Jakob's are just too slow, Daedelus for simple shooting or Maliwan. Used to use a tediore but I kept blowing myself up when I went to reload near a wall or vending machine after a fight

Yes, the main story basically has nothing cringe about it. And what cringe stuff there is has been delegate to a few side quests. However, a lot of the side quests are just as serious as the main story. Even Claptrap has a nice side mission where you help him learn to move on and not be dangerously attached to the past.
Gameplay is great too, but the major issue plaguing the game right now is the abysmal performance. I could even get past that if the game didn't consistently crash every 30 minutes to an hour (probably due to bad shader caching).

There's a class mod that makes it so your shock damage irradiates/entangles and arcs to other enemies. You can also pair it with the healing shield in green tree, but I think group study would just be better.
