We're not getting anything cool like the roster from Super Sluggers, Wapeach becoming official or a mainline Mario platformer with Wario as a playable character. You're going to get games that lean heavily on callbacks and open worlds with more 'content' than all previous games combined but they won't be engaging long-term and lack the sauce that 64, Sunshine, NSMB1 and Galaxy had. No expanding the Marioverse either. The suits still have their guidelines in full effect.
