Needs better sound design on hits. It's not always clear when you're blocking/getting blocked or when you're parrying/getting parried, as all hits landed not sounding distinct or impactful.

I love games like this and for me Sifu would go from a 6/10 to like a 9/10 with better sound design and some kind of mode where you can actually get all the upgrades and break encounters

Didn't like it, the fights are ridiculously drawn out because the boss is invincible 80% of the time, it's just dodging bullet hell patterns, and then you're allowed to attack the boss for a bit, rinse and repeat. Felt like shit after Cuphead, but that's just me, I know Furi used to be pretty popular

Most attack strings can be interrupted by s light jab. Backwards sweep doubles as a duck. Flowing claw is also a backstep. Throwing a guy at another guy is a guaranteed interrupt. Focus attacks are all interrupts.

what the museum? its arguably the easiest if you use the shortcuts. you can go into the elevator and skip straight to the boss. without them, several arenas might fuck you up, yeah

if you attempt to jab interrupt even the most basic enemies, they will parry or super armor out and deck you. that triggers in under 3 seconds.
my strategy was to immediately knock them down and go for the grounded pummel because they can't parry that. every other move in the game is extremely likely to get interrupted, as a way of punishing you for daring to attack 3 times without dodging or parrying inbetween.
you can spend the extremely rare precious meter on the one good move, the eye poke, a few times per level for a longer stun. except the final boss is completely immune because i guess using the game mechanics is bad.

No, the tower, I couldn't defeat the boss without dying at least once, and I got fed up.

The normal enemies weren't that difficult actually, and that's in part why I found it tedious repeating a level over and over again even with shortcuts, the enemy variety is pretty poor in the game.

But like I said, it was just my autistic stubbornness that made me drop the game, I actually think it's pretty fun, I may revisit in another time.

It depends on the move.
Average gangsters after ducking the jump punch you can jab to interrupt the followup punch and regain tempo.
Kick ladies you can't interrupt while they're in the air but any other time you can stop their combos with a jab.
Bodyguards that do the one-two roundhouse you can jab after the one-two to interrupt the kick.

You NEED to learn to always be on the offensive especially in master mode when your posture bar gets raped in 3 hits.

Sweeping is good but not for ground pounding. Against a big group you want to keep half the encounter on the ground while you deal with the other half, which is easy since you can knock down 2 guys with one sweep in tight spaces. Focus sweep is doubly good since it keeps one annoying guy down for like 8 seconds while you deal with everyone else.

Also go with vertical strikes focus instead of eye punch. You can keep a stage boss stunned long enough to knock down 3/4 of their structure. Vertical strikes -> rising claw combo -> light combo -> palm strike and chasing trip kick.
