I honestly have 0 respect for anyone that ranks RDR2. I was playing through it for the first time (before Silksong came out and took over since I wanted to escape the playthrough badly and Silksong has been kino)Anyways, I'm on chapter 5 and I'm glad I had a reason to stop playing because the game was really pissing me off.First off, there's some good things. The world looks nice. There's some new features over the barebones RDR1 that I appreciate. Hunting is a little better, the fishing minigame is pretty bad but at least there's a few more things to do. The map is nice, the attention to detail is nice, the animations and cinematics, all top notch.But that's all fine, but the story is where I have issues. My god the plot holes in this game, for example in chapter 3 when the Pinkertons just show up at the camp randomly, they know EXACTLY where dutch is, why would they just wander into the camp and blow their cover? Why would they not just simply scout the camp, round up a bunch of local police and other detectives, keep a man to spy on them and then raid the camp and kill or capture dutch and everyone else in the camp, force them to surrender? That's just one single example of the countless plot holes I remember happening in this game's story. It's just silly and dumb. This segment on the "not cuba" Island has to be the worst part of the game though. Wow what a fucking slog, the action sucks in RDR2, the gameplay in general is so fucking stale. It's just endlessly activating dead eye and getting headshots, the entire fucking game, then chug a snake oil or whatever to replenish it. Rinse and repeat, there's 0 variety, no puzzles, nothing actually interesting to do except go from point a to b and shoot way too many enemies that make the entire game feel like a joke despite it relying so hard on "realism." I could go on but there's not enough characters but I could say way more shit to criticize it.

All the interactivity is done better in virtually any other game, you just walk from one cinematic set piece to another while occasionally engaging in barebones combat or a button prompt for a character to go over a ledge or something. I liked the story of the first game because I have a soft spot for surrogate father stories, but that's it.
