise but if you want to see how the series concludes it's necessary to play. GAA rivals the Original Trilogy in my opinion.
Is Spider-Man worth buying if I enjoyed the Batman games and the 90s animated series? I don't plan on getting the Miles game. I hate Bendis so much.
>>681564117cool, thanks. i promise not to make a legion of Hitler elves and make Kotaku mad at you
>>681564067Those still happen. Friend for gifted a game a few days ago.I haven't bothered with those threads for some time, but I like the christmas ones. Real cosy.
>>681563964even less gameplay than i thought but still looks coolreminds me a little of The Wizard and the Red Pilgrim, worth checking out
>>681563996I'd go Great Ace Attorney for now, it's cheaper and completely standalone.
>>681564209Too late. They already canceled and blacklisted me anyway. Why do you think I'm here?
>>681564209>>681564117What can you tell me about this game? I see they use AI for portraits which sucks but other than that?
>>681564175It has repetitive open world activities but it has lots of unlockable costumes and a great storyline. If you enjoy the bamham combat, it's like that but more active with air combos and gadgets. Get it if you're craving capeshit/spider-man content.
>Look at Harvestella>It's not a Harvest Moon clone>It's just a JRPG with some farming mechanics. Why would Square do this?
>>681563671Yurifags pretend it's good. It's a shitty autistic indie game aping Japanese aesthetics.
>>681564303it's like oldschool first person dungeon crawler RPGs but a grindan MMO instead, i think
>>681564303It's the only multiplayer blobber on Steam. Basically it's like a hybrid of Wizardry, EverQuest, and Diablo 2 gameplay. It has real-time combat. The leader steers the group through the dungeon and everyone participates in combat via skill buttons. You have passive skills and talent trees so the theorycrafting is pretty deep. The itemization is pretty good too. Crafting isn't in the game yet, but it will be "some day". Imho it's a great game for small groups of friends because it's very focused on treasure hunting and combat instead of stuff like running around a giant game world where logistics become a barrier to grouping.
>>681564245Got a link to those, i always liked seeing when anons get gifted games.
>>681564667Check the archive or wait 174 days.
>>681564329Eh I am Okay with repetitive quests. I mostly play JRPGs and slop like Duel Links.Did 2 improve at all the combat? I hate Bendis but I doubt he is getting a big slice out of every Miles product.
>>681564649how did you turn the game screenshot into perspective in your pic? I've been using a Paint.NET addon but it sucks
>>681563527is that game any good? Looks up my alley and I've got some free time
>>681564649big fan of Everquest, how does that fit into things? from what i've seen it's mostly a dungeon crawler.
>>681564942anon just free transform in literally any photo editing software, like GIMP for example
>>681564942GIMP
>>681564831man there's been so many threads, im too lazy to find it. Well whatever maybe some other time then thanks
>>681564067well an anon just gifted me state of decay, so yes those still happen.
>>681539475My brother keeps recommending me to play Farthest Frontier, so maybe that
>>681564895The combat in 2 is very similar to 1. The main difference between the two games is 2 has new super abilities related to the robot spider arms and symbiote stuff but otherwise it's very similar.
>>681564943I mean... full disclosure... I am the developer. It probably isn't for everyone, but if people like online co-op old-school RPGs without micropayments then they'll probably love it. It's not unusual for players to sink hundreds of hours into it. You can see in the reviews.
>>681563750What's the scam exactly? The supermarket version of that scam is marking up the price of an individual product and then discounting it. The 'scam' here is that the cost of each individual game is added up, and then discounted.
>>681563527>>681565190I was too late for your keys but the game looks neat I wouldn't mind if you posted another one or two either
>>681532751NEO TWEWYDistant Worlds 2Rogue TraderGranBlue Relink
>>681565298In Neo TWEWY you'll encounter this beauty named Shoka
>>681564953It has a lot of clear inspiration from EverQuest and intentionally shares many of its sound effects (which are public domain). It has passive skill level-up messages like EverQuest. The combat logs and chat interface are similar to EverQuest. It even has old-school commands like /who /played /party and /guild. The race and class selection is very similar to EverQuest. It even has some items and mobs that are reminiscent to stuff in EverQuest. That said... don't play it expecting EverQuest. It's a multiplayer dungeon crawler and not exactly an MMORPG in the traditional sense.
>>681565190Sweet. You make plebbit seethe so that alone seems worth the $10, and the game looks fun. I hope you get rich and keep making stuff
>>681532751My computer doesn't turn on.No idea why.
>>681565406Is she one of those "HAGS" you guys keep bringing up?
>>681565665Have you tried turning it off and on again?
>>681546218good games
>>681565513ah okay i can see that bit, i'd seen some footage of someone streaming it and it was all dungeon stuff so i didn't know if there was some kind of larger world exploration angle i just wasn't seeing or what
>>681532920Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation The Endless Seven-Day Journeyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTWr3ZiR0yY
>>681564174>>681564281Thank you anons. Which one is AA5?
>>681563104Ngl been trying to see if there's an anon with a Calisto Protocol up for trade but those anon are gone now
>>681565130looks promising. thanks
>>681565614You could say that.https://massivelyop.com/2021/08/02/nevergrind-online-is-an-upcoming-cooperative-multiplayer-title-dressed-up-in-classic-rpg-style/They all blacklisted the game after this article. But the Japanese media didn't get the memo.
>>681565676I just live her. Can't explain why
>>681563907>>681563671To go along with this, I also highly recommend Darkwood.
>basically most games released this year have RTX2060 minimum*cries in GTX card*
>>681566086* Love
Any games like pic related?Just found these:https://store.steampowered.com/app/2839280/_/https://store.steampowered.com/app/965230/DORAEMON__STORY_OF_SEASONS/
>>681566201see>>681565882
>>681566059Hey just wondering, how does this stuff actually hurt sales? When you get leftist smear campaigns, does it hurt sales, or is there a wave of support after?
>>681565882>>681566201What is even the basic game loop of those games? the Doraemon one looks like a farming sim but the other two are just children killing time during summer break, how is that
>>681565298Relink's pretty fun, just be warned that the multiplayer isn't nearly as active as it was a few months back and it's gotten hard to find rooms.
>>681535420>>681536209just don't listen to the remaster of hot rats, its sound is awful.
>>681563713Armored Core is a lot of fun, if you don't mind the price just go for it.
>>681535420thanks for the rec anon
>>681566361Big time. I probably lost millions of dollars because of it. When the entire American gaming press refuses to cover your game, it will hurt you. It also has a trickle-down effect that results in Twitch/YouTube influencers having no idea that your game exists. Even if they do know you exist, they will be nervous about openly supporting a game made by an unhinged schizo with wrong opinions. Oh well! I guess I'm stuck marketing via Japan.
>>681566826Can you make millions with Wizardry type games? I figure even if every single fan was willing to pay $100 for a game that would still be peanuts at the end of the day
>>681532751begger here ,can some anon buy me death must die, i bought elden ring to play but my fking joystick is broken and will have to spent the money on repairing it and now cant afford to buy death must die, https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198056809441/
>>681567198Yes. You can make millions with basically any type of game on Steam. Just because of the sheer quantity of users.
Is Sonic Origins any good yet or should I still just stick with the mobile ports + AIR still?
>>681567315>e-begging when you have over 500 gamesreally nigga
I'm in the mood for indie four niggas in a rows.Thoughts?
>>681567573buy hylics
where might an aspiring panhandler go
>>681567198i got one of the keys and i'm playing it now and so far it's more like a Cookie Clicker type game with a Wizardry skin rather than a hardcore super difficult RPG. i could definitely see this being the kind of game that ticks a lot of the boxes that can get people hooked very easily. a less honest dev could probably have done a similar concept and really really fleeced some whales.
>>681567658>$1Damn, at that price, should I get Hylics 2 as well?
>Nevergrind Onlinebut i don't want to move on from EverGrind. i have a +105000 shining vorpal sword and over 20 years of loyal playtime
>>681567762I really like 2 but just be warned it's janky as fuck at times with weird platforming segments. 1 is more standard RPGMaker fare. God tier OST though.
>>681567315Tenia que ser argentino el hijo de puta
>>681567315>>681568121Dios mio, el argentino sub 0%
>>681568121In french we say> Fils de pute
>>681568121I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume the majority of that is random slop from bundles, but still
Everything in the entire thread looks like shit, and not even wort $0.99. You guys know you don't HAVE to consume sales like women at a garage sale, right? You can simply say "wow this game looks like shit, no wonder it's on sale."
>>681567889>it's janky as fuck at times with weird platforming segments.I beat Xenogears so I think I can manage, as long as it doesn't have mid-air momentum-killing random encounters.
>>681568297Ok poorfag
>>681568297Hey don't you talk shit about garage sales asshole
>>681568297Imagine being a retard that thinks graphics matter in a game. Does chess have bad graphics too? Go play the latest AAA gameslop.
>>681568297Wow you're so retarded, no wonder why you have no friends
uh... help
>>681568690Yes?
>>681568690At least have the decency to remove the ones not on sale
>>681568690>Steam sale>Puts games that are not on sale
>>681566826>I probably lost millions of dollarsYou are a retard. It would not have made millions, it's in a niche genre with a bunch of games that already have playerbases, a genre that is generally a fairly large time sink which means the type of people who want this type of game aren't going to divide their attention. You also haven't lost millions, you never had it and you weren't entitled to it.
Recommend some exploration-focused RPGsI played Crystal Project and now I'm craving more similar games.
>>681568904It looks like Minecraft
>>681568867>>681568787almost none of the games i'm interested in are on sale. this sale is unironically probably the worst one i've ever seen
>>681568904Not on Steam but emulate Xenoblade X.
>>681568968It plays like Final Fantasy V mixed with a platformer.
>>681568898I assure you that I did, you reprehensible chicken nugget scoon. It has already made hundreds of thousands and it's not even full release yet. When it did get a morsel of media coverage from Japan, it made $20,000 in one day.
This might be too niche of a question but if I were to buy vanilla HoI4 would that be enough for Old World Blues or is that one of those mods that's mechanically barren unless you pony up for everything?
>>681568690I'd trade HROT for Arthurian Legends. Zortch and Cultic are just fine. I've got Disillusion sitting in my cart as well. I'd wait for a steeper discount on Animal Well unless it's your top pick out of that cart.
new bred when
>>681568690Animal Well was a good base game then it devolved into autistic post post post game secret hunting which I personally hate in indie games. SKALD was okay. It's mostly a narrative game and the combat feels very tacked on and simple. Despite liking boomer shooters and the aesthetic of it, I didn't like HROT. It has enemies that spawn in via teleportation mid level which I think ruins level design and encounter design in a shooter.
What's the /v/erdict on Coral Island?I'm looking for maximum comfiness.
>>681569961When this one dies
>>681570172Personally didn't like the mines vibe and thought the characters were a bit tumblr-soulless. I'd purchase it closer to $20 tops, certainly not at 32+tax.
>>681570458keep in mind that's in canuckbucks. It's like ~23USD
>>681570502Yeah I noticed, fellow leaf here too.
>>681570559ah, gotcha. Will hold out for a lower price then, thanks fellow leaf
>>681568297/r/steam is the epitome of slop consumers
>Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon>Titanfall 2I see a lot of praise for these campaigns, but I was underwhelmed. Maybe I just don’t vibe with the aesthetic of these games
any good games released this year on sale?
